And I'm only selling it cause my ex said to. It is the true Peaceful Warrior's warm winter covering; the Hippie Princess will dance with delight. Actually I was told a guy could wear it too, but I am so enchanted with it it's hard to pass on to someone else. I do not see any flaws in the material. It is a Dazzle stripe pattern in Burgundy. This is a vintage/antique Stroock buggy blanket. In very good used condition. It is a beautiful pattern of geometric shapes/foliage with vibrant blooming red roses in the corners and bright yellow/tan squares in the center. The unique design looks fantastic both up close and far away. On the back of the blanket is the original Stroock tag. It has one small hole(shown in the 2nd pic) on the front about 3" from the side that is less than 1/2" long and is more like a slit. It's on the black part so it's hard to see unless you're up close. On the same corner on the back, it has a different small hole(shown in the 3rd pic) which is about 1" long and 1/4" wide, and it is about 1/4" from the edge. It doesn't have any tags or identifying markings, although it is obvious it is very well-made and is probably a name brand such as Chase or Stroock. The coloring is distinct and interesting and appears almost as stripes throughout. The blanket has various wear marks on the front, and a few could almost be considered holes. Most still have the string through the middle of the"holes" all are 1" or less in width, and most of the wear marks are substantially smaller than that. VINTAGE/ANTIQUE CANADIAN PACIFIC RAILWAY (CPR) SLEEPER CAR BLANKET
For sale is a very interesting blanket embroidered with the Canadian Pacific logo as well as“Rgd” as pictured. It measures 72” long by 55” wide and I believe it to be a sleeper car blanket. Although the manufacturer’s tag is missing. I’m quite sure it is wool and my research suggests these blankets were possibly made by Paton Manufacturing of Sherbrooke Quebec, Canada. One of the business partners of Paton Mfg. George Stephen, was one of the builders and the first president of the CPR. Considering its age. I would say it is in reasonably good and useable condition, although there are three holes, several other blemishes and a lot of fraying on the edge binding all around. The center of the blanket is brown with bright design in red, teal, yellow and black on each end. The blemishes include a hard dark mark to the right and below the word‘Pacific’ ... moreand a white mark around‘Canadian’ which appears to be worse in the photo than it actually is. Up for auction an antique(late 19th C) Organic wool, homespun, 2-panel blanket with a hand done seam in the middle. The blanket is light creamy and has light blue stripes at ONE end. Measures approx. 68" x 56" each panel is approx. 28 inches wide. The blanket was well preserved, still in good vintage condition, with only one small delicate grayish stain(wisible when I put the blanket into the light) and one very small worn out spot, it shows yellowish at the stripped end, no holes nor other flaws. Small Antique Wooden Dovetailed Blanket Chest * Box * Footed Base * Square Nail
Here we have a stunning antique wooden dovetailed blanket chest or kindling box. with a footed base and large square nails. circa 1890 to 1920. the overall size is 19 inches long by 12 inches wide by 13 1/2 inches tall. the overhanging lid is 20 1/2 inches long by 14 inches wide. the feet are one inch tall. the large hand cut dovetails are tight and secure. But stunning as well. this is what draws you to it. the wood looks to be knotty pine. it has formed a wonderful golden patina on the overall appearance. there are two brass hinges securing the lid. the hinges are not old. there are no cracks or hairlines, but the front does show some scratches in the wood. the footed base may have been replaced at some time, but still looks great. see plenty of detailed photos. Also called a ditty box. There is a metal plate with the sailors name(F. Johnson) inscribed on the front of the lid. There is metal strapping all around with great patina. The key holes on the front are purely decorative as the locks have been removed at some point. This piece shows its age with some bumps, scrapes, and scratches. There have been some restorations over the years with some replaced parts and added nails. There are some misses in the right front and rear bottom corners that have not been restored. This piece has a great overall look and feel and brings a great presence to any room. If only things like this could talk, imagine the stories they could tell. Neat and very old buggy or stage coach blanket and it came out of a Nebraska farm sale and it has the usual wear you would expect for the age. Up for auction is a beautiful and unusual 1700's Chippendale style. Two drawer blanket chest refinished and ready to use. This is a beautiful primitive piece with raised storage and two pull out drawers. Wonderful antique details such as the original hinges and the cut Chippendale style legs. This is a wide plank pine chest with Chestnut drawers. Very unusual solid large boards where used from a time when pine could be harvested in this size. The hinges are hand hammered. Knot holes are tin covered to keep mice out. This piece measures 41 1/2" high x 39 1/2" wide x 18 3/4" deep. Here is a beautiful primitive piece with a lot of character.
