It has age related issues and will need some TLC. There are some small holes but nothing big. It has some stains that I have not tried to clean for fear of doing more harm than good. a highly decorative victorian bedspread. This particular piece has been worked for a draped bed. Long side against the wall as there is only one large valance on one side of the throw. This will be as lovely in a romantic bedroom as on a chaise longue in the veranda or sun lounge. It will not fear to spread ona garden bench. It is in excellent antique condition without holes or stains. As on the pictures I guessed a hint of yellowing. I have carefully handwashed this since(yes, it is possible:o) I was a bit scared of these hundreds of raised roses but in fact they were most easy to lift. seems this has been thought over by a clever knitter! An 1800s elm blanket box/ chest. Wonderfull colour/ patina and elm grain detail. Hand forged iron lid hinges. Recently wax polished so all ready for the home. Fully treated throughout and guaranteed for woodworm as the chest had suffered in the past as seen in the pictures, some areas around the top edges to the interior are filled, its very common for elm to be attacked by worm. It is in eceelent condition and both sides of the weaving are photographed. The weaving measures a single saddle balnket size of 31" x 32" It is tightly woven with great skill and technique. VINTAGE ANTIQUE LARGE WWI WOOL ARMY BLANKET 1930s 1940s 176 x 157cm / 69” x 62”
This army blanket belonged to my partner’s maternal grandfather who fought in WWI. There are no fabric composition labels on it but it is made of wool and weighs 1270g(unpackaged weight) It measures 176cm x 157.5cm(69.3” x 62” and has been photographed on a double bed to give you an idea of size. The two shorter edges are hemmed with large stitches. On one of these edges about 6cm of the stitching is loose and the edge is starting to fray- please see photos. There is general colour fading and wear in the form of bobbling and a raised nap all over the blanket but no holes or tears. Recently freshly laundered with mild detergent and cold water to avoid shrinkage. Then drip dried, not wrung, to avoid damage, and then laid flat to dry to avoid stretching. Each‘square’ of the pattern measures approx. 14 x 11cm(5.5” x 4.3” measuring the inside ... moreof each square. ~*~Hello and thank you for looking~*~ A fascinating find! This wonderful length of fabric is an antique French homespun fabric dating from the 19th century. I was told that this piece was used for donkey blankets from the woman that I purchased it from. I was told it came from a farm in Southern France. I've never seen another like it! ~ It is a very early piece. Institutionally I would have placed it at the very early 19th century, however the weave have a very similar nub and texture to many many 18th century fabrics which I am very familiar with, so not sure exactly of the date. This textile is hand woven using what feels to me to be a blend of linen, wool and cotton. Gorgeous dense weave, with nubby surface. The stripe is a wonderful, deep indigo blue! ~ The tone of the ground is a warm aged tone, ivory ~*~ This textile is hand stitched ... morewith hems on each end. I have freshly laundered and pressed this fabric and it's ready to use. I have found many tiny hairs on this fabric, even though I have laundered it, almost certainly from the donkey on which it was placed! I have removed most but there are almost certainly a few remaining, part of it's history! ~*~ A rare and beautiful find ~*~ Ideal for any genuine aged, period interior. ~ ~~*~ ~( FF 5) MEASUREMENTS: This wonderful panel measures 144 inches long( 12 feet long! by 25 inches wide( I have two matching panels of this lovely fabric. An old original fab steamer chest with lots of metal banding and end cap brackets. It is a original steamer chest from circa 1900's and would have been used on the ships of old Metal handles at each side. Front locks and clasps there is no longer any key for the middle lock long gone. Four hardwood slats on top with one at the front and back also. It is approx. half the height of the standard ones. So would be great for any room in the house to make a great look and not take up to much space. The chest has a nice shiny bri wax finish. It measures 80x72. It has a seam going straight down the center and has lost some fringe due to the age of the piece. After reviewing the piece I found about 4 to 5 areas where there was a small hole/ repair or thinning. I took pictures of the ones that I could. This is standard wear for a coverlet of this period. This blanket is very beautifully detailed with so many interesting designs which include; 2 awesome elephants with their trunks wrapped around beautiful trees and flowers and leaves with birds and serpents. MEASUREMENTS: 37 1/2" wide x 27 1/2" tall x 19" deep. The front and side planks are 21 1/2" one plank. I bought this chest in an antique store in Connecticut according to the seller that piece is from England but it could be an early New England piece and it's over 100 years old. Condition: one hinge is broken. One hinge is loose and the molding is starting to separate from one corner of the lid(see pictures) The cover(lid) has some scratches on it. There are some splits in the wood on the inside bottom of the chest and a few on the lid(see pictures) It is 19” deep x 42” long x 21”high. It has hand cut molding around the bottom and molding around 3 sides of the cover. The hinges are the original hand wrought iron. Inside there is a till box. It has handmade dovetail joineries indicating that it is an early piece. The original handmade lock with key is still in it. Real Old Antique US Army Blanket - possible Civil War vintage - US Engineers
