It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. This is a very walnut entertainment or tv cabinet made in England circa 1950. It sits on bracket feet and has brass handles, l think at some time one of the brass handle drops have been changed, but every thing else is all original, there is satinwood inlay to the front and top. The front pulls up and pushed back so you can either watch tv or have a music center in there. Measurements are 34 wide. 36 high, 19 1/2 deep. There are few light scratches to the top but looks fine.

Please carefully look at pictures as they will'describe' it's condition better than my words can. The only'hardware' is drawer pulls& they look original. Everything else is wood. I don't see where any nails were used at all. As far as history on this all I can tell you is I purchased it from a gentleman that said his mother had bought this at an antique store in the mid west back in the 70's. After researching the internet& from what he told me It's most likely from the 1940 to the 50's. Again that's just a guess. I couldn't really find another one like it. Estate Find ~ Antique BRASS & WOOD Cabinet Maker's Tool Chest w/Drawer & Trays
Please scan below description to read shipping costs/details ~ thanks Fabulous antique cabinet maker's tool chest measuring 27"wide x 16-1/4" x 14-1/4" high. Hard wood probably oak? You won't find any veneer here this beauty is solid wood. A quality made piece well constructed to serve the maker for many years with three brass hinges to hold the lid. This box has all the pluses, check out the stunning heavy brass trims that decorate every edge for strength and beauty. This chest is about as original as you will ever find complete with drawer, trays that lift out for your drill bits and other small hand tools and room for the hand saw inside the lid. The hefty solid brass handles are built into the chest to lay flush until you pull them out to lift the chest. Both locks are present we do not have any keys. A very solid ... morepiece ready to use or display in your room for extra storage. I am not an expert on items we sell just describing what I see when I look at the piece. Use this as a guideline and follow along with the photos I have taken several at different angles to give you a good look at what you are buying. Condition: Some minor dings in the wood from years of use but NOT abuse. These marks are customary with use over 100 years +. The hinges are firmly in place and hold the lid nicely, the drawer has brass pulls and works as it should opening and closing nicely. The inside may need to be wiped down and cleaned a little we are selling it directly from the workshop! All the brass is solid brass and well attached with NO missing pieces. Lid closes great, inner trays move forward and back to select your tools, they are removable. Some tiny dots of paint are present on the drawer and on the lid but a fine piece of steel wool and wax would probably remove these nicely. Antique refinished trunk one of a kind high end Victorian chest circa 1895
For your consideration is an antique refinished Victorian trunk with fancy hardware and double locks. A feature not often seen. This was definitely a high end trunk in its time, one that would have turned heads at the train station. All the extra hardware, the double locks and the fact it has three protective slat boards on all sides makes this trunk truly unique. A three stave(slat boards) trunk is one that is quite rare. It's only the second one that I've come across to refinish. This trunk measures 34" long by 21" wide by 24" high and has both of its original trays. The trays original cardboard bottoms have been replaced with wood bottoms and finished to match the interior of the trunk. The interior of the trunk has been cleaned down to bare wood, sanded, stained and sealed. Three coats of a water based sealer was ... moreused on the interior and trays to keep any odor to a minimum. The outside of the trunk was professionally refinished with a furniture grade finish. All the metal on this trunk was hand burnished with enough of the patina left to provide a natural antique character to the piece. This is an antique so there will be cracks dents and dings but these just add character. This particular trunk only has one stress crack which is quite unusual(it can be seen in the pic of the top) New high grade leather handles were installed to provide many years of safe lifting. This is a'true' flattop trunk, that is there is no slight built in arch to the top which makes it an ideal candidate to be used as a coffee table or end table or other decorative use. Try as I might I have been unable to find keys for the two locks but I have the ebay'key' guy hot on the trail and hopefully we'll come up with a key before the listing ends. I do each of my trunks to the best of my ability which means I don't rush the work because I want each one just right. I don't paint the hardware and don't repaper the interior. ANTIQUE HARTMANN TRUNK / CHEST GREAT BLACK INDUSTRIAL / MACHINE AGE LOOK
This trunk is spectacular. It is a high quality Hartmann trunk. I am uncertain of the exact age. But I am confident that it dates to the earlier part of the 1900s. The exterior is hardshell and the finish has great patina. The interior is rather interesting. It has a galvanized metal insert. I am not certain the purpose of this, but it possibly speaks to anticipated rough handling of the case. Maybe this was designed for airline or train travel. I thought about an ice box however, there is no insulation in the galvanized insert. The overall exterior measurements of the case are 28" x 9 1/2" x 18" The logo is mostly intact and indicates a Racine, Wisconsin address. There is only one handle on the case and it is in good shape. Antique Spanish Dome Document Box Chest with brass accents. Nice!
Very old and unusual domed document box. I think it's Spanish. This box is made of cardboard or paper mache material. It's VERY sturdy with raised material and brass accents. See photos. I've never seen one quite like it. It's in great condition for age. The straps that hold the lid open are perfect. The front brass clasp doesn't snap shut but just hangs there. Has some wear on the edges and top left is pushed in a little. But still great!

