For sale is a wonderful vintage chest made for storing silver/ silverware or maybe even jewelry? I'm not sure. But it could be used for a variety of things and is such a great find for that eclectic, Hollywood Regency look! I'm not sure but I believe it is vintage because of the handles are very similar to other pieces I've had from the 1940's to 1960's. Plus I can't imagine they would make modern pieces for the purpose of storing silver, but then I may be wrong. The top tray flips open for red velvet-lined storage. The velvet is in great shape- no rips or stains. But it may need a vaccuuming. This portion measures 4.75"tall x 19" wide x 13" deep. The top drawer is false to accomodate for the flip top. The second and third drawers are also lined with red velvet. The velvet is in great shape- no rips or stains. But it may need a vaccuuming. These drawers measure 2 1/8" high x 18" wide x 13" deep. Lastly the bottom doors open up for a 11.5" high x 14.75" deep x 19" wide storage. This piece has been painted recently to an off-white/ ivory/ eggshell white. The beautiful handles are brass. In very good condition except for a small. 2- 3" flaw on the top of the flip lid(please see the photos below) I'm not sure what this is- looks somewhat like a split in the top layer of the wood? It doesn't go all the way through and doesn't look like it will flake off. It definitely does NOT detract from the operation of beauty of it, but I thought it was worth mentioning nonetheless. The trunk has the original Jensen Trunk Factory label inside the hinged lid. The trunk is made of wood, with a nice brown covering that is mainly intact, and metal reinforced seams. There is no key with it, and therefore the main lock on the front does not work. The trunk also has two latches, one on each side of the main lock, that are a unique design and work well. The trunk also has other labels on it from travel, but I am unable to make out any dates. The trunk is 12” tall, 7.5” deep, 24” long and 14.5” wide.

RARE Antique Duophoto Copier from 1930's New York Patent #2127601 Wood Chest
This is a very rare antique. It is a Duophoto copier from the 1930's. The patent# is 2127601 and it was made in New York. This was one of the first electrified copiers which paved the way for companies like Xerox. I have not seen another like it anywhere online. So information is very hard to come by on this piece. I was able to find the patent papers on google which I have included in the last photo. This is an attractive antique with the original iron latches and leather straps on the sides. The chest opens up to show the copier surface of glass. there are compartments on each side. There is also a drawer on the bottom of the chest in the front.The right side has some electrical components and a cord that can be plugged into the wall. There is a very cool timer on the front which still works. There is also a knob that is marked Positive ... moreand Negative. On the side of the chest has a switch and a place to plug in the female end of an electrical cord. There is a vent in the back. I unscrewed the vent to show you the inside of the chest. There are light bulbs lining the inside perimeter of the box. There are yellow bulbs and white bulbs that alternate. All bulbs are present. The front of the chest has a great metal name plate that says the name of the company and information about this particular copier. It doesn't work at the moment. I suspect some rewiring is needed. It measures 29"x 15 3/4" x 13 3/4" I would guess that it weighs around 40 pounds. There are some places where the wood is chipping on the sides, but this isn't too severe. Nice Refinished Antique Curve Top Steamer Trunk With Nice Polished Metal and Interior Tray Here is a very nice clean. Refinished fancy embossed patterned metal arch top steamer trunk from the late 1800's. Here are this beautiful trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 34 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 23 1/2 inches. And from front edge to back edge is 19 1/2 inches. This nice trunk is made up of original fancy square or checkered patterned metal along with oak outer slat boards. We wire wheeled the fancy metal to bring it up to a nice shine which is probably very close to what it looked like back when it was sold in the 1800's. We also refinished the outer slat boards by giving them three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. Overall, this trunk is in very nice condition. We brush painted the rest of the metal ... moreby hand in black and gold leaf. The fancy metal is polished, not painted. This one has the original lock. It is missing the key hole cover. It does work with the key we have provided. Since the key hole cover is missing, the key has less guidance into the lock. With some practice, you can engage and disengage the lock with the key. The front latches are original and do work since the springs are still intact. The side handles were missing and have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps. We say Amish made because we obtain all of our leather items for these refinished trunks from an Amish man here in Pennsylvania near our home. This would be a fabulous trunk to put at the foot of the bed and store blankets and other clothing items inside, and it is sturdy enough to sit upon the top if you need to do so while changing your clothing. To tell you the truth, this trunk would look nice anywhere inside your home where storage space is needed. Gorgeous Refinished Antique Flat Top Steamer Trunk With Straps& Buckles. Working Lock With Key, and Two Original Interior Trays Here is an absolutely beautiful fancy refinished flat top steamer