It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. Large rectangular steamer trunk by Hartmann Trunk Company. Not sure of dates. But I tried to look up the patents(on a label inside the trunk) and the only patents I could located were from the 1920s. Approximately 4 feet high, 2 feet wide,foot and a half deep. Leather handles torn. Some rust. A little musty but it should clean up decently. A French Steamer Trunk with White Star Line sticker on the exterior. We are pleased to present this antique French Steamer Trunk for your consideration. It belonged to a G. Pellissier. And has many indications of extensive use, including a White Star Line sticker on the exterior. The original label from the shop in Paris. France where it was purchased is still attached to the underside of the lid in the interior, and is in pretty good shape. The Trunk measures 13 inches high. 40 inches wide, and 23 inches deep. It weighs 36 pounds. The trunk shows heavy wear to the exterior fabric. And is worn through in places down to the underlying wood. Despite heavy wear, the structure is solid. Heavy brass corner protectors show a heavy patina, along with some dents, but have done their job to protect the wooden frame. Pieces of the leather straps on ... moreboth ends remain, but the leather is in poor shape. The interior fabric shows water stains, and is torn in places. The bottom appears to be made of tin, and is in good shape. Metal latches and fasteners show a heavy patina. We rate the overall condition of the Trunk as fair to good. Hi. Thanks for visiting. I'm selling my antique steamer trunk because of the fact that we're downsizing our living situation. Otherwise, I would certainly hang on to it- it is really a nice piece. I acquired this at a local antique store about ten years ago and have kept it on display ever since. It is made mostly of wood. With some metal rivets and leather straps. I'm not sure when it was constructed, but it is definitely of significant age. It measures approximately 34" long by 21" wide by 24" tall. The trunk is obviously old. So it isn't in perfect condition. One of the metal buckles has come loose from one of the leather straps, for instance. This is the real deal folks! This lock is heavy brass. The pictures don't do justice. But it has a nice swirled brass finish that has the original patina. Antique Wardrobe or Traveling Wardrobe Trunk. Circa 1900s-1930s in excellent condition. American company, Lutz& Company of Washington, DC. Opens to wardrobe on left and drawers on right. On lower left is a case for shoes or other accessories. Top right drawer is divided into 3 sections with a lock(don't have the key) Bottom drawer is a hat drawer. There are 5 long hangers and 2 short hangers. There is an horizontal presser bar to hold items in place. Hangers are on chrome rods that telescope out, allowing the clothing to not be pressed so tightly when trunk is open. There is a Locking Bar on the right to hold the drawers closed while in transit. When on end, the top, which opens upward, is slightly domed. Leather handle on right end is no longer functional. All metal hardware is in place and the outside lock has a functional KEY. ... moreThe outside seems to be made of wood, which has some cracking, mostly the right domed end(see photo) The stains on the outside come out for a brief time with oiling. Would be beautiful if redone. Item has been used for the last 35 years as storage or as furniture. Also included in the 2nd drawer is a drawstring bag made of the same material as the lining in the interior of the trunk. Overall dimensions: 40" long x 20 1/2" high x 21" deep. Antique Vintage Chest Steamer Trunk Leather *Local Pick-up ONLY!