Antique Chemists chest from the estate of Dr. Otto Raubenheimer himself. Circa 1890. Complete with Apothecary jars still with medicine in them. Dr. Otto Raubenheimer worked at Verona Pharmacy in Brooklyn. And Ye old Herb Shoppe and was well known for his herbal medicines. In this box you will receive jars of vitamins and herbs with pills and oils still in tact. This is such a rare find. As most of the stuff from his estate was sold off many years ago. Some of the jars include Quinine Sulphate. Lilac Oil, Peppermint Oil, Garlic Oil, Rhinitis, Pistachio Essence, Hematinic Plastules and more. All made by the Doctor himself. THIS IS A GORGEOUS CHEST OF SEVEN DRAWERS. IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS HAND MADE TO ME. I TOOK A DRAWER OUT TO SHOW THAT EACH ONE IS DOVE TAILED BOTH FRONT AND BACK. THIS PIECE IS 42' TALL X 9' DEEP. IT STARTS OUT AT 8 1/4' WIDE AND THEN GRADUALLY GETS WIDER AND WIDER TO THE BASE WHICH IS 22 1/2' WIDE. I DO NOT KNOW THE AGE OF THIS PIECE-IT HAS AN OLDER LOOK TO ME. BUT COULD BE MADE TO LOOK THAT WAY. IT IS SOLID WOOD THRU OUT AND IS HEAVY. Refinished Dome Top Victorian Steamer Trunk Antique Chest With Straps & Buckles
Nice Refinished Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk With Straps& Buckles Here is a nice refinished arch top or dome top steamer trunk from around the late 1800's to 1900 or so. We purchased this one already finished by someone else. We didn't really like the way it was when we received it. So we went ahead and finished it out a little bit better. This one has a combination of fancy embossed metal which is in a leaf and flower pattern on the top and front. The rest of the trunk must have been paper which they removed to expose the wood on the sides and the back. The wood appears to be pine and the outer slat boards look like poplar. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 32 inches. From floor to top is approximately 20 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 17 inches. The front latches were ... moremissing on this trunk, so we put a pair of Amish made leather straps with roller buckles up the front and across the top where the latches should have been. These straps with buckles hold the top secure to it's base when buckled as would the latches if they were there. The wood appears to be finished with a couple of coats of clearcoat. The metal has been painted in a couple of different colors. The fancy metal looks like a silverish color while the cap metal on the slat boards have been done up in gold leaf, and the flat metal is in black. The lock looks to be original. It is not in working condition because the top part that goes into the lock mechanism is missing the engagement part. The lock probably works, but it will not fasten to anything since the top part is missing that engagement part. We did receive this trunk pretty much the way it is and simply gave it some improvement. The side handles were not on it, so we have put on a pair of Amish made black leather stitched straps. Going to the interior, the paper lining has been removed and the wood has been finished with two coats of polyurethane. The bottom has been covered over with a new bottom which has been fastened

An antique miniature chest with wonderful dovetail joints. Footed. It sits on 4 legs. 19 th Century. There is paint on the bottom. Original paint. Lovely warm patina. There are hints of green paint on the outside. This is a beautiful primitive. I measure just over 17 ¼ inches tall by about 26 ¾ inches wide by just under 14 inches deep. A hard to find size. Weighs about 24 pounds. It looks like both hinges have been moved a time or two. There is an inlay patch on the lid near the keyhole. The key hole is quite worn. I’m not sure of the type of wood. The lock is off. There is part of the lock loose on the inside. The box inside may be called a keeper or keepsake or candle box. This little cabinet is made of mahogany and dates from the early ... moreVictorian period. The cabinet is raised on four turned mahogany feet. The case contains four well constucted dovetailed drawers; two over two. The drawers all have old cream porcelain glazed circular knobs. The lower two drawers have faux ivory diamond shaped escutcheons. The lower with brass lock fitted. The middle drawer has no lock and the escutcheon is really for display and probably inlaid to give the front of the cabinet symmetry. The cabinet is finished with an overhanging mahogany top. Condition: The cabinet is in good used antique condition. The wood is wax polished. Has developed a good aged patina and has marks relating to age and use. The back RHS foot plinth has been replaced at some point as can be seen in the images of the back and underside of the cabinet. The RHS of the cabinet has an age related crack at the top corner. This does not compromise the function of the cabinet. The glaze on the porcelain knobs has crazed and they have some very minor age related surface marks. Primitive Antique Blanket Chest Folk Art Wood Miniature Mini Trunk Fruit Crate
Awesome primitive folk art miniature wooden blanket chest. Made from an old fruit crate. All components of box show traces of having been gleaned from a fruit crate the box is in excellent shape, and measures 8" long by 3 3/4" wide and 3 1/4" tall. There are three tiny nail holes visible on top of box lid one in front center, and two on right side edge, which are remnants of when piece was a packing crate please see last photo. The front of box has a beautiful scallop design and still retains faint pencil layout lines. Original to the creation of the piece. Both sides of the mini blanket chest have footed arched features which join and compliment the scalloped arched front. The interior of box is where the origin of this unique piece is hidden, the wooden interior reveals the writing, advertising of the original fruit crate ... moreof which it was made. The bottom of lid is partially labeled"produce of USA united packing company" circled(27) The interior sides read"deluxe quality" and"pack" The top of lid is a beautiful bow type top it's thick and smooth from years of use. The entire piece is securely put together with tiny nails. Beautiful wood grain piece. Box is hinged with old brass hinges see pictures for more detail. Up for auction is a nice older small chest or trunk that is stamped with the label Henderson-Ames Co. Kalamazoo, MI. It measures 22" long X 12" high X 13" deep. It's labeled on the side with what you see in the pic. And overall in good shape both inside and out for its age.