trunk from the late 1800's to around 1900 or so. If you have been waiting for the magnificent trunk with a tremendous amount of hardware. Then this one is definitely the one for you. It is hard for us to find trunks throughout the year that are really nice like this one. Here are the trunk's di mensions: from left to right across the front is 32 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 22 1/2 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 21 inches. This beauty is made up of pine base wood with oak outer slat boards. The wood has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. The wood is in pretty good condition with some typical older ... moredistress marks which include nicks and dings in various places along with some hairline stress cracks. Just about all of the trunks that we refinish have these older character marks or distress marks, most of which have accumulated over time. The edge banding on the sides of this trunk is made up of some type of composition. It has some typical small splits or stress cracks in it, one of which we have shown in a close up picture so there won't be any surprises. The metal parts that make up this trunk are not brass, therefore we have brush painted the metal by hand in black and gold leaf. This trunk maker went all out and put lots of fancy hardware on this trunk. This beautiful trunk comes with the original signed working lock. Look at the close up picture and you will see it is signed, Eagle Lock Co Terryville Conn" We have matched up a key for you that does work properly with this lock. This trunk originally came with leather straps with buckles. This chest was made and used about 85 years ago in the late Taisho period(c. 1925) The chobadansu, or document chest with locking drawers and doors, was used to store an individual's or shop's accounts, documents, and valuables(note: key included) This tansu chest is made of solid kiri(paulownia) wood and hardened hinoki wood peg construction(see pictures 10& 11) All the hardware is made of hand forged copper. All drawers as well as doors move easily without binding. The chest has five drawers. And two sliding doors. The key seen in picture 9 operates both drawer locks as well as the door lock. Antique Japanese Calligraphy Portable Chest 11inx7.5inx8in 3 Drawers & Lift Top
DESCRIPTION I am a 12 year veteran buyer/seller on Ebay. Now selling twice a year. In October and April. Most listings are antique or vintage Asian pieces with a few vintage European decorative items. I will have some vintage fine gold and silver jewelry as well. My 30 listings this month will be available till April 28th. A wonderful Meiji portable chest meant for caligraphy. Built with hardwood of the best quality. Called zelkova, from the Japanese serrata elm tree family. The grain is a warm brown with lighter tan striations and curves. The metal ware is copper cut in simple designs except for the front pieces of the three drawers and ornate lock. This piece was varnished originally. And was cleaned off and revarnished more recently. You can see the darker tones around the metal pieces. It measures 11 inches long by 8 inches high by 7.5 ... moreinches wide. There are three drawers of different sizes that fit snugly all the way across the chest. The top is hinged with a working round snap latch. That is pushed in to lift the lid using the handle. It covers another compartment finished in black enamel, that will accomodate the larger calligraphy tools. This pieces was acquired at an American auction and that time it was indicated that it belonged to the Takeda family estate. The base is marked with a logo representing a mountain and a symbol underneath, this was burned in the surface. Condition is very good but not perfect. I think if you compare it to similar pieces from the same period of mid-Meiji period or 1885. It is a collectable item with no major issues. As stated, a revarnish was done at some point which removed the wood`s dark patina as well as the copper`s. If left alone, all surfaces would be evenly dark. All the metal surfaces are clean and smooth with no errosion. A few copper head nails are missing and the lock`s key is missing. The smallest drawer at top right shows signs of a black ink spill on the left side(see images) The wood is in good shape. The lid has a bit of warping on the left edge as most

There are quite a few flaws so I took lots of pictures to show its condition. The latch works well and it still lines up properly. There are no screws or nails attaching the handle and it is a little loose. All four legs are sturdy. It is 11.5" tall at the highest point and 11" wide. The pictures say the rest. Here we have a small antique wooden hope chest or document box. the wood has a beautiful golden patina. the lid is chamfered and the sides are canted. there is a latch to receive a lock( see photo 4) there are handles on both sides of the box. the inside was painted red at some time. the paint is not as old as the box. the overall size is 15 inches long( 18 inches long with the handles) by 8 inches wide. it stands 6 inches tall. the piano hinge that secures the lid to the box. The felt lined inside has precise fitting felt lined cut out locations for 2 cut glass decanters with stoppers and a cut glass container in-between. Inside the center container is a old piece of tape with the inscription" Dick's dad brought from Germany year 1860" The beautifully crafted box has some of the inlaid wood in the corners missing and one of the cut glass stoppers has a chip on the bottom part which goes inside the decanter and is not noticeable. Antique tool chest wood carpenter primitive late 1800's
