Here we have a stunning antique wooden dovetailed blanket chest or kindling box. with a footed base and large square nails. circa 1890 to 1920. the overall size is 19 inches long by 12 inches wide by 13 1/2 inches tall. the overhanging lid is 20 1/2 inches long by 14 inches wide. the feet are one inch tall. the large hand cut dovetails are tight and secure. But stunning as well. this is what draws you to it. the wood looks to be knotty pine. it has formed a wonderful golden patina on the overall appearance. there are two brass hinges securing the lid. the hinges are not old. there are no cracks or hairlines, but the front does show some scratches in the wood. the footed base may have been replaced at some time, but still looks great. see plenty of detailed photos. Antique Blanket ~ Woolen 3" Fabric Squares Joined With Undyed Wool Yarn Crochet
Museum worthy antique blanket composed of 3 inch woolen fabric squares. In a variety of patterns and colors, joined with careful crocheted hand-stitches using undyed wool yarn. This treasure measures 46" X 60' and carries the heavy scent of moth balls. I have noticed one two inch stain and one nail-hole sized fabric tear. I have also discovered small bits of straw embedded in a couple of the fabric squares. The maker left several yarn"tails" in her work, where she resumed her crocheting with a new skein of yarn. This blanket speaks of hard times and the need to make new things out of old.before there was such a word as"recycle. As you examine the photos, notice the nice way the blanket maker arranged the multicolor fabric squares to make a pattern. This is really wonderful.

Up for auction is a beautiful antique 19th century homespun blanket. It is 100% wool. A finer wool, and was found in southeastern PA. The color is an off-white, not a bright white, with the first picture being true to color. The blanket measures ~65" wide(selvedge to selvedge) x ~76" long. There is a center seam, but it is so meticulously joined, that it is hard to see(pictures 3 and 4) It also has a beautiful hand-stitched hem on the top and the bottom. Wonderful Antique Salesmans Sample Miniature BLANKET CHEST WOODEN 1800's
This is a wonderful antique primitive miniature wooden blanket chest with bun feet. It is in lovely condition with appropriate patina. It measures 8 1/2' long 5 1/4' wide and stands 5 1/2' tall. The maker created a wooden locking mechanism so that the drawer can stay secure with only the lid opening. You can see the peg in the photos. In the up position the drawer opens an closes, in the down position it stays secure. There is a lock though I don't have the key. There is nice shrinkage in the wood that I believe is pine and maybe walnut. I just am not sure, I don't know wood well enough to state a fact. Antique Primitive Lift Top Country Sheraton Cherry Blanket Chest
This wonderful early 19th century chest exemplifies many forms of old world wood construction. The lid appears to be pinned mortice and tenon. The sides and drawers are hand dovetailed, and the base is mortice and tenon. The drawer bottoms appear to be hand planed and fastened with square nails.The hardware appears to be original, but the latch is missing. Judging by the edges and evidence of past screw holes, the lid appears to have been reversed. You can also see that a latch cut-out is now at the back of the lid. All of the wood is solid and at least 1" thick. This a very fine antique that measures 44 inches long, 20 inches wide, and 31 inches high. This is an Indian blanket I bought at an antique shop in Bethlehem. Pennsylvania, USA, in 1990. A dealer in Indian artifacts tells me it is from Peru. It has been stored in a zippered bag for most of the years since I acquired it. I am fond of it, but am interested in selling it, as I am moving to a smaller place. The blanket measures 42" x 59" There is one small hole. Shown in one of the closeups. The hole is about 2 inches by 1 inch. There are two pinkie-sized holes on the border. Antique 1844 Signed Woven Jacquard Coverlet Blanket Joseph Avler Reist Bedcover
Hi. YOu are bidding on an antique 1844 signed Jacquard coverlet by Joseph de Avler Reist. It is 96 inches by 75 inches. It is actually two pieces that are stitched together to make the one coverlet. I think that this coverlet is beautiful. Each side is different. There is staining by possibly water that shows up more on the lighter side. I took lots of pictures. So imagine some light staining. After all. This is about 170 years old! And I am not sure how the edges are supposed to look. I can see that there are multiple 1844 dates and many signatures of Joseph de Avler Reist around the sides. The woven fabric is sturdy and it still is in fairly good condition. There are no breaks or rips other than occasional fraying on the edges. I think that you will find this coverlet historical and beautiful in its own way, light stains and all. ANTIQUE 19TH C. COARSE HOMESPUN WOOL BLANKET, CENTER SEAM, WONDERFUL COLORS
