Stunning flame mahogany veneers grace the surfaces of this ... morepiece and are decorated with intricate contrasting inlay. An inlay medallion of a lamp has been placed atop the swivelling mirror. Two smaller locking drawers are aligned over four larged drawers. Providing ample storage space. All the drawers are made with high quality dovetail construction. The entire piece is raised off of the ground by short tapered square legs sitting on brass and wood casters. Overall. This piece is in very good condition. There are some drip marks along the top edge of the mirror(from glue or wood finish, see picture) but no cracks or other damage. The wood has some wear associated with age, including chips and minor breakage to the veneers or inlay. See pictures. There is also a chip out of the left side finial and the right top drawer is missing its lock. The wood is cracked around the lock hole on the inside of the drawer. The wheels of the casters do no turn easily and probably need to be oiled. No other breaks or repairs. The dresser stands 70 1/4" tall and is 40" wide and 21" deep. Chest of drawers has a tiger stripe veneer, in overall great condition, but veneer has some cracking on the front corners. This piece is roughly 4 ft tall x 4 ft wide x 2 ft deep, and it has 4 full drawers as well as 5 small accessory drawers. The drawers have dovetail joints. Some of the drawer bottoms on the full drawers are coming apart, could be easily repaired. There are dust frames in between the full drawers. It is being sold as is. Offered for sale is this rare 1800's Dresser/ Chest top mirror stand. It just does not get any better than this. This piece has 3 drawers. A mirror that swivels on the 2 upright arms and the entire piece is made of dovetailed oak which has a rich patina. I am not sure you can see it in the pictures but the middle drawer and mirror have a thin light maple inlay around the perimeter. This piece is real craftmanship at it's finest. It has an awesome design with the middle drawer offset from the 2 side ones and the mirror support arms divided and elegantly curved. The whole thing sets on small bun feet. It measures about 27 1/2" tall by 19" wide by 10" deep. I wish I was a better photographer because I do not think these photos do it justice. It was sitting over an A/C vent I do not know for sure but I believe that may have dried it out and caused the veneer to start chipping. If the right person knew how to fix or restore the veneer it would be perfect piece. The Green Italian Marble top is in pristiene condition. as are the drawers, legs and ornate brass fixtures. Massachusetts c. 1805-15- Oak Leaf Basket Inlay White Pine and Mahogany secondaries; Mahogany primaries; Rosewood bun feet; Mixed wood inlay Item# 120009UQR12 This is a beautiful miniature chest of drawers from the American Federal Period. Probably Massachusetts c. 1805-15. With a well preserved surface under a later polishing, the overall character of the oxidized and dark finish against the fine ribbed mahogany grains of the chest is compelling to say the least. The projecting top is a solid board with an ovular inlaid basket overflowing of oak-leafage with other foliage over an ebonized ground. The sides of the case dovetail into the floor of the chest and are ... morenailed to the top, stretched against the three drawer blades that tenon into either side of the case. The face of the chest is a perfectly graduated set of four drawers, each with a pair of original carved knobs over a ribbed mahogany facade, each dovetailed front and back with a white pine bottom, chamfered around the edges along the underside. While we can't decipher the inscription, the bottom drawer has a teal tone scrolling that might shed light on the history of the object with further research The back of the chest is a single board of white pine, a hand planed replaced piece that is affixed attached to the chest with replaced interior blocking lining the inside. The chest rests over turned and round Rosewood bun feet that tenon through and into the bottom of the chest. A very nice find for any serious collector of period miniature boxes. With clean lines and very careful craftsmanship, this is an investment grade selection for collectors of period Federal furniture. A very finely made antique. Circa 1810, Federal, or Sheraton, flame mahogany veneered and solid mahogany secretary desk over chest of drawers. Two piece construction. The top section has two narrow drawers over two doors that open to two cubbyholes each with slots and two narrow drawers. Below is the chest, the top with a pull forward mahogany writing frame and original green felt. Below are four graduated drawers. It retains all the original brass knobs, locks, and brass escutcheons. The case is on four turned mahogany legs, solid mahogany case boards. It measures 56" tall by 41-1/2" wide by 20-1/2" deep, the writing frame 38" by 13" the felt surface 34" by 11-1/2" Very good plus condition: original finish, attractive butterflying of the flame veneers. Superb Antique Pennsylvania Cherry Early Sheraton Chest Of Drawers Circa 1810's Western to Central Southern PA circa 1810-1820 Once you look at this chest of drawers. You will notice the excellent craftsmanship! this chest is built like a brick loo-house! it is finely finished, and well executed. the ring turned quarter columns and feet. Are typical of south central/western PA(Franklin County area and west to Bedford) and Northern Maryland. This is undoubtedly the nicest Sheraton Chest we have ever handled! The entire case is dovetailed constructed. Of solid cherry, the 2 board sides are solid, same with the top, which is applied, over a white cedar/pine 4 board slat frame which is dovetailed into the case. the bottom board is dovetailed into the base, which is two boards of white cedar/pine. The drawers are cherry with white cedar/pine ... moresecondary woods. And unusually nice tongue and groove board bottom, which are hand chamfered into the base of the drawer case. the drawer bottoms and back are nailed on with square cut nails. the drawers are all cockbeaded around the edges in cherry. And have diamond inlaid escutcheons. the ring turned feet are mortised up into the bottom of the case. And then nailed into the sides. the prolific use of white cedar/and pine as a secondary wood in this chest is quite unusual. Some have suggested that this chest is of New England Origin. However, upon examining the construction details, it is deduced this chest is indeed of Pennsylvania or Nothern Maryland origin. We had a walnut chippendale desk a few years ago. That came out of the Gettysburg, PA area with the nearly identical usage of white cedar/pine and same ring turned quarter columns. we believe the glass knobs are replacements of much earlier brass knobs. they are however. Very nice, and undamaged by the years. the finish is 100% original and untouched. And has mellowed over time to a nice warm red colour. there are absolutely no repairs and or restorations to speak of. the back has a few new round head nails to help hold
