Known to believe to have come from original family owners in a Trumbull County. Ohio a victorian estate; this incredible basin and pitcher have a raised design on basin with an ornate handle and scalloped mouth on pitcher. Great detailing of hand painted flowers on basin, trimmed in gold, there is some wear but this amazing set is in great condition considering it's age. This is a traditional full size set; Pitcher measures 11.5" high and 10" across the body. Basin measures 4.5" high and 18" across bowl. Very faint mark on bottom of pitcher is unclear to maker. Etruria Pottery White Ironstone Wash Basin 12" Pitcher Embossed circa 1863-1894
This is a large. Almost 12" high white Ironstone Water Pitcher most likely from a washbasin chamber set. It has the Etruria Pottery mark(Ott and Brewer) of Trenton, NJ, circa 1863-1894, and the words, Warranted Ironstone China" Embossed with a leaf pattern near the top where the handle meets. In very good condition with no chips or cracks, but does have all-over normal crazing for a piece it's age. It does have a slight yellow streak on the side that looks it is under the glaze(which I tried to show in the photo. It is an impressive and elegant piece. Beautiful 1923 Edwin M. Knowles Vitreous Pitcher& large Wash Basin bowl. For being 90 years of age it is in beautiful condition. There is a Chip in the top of the Pitcher but the Basin looks very nice. This is a very solid and would make an amazing piece to show off. This is a very large antique Johnson Brothers Ironstone/Semi Porcelain Washbasin and Pitcher. The bowl measures 17 1/4 across and 4 1/2 inches high. The pitcher measures 9 inches across and 11 1/2 inches high. The tag on the bottom(as purchased) says circa 1890-1915. It is in very good antique condition with no cracks or chips on the pitcher and mild crazing consistent with age. The washbasin has no cracks but a tiny flea bite on the underside which is not visible from above. There are some scratches on the bottom of the bowl where the pitcher sits but again consistent with age. Considering this is around 100 years old it is in very good condition. This set from Cronin of Fredericksburg would make a great addition to a country cottage or turn-of-the-previous century decor. The pitcher is gilded around its mouth and has embossed(raised) scroll work designs in the porcelain and has 3 clusters of pink and purple flowers around it's outerside. Beautiful vintage(possibly antique) pitcher that we rescued from an old barn that had collapsed. Surprisingly it was spared from the fallen wood and years of elemental exposure. I believe it is Japanese. It is orange with gold accents and looks to be hand painted. It measures 6 inches tall although the handle is slightly taller than the rim of the pitcher and the span from handle to tip of pour spout is about 7 inches. It is in overall good shape with some crazing. This to me looks like a pitcher you would see at an old wash basin. I see no chips. Cracks or repairs. There is a slight indentation that looks to have happened before this pitcher was fired. The design painted on the pitcher is birds and flowers. It is very nicely done. Vintage Pitcher and Wash Basin(could be from early 1900's) FALCON WARE. Made in England. Condition is excellent; value in set. Pitcher is 11.5 inches high to the highest point of spout. Bowl has 16.5 inch diameter which includes 1 1/4' lip all around. To my knowledge it has not been broken or repaired. I can not guarantee but I seen no evidence otherwise. The top glaze has fine lines in it as I'd expect from old porcelain. Inside the pitcher on its' floor one can feel some roughness about 1/2" ound. The pattern is captivating. See photo of cottage. The English cottage is repeated in various spots alternating with a flower bouquet. The pitcher on the bottom is engraved with MADE IN ENGLAND it is stamped with the same stamp on the bottom of the bowl where it is legible. Looks like what is on the bottom of the pitcher but fainter and partially there on the pitcher. The gold trim seems very intact. Normal wear but actually less than normal wear to me. I see a touch worn off the handle but it's charming as I'd expect it there. The bowl also has the floating 16(or is it 10? Background color best described as Creamy. This set is charming. Wonderful decorative piece. Not too fragile, large for a statement, and a pattern that could go in most informal spots. I used this in a very contemporary home! ANTIQUE VINTAGE ? WASH BASIN AND CHAMBER POT STAND WITH BOWL AND WATER PITCHER
I have put two separate pieces together here to come up with an amazing listing. I acquired the chamber bowl and water pitcher at an estate auction. It was listed as an 1896 Maddock& Sons chamber pitcher and bowl. The markings on both the bowl and pitcher are the same. John Maddock& Sons, Royal Vitreous, England. What I question is the 1896 as both the pitcher and bowl are in beautiful condition. I do not see any crazing and there are not cracks or chips. There are scuff marks on the bowl from the bottom of the pitcher but that is to be expected. The stand is structurally sound with one small issue with a crack in the wood on the towel rack. I have included a picture to show the damage. The stand also has some errant painting spills, although they are small they needed to be identified. Another pictures show these spots. White paint ... moreon the candle holder and inside the towel rack with some purple on the base where the chamber pot is placed I did have to replace the cracked mirror which looked as if it had been previously replaced before. The piece is easy to ship as it comes apart and assemblies without any tools. I will include a few pictures to ad in the assembly. Well this one is a puzzler: the wash basin bowl has the marking& symbol E.E.P.CO. written above a crown(all in a circle) porcelain written below the circle(shown in pic#3) after very extensive research I found it(YEAH) East End Pottery Co. East Liverpool, OH USA, date 1894-1908; the pitcher has the markings of Royal Crown Derby Co. roman numerals XI? which dates it 1948-1951 or 1956 as I have tried to show in pic#5. Both items are in excellent antique condition w/ no chips or cracks. The wash basin has some crazing but it is not noticeable really. It measures 16" diameter x 4" tall& the pitcher is 10" diameter x 12" tall. These are absolutely fantastic pieces that you need to see to believe! There was a gradually transition at Wilkinson from the more traditional Victorian motifs of the late 1900s to the bold Art Deco designs of Clarice Cliff of the 1930s. It is interesting to note that Clarice Cliff came to Wilkinson in 1916 when she was only 17 years old. Her interesting drawings brought her to the attention of the owner of Wilkinson and he let her experiment on some old stock blanks. By 1927. She was off studying in London and Paris. She then returned to Wilkinson and by 1929, her designs went into full production and the Wilkinson marks were changed to include her name. Some of her designs, like Firs, are known for their'stylized glimpses of the natural world' These poppies, with their deco style stems, are likely a precursor of the designs to come. This lovely set is decorated with bands of gold Greek key on either side of pink roses. It looks like the roses are a transfer which has been painted over and the Greek key is hand painted. The pitcher is marked with an impressed'Minton' and'BB' underneath which helps us date this piece. The impressed mark'Minton' was used from 1862-1872. BB' means'Best Body' The wash basin is of the same pattern but is marked with an'Mintons' and'BB' underneath which indicates this piece was made 1873-1890. The pitcher measures 11.75" high. It is 6.25" across the widest part of the body and the base is 4.5" wide. Condition ... moreof the pitcher is good, antique piece- light crazing, there is a minor stain on the interior, a tiny chip to the gilt of the lip, a daub of pink on the inside of the handle and there is gilt loss on the handle consistent with age and use. The wash basin is 5" high, 15" across the bowl and 7" across the base. Wash basin and pitcher set made by George Jones& Sons in an Aesthetic Movement pattern. Basin is in good condition with a small manufacturing flaw on the rim as shown. It appears to be a spot created by touching another peice in the kiln. Pitcher had the top broken off at one time. The break was at the shoulder as shown and the handle came off with it. Having been broken off near the bottom.also as shown. It still displays well and the reattchment it strong. After 1871. Basin is 15 1/2" dia. Pitcher is about 11 1/32" tall.