I am not sure how old this trunk is. It is in very rough condition. Please see pics for your own judgment on condition. Some rails inside are missing and or broken off that I believe was for an inside tray. The two side leather handles are worn off. There are still leather loops around the trunk that I think the straps would have gone through to secure but the actual straps are gone as well. There is no key. There are 3 shipping stickers from address destinations still intact for the most part but are very difficult to read. 2 of them are from"American Railway Express" and the other says"Dominion Express. The outside of the trunk has a canvas like texture to it and may have been partially painted brown at some point. The trunk itself is real wood construction. From the inside the top of the lid has a paper type covering but ... moreis peeling and you can see the wood planks through it. The trunk has the traditional metal corners and trim work. I will say that the latches and center lock are pretty cool looking. The top is a little different than most of the trunks I have researched. I usually see a flat top or dramatic dome/curved top. This trunk has a slight curve to it that you can view from the side pics. Lastly. The pictures make the trunk look lighter because of the camera's flash than in person. It is a bit darker live. What an amazing estate find! Atkinson& Long mfg co. from Petersburg Va made this trunk. Overall trunk is in amazing condition for it's age. Comes with original hangers and material. it doesnt look like anything has been changed out. Trunk lock is bent so it would have to be fixed to close it fully. If you have any questions let me know. A beautiful antique designer"steamer" trunk measuring approximately 23.5" tall. 35.5" wide, and about 22.5" deep. The lock is stamped and made by Eagle Lock Co. of Terryville, Conn. and we believe the trunk to be circa 1900 give or take. It is in good antique condition with normal surface wear commensurate with age and use- plenty of dings, scratches, etc. The leather handles on each side have been lost, and one rolling wheel/castor is missing on the bottom(please see photos) The trunk retains the tray insert on the inside and there is some wear and tear to the paper lining on the inside. Ladycomet Refinished Victorian Arch/Curve Top Steamer Trunk Antique Chest w/Key
Nice Refinished Antique Curve Top Steamer Trunk With Working Lock& Key Here is a beautiful refinished embossed metal trunk that has a slight arched top to it. There are ten pictures above for you to view. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 28 1/4 inches. From floor to top is approximately 20 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 16 inches. The embossed metal has a woven wicker pattern to it. The outer slat boards look to be ash or oak. We have finished the outer slat boards with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax to protect the wood and give it a nice appearance. The metal parts that make up this trunk have been painted by hand in black and gold leaf. This one comes with the original working lock. The lock does have a brass key hole cover which we have semi polished. There are not any ... moreother brass metal parts on this trunk except for the key hole cover. We matched up an older key that does work with this lock. This trunk should date back to the late 1800's. The front latches were missing when we received this trunk. We have run buckles with straps in place of the latches which are functional. When buckled, in addition to the front lock, they do help hold the trunk's lid to it's base securely. The side handles have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps which are sturdy. This trunk could make a nice gift for a loved one or family member who enjoys collecting refinished antique furniture pieces. They could store any collectibles within it. If they collect dolls or teddy bears, they can be displayed in and within the trunk with the lid in the open position. Going to the interior, we have removed the worn out looking paper lining and finished the wood with two coats of polyurethane. The interior is in pretty clean condition considering how old this trunk actually is. A nice trunk maker's style picture has been added to the underside of the arched top. Antique Camelback Steamer Trunk Dome Top Tin Storage Toys Treasure Chest
This is a gorgeous antique camelback steamer trunk. It measures 33.5" x 19" And the dome reaches 20 3/4 inches tall. It has curved wood pieces with tin fittings, and it has wheels underneath. One of the side latches works perfectly, and the one on the left will fit closed but will not stay closed. I have not tried to close the main latch in the middle because I do not have a key. Note the older style slightly rectangular nailheads. Inside you can see some bare wood in places. But much of it is still covered by the original paper. You can also see two stickers that say Uncle Sam US Army standard 10 1/2. I have no idea what that refers to or their date. Just to the right of the right sticker, you can barely see the remains of the original sticker that was in the trunk. There is only a very, very slightly musty odor. The original handles ... moreare gone. The top opens and closes very smoothly and straight down. Local pick up only. If you want to arrange shipping with a shipper on your own. Nice Freshened Up Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk With Working Lock& Key Here is a cute metal dome top that we picked up and freshened it up. There are nine pictures above for you to view. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 30 inches. From floor to top is approximately 22 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 16 1/2 inches. The embossed metal on the top and front has flowers and leaves patterned onto it. This is the original metal and paint from the factory. The rest of the metal has been freshened up and hand painted in black and gold leaf. The outer slat boards appear to be ash or oak and they have been given two coats of polyurethane. This pretty dome top comes with the original working lock. We have matched up a key that does work with this lock. The front two latches are also original ... moreand work well since the springs are still intact. The side handles were missing and have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps. Going to the interior, we have removed the paper lining from the wood since it was worn out looking. The interior wood has been given two coats of polyurethane. A picture of a young person posing has been added to the underside of the dome. A wooden piece has been put from the front on the inside to the back. It has been done so so the trunk lid will line up with the lock and lower latches. Going to the bottom underneath this cute trunk, it has normal wear and it also has the four factory original metal casters on the bottom that still do spin. This one has been pretty much freshened up instead of totally refinished. It did turn out to be nice looking. Especially with the flowered metal. Interior Compartment Area, and Original Tray With Lids and Pictures Here is an absolutely beautiful dome top steamer trunk or hump back chest from the late 1800's. There are twelve pictures above for you to view and some of them are two in one. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 32 inches. From floor to top is approximately 26 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 19 1/2 inches. We have removed some of the metal from between the outer slat boards to expose the wood underneath. This beautiful trunk is made up of poplar base wood with ash or oak outer slat boards. We have finished the wood with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax to protect it. There are some typical distress marks in various places on the wood. ... moreThese include older nicks and dings along with some stress cracks. The majority of all trunks have these similar antique markings which have accumulated over the trunk's long journey or existence. This one has the nice vertical outer slat boards along with horizontal slat boards. The trunk maker did a nice job of putting fancy cap metal on these slat boards. The metal parts that make up this trunk are not brass. So we have brush painted the metal by hand in black and gold leaf. A nice feature on this trunk is that it comes with the original patent dated working lock. We have matched up a key that does work in this lock. The key hole cover is patented, Mar 69& Apr 71" We are not always able to match up keys so that the trunk locks work, but in this case we have. The side handles were missing and have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps which are sturdy. The handle cap metal is cast iron with cute little perforated stars and triangles on them. Some of the slat board cap metal is also patent dated. It is hard to make it out clearly, but it looks like patented 16 of 80, referring to possible March 16 of 1880 because we have had similar hardware

This is a rare wheeled studded Jenny Lind Stagecoach or Steamer Trunk including its key. I think it dates from the 1800's. It is made of iron and wood and has its original fittings and inside compartments and label. There is a compartment in the lid. A tray compartment and a bottom compartment. It has a metal bottom. The label reads Edgar Parmer and company- Trunk Manufacturing and the lock is marked J. Terry& Co. Terryville CT. It is approximately 27 1/2" wide, 17" deep at the deepest point and 16 1/2" tall to the crest. The inserts are in tact and in good used condition, but the leather straps are broken and a brass stud in the lower front side is missing. It has some stains that I haven't tried to clean. VINTAGE HARTMANN 1920's STEAMER TRUNK LUGGAGE CHEST ANTIQUE NEAT PIECE
Up for purchase is this CIRCA 1920 Hartmann Cushion Top Steamer Trunk. The piece measures 40.5 x 21.5 x 15. As you can see on one side there are 4 Drawers and on the other one small suitcase on the bottom from where you would hang your cloths. There are no locks with this trunk, I do have the hardware piece to install the main lock if at some point you wanted to change the lock. This piece appears to have been repainted with the red and the art deco look on the drawers which was very well done. This piece was used as a decorative piece in a master bathroom from a local estate. The latches shut tight as they should. The piece has the patina one would expect from a steamer trunk from this era, has dings, dents scratches, scuffs, and the metal has the aged patina look. I have taken many pictures for your review. This piece is a Salesman Sample Trunk- some may also use as a trunk for dolls. The piece is entirely original- no signs whatsoever of any restoration or alterations. Asheville Embossed Silver Dome Trunk 1900-1930 This is an attractive medium-sized trunk from the early 20th century. A solidly constructed dome steamer made of wood, trimmed with embossed silver tin, and featuring a lid with only a slight arc. It’s 30.5 inches wide, 16.5 inches front to back, and 19.5 inches tall– a perfect complement to any rustic decor. The trunk is constructed of a pine box with fluted hardwood slats across the top. Front and back. The sides also have exposed a refinished wood. It has been restored with thick black leather handles and a new lid stay to hold it open– otherwise the trunk and all of its appointments are in their original condition. A unique feature is the large original lithograph of an Indian maiden in a canoe that covers the entire inside lid. Which was preserved in the restoration. Although there is no ... moreevidence of its manufacturer. It was purchased at an estate sale in Asheville, N.C. and its design and appointments mirror those of trunks produced between 1900 and the 1930s. The bottom. Which has its original working rollers, has been cleaned, painted, and sealed with polyurethane so it safely sits on floors or carpets. The trunk is solid and clean and has absolutely no stale or musty odors. The hinges are tight and the lid fits securely when closed, yet opens easily. Although there is no key, the lock appears to be in working condition if the buyer chooses to fit it with a locksmith reproduction. The inside has been cleaned. Sanded, and finished with tung oil so it’s ready for use as storage or display. It features the original removable tray, which has also been refinished with tung oil.