Old primitive tool chest from the late 1800s. Made in Scotland. It belonged to George Roland, the Scottish grandfather of the owner(who is now in her 80s) Grandfather was 94 when he passed away in 1950. Tool box was passed down to owner's father. And there are alter ations and wear. The fabric bulldog decal was affixed by the owner in about 1970 when it was passed to her from her father. And her husband used it. Aside from that, this is in great condition considering it is nearly 150 years old. It is complete with good straps and buckles. No key for the lock. The leather is all in good condition. Just normal edge wear that is expected for something of this age. The interior is in nice clean condition. I do see one of the little metal legs on the bottom is missing. The hinges work properly. This is a mahogany custom ball and claw Chippendale storage chest with a gadroon edge. Carved front, raised panel drawers and cedar lining. ... moreIt was made so it go anywhere in the house, and looks just like a Chippendale low boy, with all mahogany on the outside and cedar lined on the inside. This particular model is better than average, with a gadroon or rope edge on top. Norm, our refinisher, brought it in and re-sprayed the top and paste filled it, and now it’s just as smooth as a baby’s bottom. It has carved columns with acanthus carved leaves, big clamshell carving in the center of the simulated drawer fronts on the top of the cavity, and underneath is a real dovetail drawer which is unusual. It’s all finished off with a ball and claw foot. The top does have a lock that has been disabled. The top opens to expose the cedar-lined interior. The cool thing about these chests is that no matter how old they get, or how long you have them, any time you want to refresh the cedar, you can just take some sandpaper and sand it down a bit, and the cedar freshens instantly. It’s a gorgeous cabinet, with heavy cast brass hardware, and it was obviously made by someone really talented because it’s of better quality than a Lane or other popular chests. It measures 41-1/2 inches in height or length. 22-1/2 by 22-1/2 inches in width and depth. It is totally original. It is a light beige colored tweed, with a dark brown leather trim throughout. Inside(left side) there are 4 drawers with beautiful pull handles. On the opposite side is set up for your clothing with wooden hangers. It has the original curtain, clothes bag, and another small compartment in the bottom closed off by another curtain. Eastlake 1875 Antique Tall Chest with Mirror. Jewelry Drawers. An exceptionally well crafted late Victorian or Eastlake period tall chest of drawers with a swivel mirror dates from about 1875. Solid walnut with burl panels. The satiny finish is in excellent condition with warm patina. The mirror has just enough"smoke" to show its age, it is mounted above two small jewelry drawers. All drawers have round or"pin and cove" dovetail joints, characteristic of the age. Engraved brass hardware is of the period. But not original to the piece, for unknown reasons. Five lower drawers were latched with a"sidelock" mechanism- at the right side is a hinged column secured the drawers, but the lock is missing. It has writing on the underside of the top lid that says Cooks companion or Meal chest. It seems to be missing the two front drawers on either side but everything else looks complete. I have included a copy of the patent. The chest measures 12 1/4 inches X 5 1/4 inches X 8 3/4 inches high. I will promptly answer any questions you may have via email. Antique KOREAN CHEST for Combs & Other Personal Articles.
An antique comb case is offered in this sale. Purchased in South Korea where it is known as bitjup. Comb cases were used by both men& women during the Yi Dynasty to store the sets of combs they used in their hair styles. This plain style was probably the property of a man or someone of either gender from the rural area. Base measures 13 inches across. 6 inches in depth, 6 1/2 inches in height. When the mirror is attached it measures a total of 23 inches tall. 3 drawers of different shapes& sizes held the combs or other trinkets and are very desired today for sewing or desk supplies. In addition to the swivel mirror at top; there is a small mirror set in the top between the drawers. Wood surfaces show very few blemishes which would be expected from years of use. Antique Chinese Lychee Wood Chest
RELISTED WITH PRICE DROP& FREE US SHIPPING Antique lychee wood Chinese chest circa 1850-1875. 31" w x 21" d x 13" h. Beautiful working of front and side panels. Partially nailed construction using hand made nails. Top has been broken into three pieces. These can be repaired, but we are leaving that as an option to the buyer who may prefer a professional reconstruction. The right side panel of the lid is missing the lower half. The left side matches and can be used as a template for constructing a replacement. This family heirloom was gifted to an officer in the Army Corps of Engineers around 1938, stationed in Beijing, who was told it was 75 years old at that time. Actual Chinese region of origin is unknown to us. This item was appraised in 1977 at a selling price of $5,000, however this was prior to the damage which occurred ... morein 2010 by movers. The item is shown in the pictures sitting on a modern table frame with no top that happens to fit the chest fairly well, but is not part of the item itself. Sorry for the image quality. This is an antique trunk off an old buggy. The best we could tell. It is from the 1800s. Great condition for something that is 150-200 years old. These are very hard to find. I do not have the key, but it is unlocked. Very nice piece.