This antique 19th century homespun blanket is made from coarse wool. And has so much texture. It was found in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Based on its interesting color combination, it may well be Mennonite. The blanket measures 67" wide selvedge to selvedge, and 81" long. The hem on the top and bottom of the blanket, as well as the center seam, are neatly hand-stitched. This Early American textile was definitely made for daily use. And not for show. As you can see, the center seam of the two panels do not match, but I think this just contributes to its old-fashioned charm. There are about 10 small areas where the blanket has been darned, but nicely done, and I have photographed the largest darned area. There are no holes that I can see, and the blanket is clean. The close-ups are the only pictures that really do justice to the wonderful ... morecolor combination of this quilt. Very old. Antique baby blanket. It is like a quilt, fabric squares stitched together in front. Each square looks to be hand painted in like a fabric pen. Several of the squares are are ripped and there are stains on the fabric. Blanket/quilt is about forty inches by thirty two inches. Back fabric is all one piece. Up for auction an antique(late 19th C) Americana homespun, 2-panel blanket with a hand done seam in the middle. The blanket is light creamy and has light blue stripes at ONE end. Measures approx. 68" x 56" each panel is approx. 28 inches wide. The blanket was well preserved, still in good vintage condition, with only one small delicate grayish stain(visible when I put the blanket into the light) and one very small worn out spot, it shows yellowish at the stripped end, no holes. Sigmund US WW1 Era Antique Military Cavalry Horse Winter Blanket W/ Surcingle
This is a U.S. marked Military Cavalry winter horse blanket. The partial marking of Sigmund Eisner is on the inside lower edge of the back of the blanket(8th picture) the Sigmund marking is rather hard to make out as the blanket's edge is torn there. I have seen other Sigmund marked U.S. Military blankets that were marked 1917. So I am assuming that this also is a WW1 era blanket. There are also some lightly hand written numbers along the inside edge of the blanket(picture#9) The blanket measures 63" long along the bottom edge and across the center of the blanket it is 69" wide. The surcingle measures 80 1/2" This blanket is rather rare as it still has it's original surcingle. The two front adjustment straps are still attached to the blanket as well and the back strap for the rear of the blanket is there also. But there ... moreis a knot in it as seen in the 11th picture. Also in the same picture you can see where the back edge of the blanket is missing from that one side. On the exterior canvas of the back left quarter of the blanket there are numerous little holes and a tear right at the top seam of the blanket. As seen in the very last picture(12) Thru-out the canvas of the blanket there are several other singular holes much the same size as shown in the last picture, but most are several inches from each other. There are also several stains on the blanket and what looks to be a stain of maybe brownish paint on the left neck part of the blanket, as shown in the tenth picture. The inside lining of the blanket has a couple of small holes and these can best be seen in the 4th picture. The holes are towards the rear of the blanket. The horse served a vital part for the U.S. in WW1. All the major combatants began the conflict with Cavalry forces. Some U.S. troops were told in 1917 that the loss of a horse was of greater tactical concern than the loss of a human soldier- such was the vital importance of the horse to some who served. We depended on these horses during the War and this blanket is a nice

This auction is for an old doll. I bought this off of the original owner several years ago. It was a Christmas present to her. She said it came in the brown carboard box that the doll is in right now and will come with. The box is a bit beat up but it is there. Also the doll has a soft mattress bed that it is laying on that was made by her aunt along with a pillow. Both are actually stuffed with very old fabric remnants and the material is a soft cloth like material maybe even feedsack. There is also a small blanket quilt that belongs to the doll. All are apart of this lot and would not seperate them. The dolls itself is marked on the neck"A Horsman Doll" It has sleep eyes and measures approx. 21 inches long. Wrought iron Grab Lock Blanket hope chest box old antique key 1800's This is a hand wrought iron grab lock or blanket chest lock from the early 1800's. These Locks were mounted on the inside of blanket chests.When the lid is closed the lock grabs the keeper the chest is locked. The key must be used to unlock the lid. The lids are often broken because the key was dropped inside the blanket chest. All the parts were hand cut and then riveted together. This lock is in excellent condition with original keeper. There is very little wear for the age. The original keeper mounts under the lid. All the parts are in very good condition. This measures 5-1/2" tall 4" wide the key sleve sticks out 1" The top of the lock is 1-5/16'from front to back. The box part is 15/16" from front to back. Antique Coarse Wool Blanket c.1900 Poland? 65x84" Light Green Hand Stitched Edge
This is an antique coarse wool blanket. By family evidence. This can be dated back to the late 1800s or early 1900s. It possibly came from Poland when the family immigrated to the United States. The top and bottom edges have hand-stitched cotton fabric edges. Although the fabric pattern is the same on each edge, the color is different. One is more pink, and one is more yellow. It's not clear if this is by design or from aging. The blanket is light green; the color is most authentically seen in the first two photos. The later photos show size, but don't reflect the color very well. This measures 65" by 84" The pictures show it on a queen bed, although it would have been made for a double bed. This is likely manufactured at a mill, versus hand woven. Stitching shows that there may have been a label(see photo) The blanket is ... moreperfectly usable, although, in keeping with something this age, it does have several spots that are worn and repaired(see photos) It also has three spots of rust or something similar in one corner(see photo) All in all, this is a great antique wool blanket, perfectly usable on a bed, or as a decorative piece.
