My parents bought this case for me in the late 1940s/ early 1950s and I used it going back and forth to college. Hard shell is covered with fabric(vinyl? in a green linen weave design. Very sturdy plastic trim around the edges. 2 tiny nicks in the covering at the back. The handle is still attached but not in very good shape. A metal label says“American Tourister. Providence, Rhode Island. The inside is lined with a silky fabric of green shot with tan. There is an elastic topped pocket in the lid. 2 more on the sides and one detachable snap in pocket, plastic lined for toiletries. Two sets of ties to holed the clothes in place. Nice antique cowhide leather suitcase measuring 26" X 13" X 7.5" This piece is in pretty decent shape for its age with a great patina on the leather. Perfect designer piece. Or use it yourself as it is still completely functional. Leather is imprinted with some numbers and"Authentic Cowhide Guaranteed" pictured) All of the brass latches work great. And you can snap the lock in the middle shut and open it without a key(no key is included) Handle is in nice shape as well as the hinges for opening and closing. One of the leather straps has broken off and is in the suitcase, if you want to try and restore it. The other strap is still intact, but is dry and brittle. Antique Vintage Small Overnight Suitcase Faux Snakeskin Hard Shell Clean Beige. Size is 14 in. x 10.5 in. x 5.5 in. This case belonged to my mother and dates from the 1930s or 40s. Metal label says Genuine Shortrip. Stephenson Mfg. Co. Inc. N.Y.C. It’s in great condition inside and out except for a little wear on the corners. One small brown mark on the top and a couple of other small stains that you can hardly see. The inside is quilted in a synthetic“plasticy” material. There are 2 pockets and across the back a strap that pulls out to hold small items such as bottles. Inside I found a vintage hat pin& bobby pin which must have been there since before my mother died in the late 1950s and I left them there. Up for bids is an antique Hat Box/ Carry on Luggage Bag. I have always believed it to be leather and I'm sure that some of it is. The trim and handle are for sure. But I'm not positive about the main body. The hardware is all original including the lock which still works and has it's key. The liner is in good condition other than the pouch, which has apparently lost any elasticity that it might have had. The top has a sag in it, where I am assuming the owners sat something heavy on it in a closet. Still overall considering it is probably 100 years old, it in pretty good condition. Material being either of alligator or crocodile with a more natural color tone than any other set I have found through research. Condition* Being over 80 years old! I feel this set is in reasonably good antique condition. With minor visible scuff marks on the exterior and tarnished brass hardware. Inside has a large pocket/file holder on one side and the other side has leather straps that holds instruments. It has reinforced corners and six metal feet on the bottom. The condition is very good overall. There is overall surface wear commensurate with age and use, including some dings and scratches as they are found commonly on antique luggage. The inside is a little musty smelling with no staining but in very good condition considering its age. This trunk was found in a climate controlled storage unit and is in amazing condition. The lock has been cut but does still function for latching the lid shut. It appears to be in the fashion of the Chief line but with a custom ordered color. I have researched this trunk and it does not appear often in this color leading me to believe it was a custom order. ANTIQUE LEATHER SESAMEE TRAVEL LUGGAGE
This listing is for what looks like an Antique piece of train luggage. I figure it was made for carrying booze or he was just one well organized man. The patent dates are on the reverse side of the lock. The first one is 10/6/25 and runs to what looks like 11/9/26. It measures 14"W x 8 3/4" D x 9" H without the lid and 11 1/4" with the lid. The handle is well used with cracks and wear as expected. The lid has wear to the top and sides as well as wear to the bottom ends. The interior has a very good old smell and the velvet is in really good condition for its age. There are some stains to the interior. It looks like it was a very high end piece for the day. I did some research on this and it's marked Trade Marked Sesamee which I thought was the company but it refers to the type of leather. Antique Vintage Leather Hatbox Round Suitcase Luggage 17" diameter 9" deep LOOK!
This is a nice old leather hatbox/ round suitcase. It measures approximately 17" in diameter. And is approx. 9" deep. As you can see in the photos, it is black with brown trim, and has a yellowish tan fabric lining. This piece has been around. It does show wear, as the leather has some scuffs and scrapes, and the fabric lining is worn and a bit tattered. The leather on one side of the handle is broken, but the original wire within it keeps it secure. There appears to be a name written on the fabric lining(I think it says Irma_ All of the snaps and closures are functional, however I do not have the key. Please see the photos.Thank you for looking.
