The clock has a Japy Freres& Cie movement and was retailed by the Schneider Campbell Company Union Square. New York. The clock measures 21" high or 53.3 cm and 15 1/2" or 39.4 cm wide and features an ornate base with arabesque form feet at the sides and 4 round feet at the front. Across the front of the stepped base is low relief panel with vines. Leaves and berries. At the top of the base are two winged cherubs sitting on scrolling acanthus leaves with a large swag of flowers before them. The cherubs are copper over bronze and have excellent attention to detail. This base supports and urn shape porcelain clock body. Which all hand ... moreis painted with cherubs as well. The clock face is porcelain with raised bubble design and Roman numerals. The clock face is mounted in bronze with gilt bronze mounts and hinged door with beveled glass. The clock has two bronze handles in the form of lion’s heads with ropes in their mouths. The clock has a large bronze finial at the top with 2 doves perched on flowers. The dial is marked“SCHNEIDER CAMPBELL& CO UNION SQUARE NEW YORK” This is for a 19 th century company that sold imported French clock in New York City. The movement is marked“JAPY FRERES& CIE MED D’ HONNEUR” along with the numbers“2363 4.1” The condition of the clock is very good. The bronze and copper have their original patinas and the hand painted porcelain is quite fine. The clock has its original pendulum and comes with a key for winding. The clock is running. The"United Wilson" foundry mark is clearly visible at the inside base along with the date 1897. I am told that these are copies of the originals that sell for more than $12.00 each. An image just below the clock depicts a man who is meeting the acquaintance of a young woman as was customary during the 18 th century. Furthermore there are four support columns that are decoratively painted in a baby blue fashion background with a homestead prominently featured. Overall the clock is in terrific condition given its age. There are light and slight marks on some of the porcelain columns. There are no cracks or crazing in the clock face. However. There are slight blue marks near the top of the clock and a hint of yellowing near the wind up key hole. Also some of the numbers are lightly faded. The painted bronze ... moredoes have some signs of wear. Please note the cherubs are a little loose. This piece measures 21 inches tall by 13 ¼ inches wide(base measurement) by 9 inches wide(pillar to pillar) by 6 inches deep. Please note that there is no key with clock and the two garniture pieces are not with the clock. The clock mechanism has been tested using a separate key. No damage to the birds which are stunning sitting on their tree trunks. The flowers have chips and one holder may have a couple missing all easily replace here on Ebay. All of which only adding more shabby character to these rare pieces. The patina has age and you may wish to polish to remove any excess old polish or to bright up. But I feel they display great as they are. These are the same with the exception of the base which each hold their own likeness and one has a drip pan in holder the other does not. It stands 33" tall to the mount for the shade, the base is 5" square. The floral design on a white back round of raised bumps is probably from the late 40's to early 50's, Italian or French would be my best guess. This auction is for THREE matching pieces. 1 centerpiece bowl featuring the three goddesses and 2 matching urns with lids. I never seen another set like this in any color. These will make a wonderful addition to any collection. These are rare and beautiful bronze and hand-painted porcelain pieces in light green with gold trim and beautifully detailed designs celebrating the French Revolution. The design is classic French Revolution and the urns feature two bronze handles along with the traditional pineapple at the lid. The"United Wilson" foundry mark is clearly visible at the inside base along with the date 1897 on both urns. The bowl piece is really unique with a highly detailed bowl sitting atop the three goddesses. Each Goddess holds a chain with a bronze sphere at the end of each chain held in both hands. The bowl is attached ... moreto the base with another matching pineapple at the bottom. There is no marking on the bottom of the bowl since it is covered in a soft cloth material. But it is obvious that it is from the same production as the two urns. I have been told these are good copies of the originals that sell for more than $35.000. I paid over $5,000 back in 2000 from a San Francisco antique dealer. I am sacrificing for the bid price due to bad economic times. Each urn measures approximately 7" X 7" at the base. About 12" at the body and about 25" tall from bottom to the tip of the lid and weighs about 25 pounds. The centerpiece bowl measures 12" at the base. 16" at the bowl, and the total piece is 20" tall. Up for sale is this Gorgeous Pair of 19th Century Louis XVI Porcelain and Bronze Mounted Urns. They measure approximately 33 1/2" from base to tip of finial. And measure 9" at the widest point across. Attached are a pair of column-like handles which acorns sit atop, connected by a draped laurel garland. The bands around the top and the base are decorated with intricate scroll work and fan pattern, as well as a base wrapped with a laurel garland border. They are both a deep cobalt blue in color. The top has a removable finial of an acorn. They are both in excellent condition, however, one of them has a hairline crack around one of the necks, which is only visible upon inspection, and a small chip at one point of the crack. The other urn is in impecable condition with no cracks or chips, and both are in amazing shape especially for ... moretheir age.