I received this blanket from a friend. Who claims it was issued to his great uncle during the Spanish American War. Chain stitched in flowing script above one of the end-stripes is the notation"USE Sacramento District. This designates this blanket as once being the property of the US Army's Corps of Engineers at Sacramento, California. The Sacramento District is officially listed in the rolls as being organized in 1914, but it's actual history goes further back, to the last quarter of the 19th century. A lot of Civil War surplus blankets continued to be re-issued well into WWI. I'll let you be the judge. This blanket measures 76 inches long by 63 inches wide. It has a 3" stripe at each end. The top stripe is 6" from the end. But the bottom stripe is only 5" from it's end, as that end has frayed(see last ... morephoto) The blanket has four small scattered holes, and a hand sized stain which is centered on the left side. Any other discolorations in the photos are the fault of lighting, and not color variations or other sorts of defects in the blanket itself. Two of the holes are along the left hand side of the blanket, with the largest being located at the top. It is about the size of a dime. The other two holes are fairly small and located above the writing. I have set white arrows in one picture to show, as best I can, their exact locations. This would make an excellent blanket for any Civil War through WWI equipment display. The"USE" notation can easily be hidden through folding. Or even removed entirely if you so desire. Tuareg are a Berber people with a traditional nomadic lifestyle. Most live in the Sahara parts of Niger. Mali, Algeria. This leather camel blanket displays vivid and warm colors of brown, tan, red, and green with fringed edges. Blanket is 18 inches wide and 45 and 1/2 inches long. Antique vintage Navajo blanket throw exquisite design!
Antique vintage Navajo blanket Measurements- 70"64" Description and condition- good antique/vintage condition. Some marks. And spits as pictured. Cloth lining has tears, as pictured. One rip of blanket, as pictured. Overall fairly clean for being quite old. Color scheme is blue to light blue and tan to light tan, gradually fading one into another. Boasting an opposite color scheme on the opposite side, as pictured. Color change in fabric, and design is exquisite. Very very soft. For its time was made with very high quality material/ yarn. Earlier Navajo blankets were made to be sleeping blankets. This is a soft sleeping blanket. Later on in the late 1800's was when native Americans predominantly made courser lower quality blankets, because white tourists, whom the native Americans frequently sold to preferred to use them as ... morerugs. Antique Woven Wool Small Change Purse with Navajo Blanket Type Design
Let me start by saying that I am not an expert in Native American crafts or art. I am using my general knowledge in regards to dating items. Coupled with a bit of research, to formulate'best guesses' Please rely on your own expertise in evaluating this item. This is a lovely small woven wool purse. The geometric patterns and the colors are most often associated with Navajo designs. It looks like it could have been made from a larger textile. Because of the fact that it looks like a piece of a larger design. Perhaps this was a way to repurpose a piece that was worn out. The wool fabric is backed with a sort of burlap fabric, and then the purse is lined with silk. The silk is very thin, and has deteriorated somewhat. All of the stitching is hand sewn. The zipper was made by Talon, and has the name imprinted on it, with a leather string ... moreattached to the pull ring. Talon is a the first American zipper company, and started in the US in 1893, so this is consistent with the approximate age of the purse. I think this would date around the early 1900s up to the 1920s. With all things considered. I think it's possible that the wool textile is older than some of the other components. There is also some red thread on the back of the purse that looks to be more modern than the rest of the piece and must have served some purpose later. I think it would be better to remove those. But I leave that up to the buyer. Lastly. My descriptions are accurate, but my conclusions may or may not be. Approximately 6 1/2" long x 4 1/2" high

a good victorian pine box with an inside lift out. Or slide along sectioned shelf, i cant see any worm, but its been treated now, with the stripping lotion, hand stripped and waxed with a stripped pine wax, there will be knock marks small splits etc, its exactly as youd expect for the age and useage, there is a small added bit to bottom right corner as shown in photo, delivery eng/wales will be by courier, or self arrange collection, the top is 2 planked and a thin gap at the seam.the top measures 95 x 52 cm, and its 40 cm tall
