Antique FRIENDSHIP TREASURE CHEST tin box Historic 1927 Japanese doll trunk
This tin trunk was commissioned by the Committee on World Friendship Among Children as a goodwill exchange program by sending 50.000 of these trunks, filled with candy, ribbons, books, sewing kits and fun knickknacks, to the children of the Philippines. Each doll had a passport, train and steamboat ticket and even handwritten letters. Bon Voyage parties were held by children before sending the trunk away. Very cool aluminum locker! I think it's 1940's. Lots of rivets. Heavy latches. Great industrial age look! It measures 30" x 17" and 13 1/2" tall. No inside tray. Working& functional condition is very good. I opens and closes nice and tight. The latches catch and hold. The back hinges are heavy duty and move without issue. It's been well used. I assume well traveled. And it's got plenty of scratches. Dents, and imperfections in the aluminum. It still looks great! The leather handles are in great condition. Small Fancy Primitive Antique 1871 Girl's Trunk -Doll - Document Chest
This is a fantastic. Small antique trunk. It is 14 1/4" wide, 9" deep and 6 3/8" tall. Most likely made by a father for his little girl. There are cut-out pictures from Frank Leslie's Lady's Magazine, Feb. 1871 issue, glued to the inside. Pieces are missing on the lid inside. There are stains on the inside. The outside is decorated with red leather straps and small iron plates which have been attached with brass, round head tacks. Only a few tacks missing. Has the original leather handle on top. Originally had leather hinges holding the lid on. They wore out and are replaced with modern brass hinges. The trunk has no cracks or breaks. A great original, primitive piece! Antique Domed Small Trunk All Original 1800's 18x11x11 Victorian Chest - COOL!
This is an 1800's small sized domed trunk. All of the compartments are present and still look great. Exterior shows typical wear. There is a pencil written price of $1.50 on the bottom. The pics make this look like a typical big cumbersome trunk but it's actually much smaller with exterior measurements of 18x11x11 inches. Definitely more practical and would serve any room of the house well. I've seen thousands of big trunks but never one this size.

Nice old trunk for doll clothes in the shape of a dome trunk. Measures 12" X 7 1/4" X 7 1/4" This trunk has many condition issues and please use the photos as part of the description so you can see exactly what you are getting. The leather handles are gone; the lock does not work; there is a lot of wear and tear on the outside. Both on the leather and the paper. The top of the trunk is very dark, is very worn around the edges, and is separating from the box on one corner- I did not attempt to clean. I believe there once was a tray inside which is missing. And the inside paper is torn and stained. On a good note, the hinges work nicely and the wood appears solid with no holes. One wall is separating from the floor- it can be easily fixed by gluing, or tapping short nails or staples in between the current ones. It has nice brass corner guards with textured rivets- the closure and hinges are also brass. Someone has mangled the closure a bit but functionality has not been compromised. 19th century maple rectangle trunk style chest with black strap inlay
Bellport Jewelers& Rarities 631-286-7700 Description. This is a rectangular curved top chest like the shape of a trunk with inlaid black straps. Hinges are working fine. Wood appears to me to be maple but I'm not sure- it has a bit of a taupe going on could just be the finishing. While I don't see any significant damage I do note a few spots of the black inlay is not completely smooth in their channel but they are firm. The top layer front left corner is not completely flat- a bit of space. There is some damage front lower foot area on the right as the photos show and I note bottom has a small 1/2 size split going on. Inside of top is finished with a green velvet. Some scratches and dents thru out as the photos show but nothing terrible. Needs a bit of restoration to be made perfect. Measures 5 inches across by 3 inches tall by ... more3 inches in depth.
