Spectacular Mochaware Mocha Cat's Eyes Pitcher and Pepper-Pot
Outstanding mochaware pitcher and pepperpot. Rarely offered individually, much less as a set. I could have listed them separately, but choose to keep them together as they should be. Please study all photos for the best description. These two pieces are representative of the finest examples you can find of early 19th century mochaware. They are decorated in bold identical colors of blue. Ochre, and dark brown. Profusely decorated with matching cat's eyes design. The pitcher stands at about 6 3/4" a wonderful size. The pepperpot, once in the collection of Jonathan Rickard, is 4 1/4" tall. Please note the crisp dee p blue diamond rouletting on the pitcher. This is rarely found in blue. In most cases by far, it is green. The condition of these pieces is excellent. Mochaware was used daily. And most pieces with such striking decoration ... moreare not found in this condition today. Both pieces are lightweight with no signs of restoration and a fine finish. There are four very shallow flakes on the pitcher-two on the sides of the spout and two on the inside rim at the top.hardly noticeable, these are not a distraction. The leaf tipped handle and base are fine. The pepperpot is also in fine shape-base, body, and top. The only flaws are several nicks on the upper rim.very common with these pepperpots. This set is for the advanced collector who knows that in this case, rarity offsets any minor condition issues. You can look for years and not come across a set as good as this. It just doesn't get better than this. Please ask all questions before making your offer. Only serious offers will be considered. Insured shipping will be free. Thank you.

18th Century Marbleized Mochaware Mocha TEAPOT...Extremely Rare!
This is a creamware marbleized mochaware teapot with lid. I have collected mochaware for 20 years and have owned over fifty pieces. I've traded with some of the best. Including Mr. Rickard and Mrs. Blum. This is the only teapot with lid that I've ever seen at all the auctions and shows I've attended. The pictures clearly show the great condition and bold, beautiful decoration of this little gem! Most early fine mochaware is on pearlware body and dates from ca. 1820. This is creamware, which came earlier. I would guess this piece to be ca. 1780-1790. In the 18th century, tea was an expensive luxury for the wealthy, and teapots were small. This one is just over 4" tall to the top of the oval finial and the base is a small 3 1/4" diameter. It was made to hold just one cup or two very small cups. The body is fabulous. The ... morecolor is strong, the design is bold, and the condition is excellent. It's lightweight, which is what you want, and the glazed finish is smooth, slick, and uniform. I see no chips or no cracks on the body. The rim of the base has the expected roughness, ever so slight, with a small number of the tiniest shallowest fleabites, really amazing. The inside of the base is clean and free of any issues. The 8 strainer holes are round and clean. The top rim looks very good; there is a very thin hairline coming down from the top rim and not going through.it's only on the outside-tiny and less than one-half inch long. Amazingly, both the handle and the spout are in great shape. I do not see or feel any issues on the spout. I ran my finger all around the edges of the spout, especially the tip, as well as the nicely shaped handle rims and felt nothing wrong.sometimes the fingers will detect something that the eyes miss! Don't miss the potter's addition of incised lines on the sides of the spout. I do want to describe carefully.the top rim feels just a little less slick than the decorated area below.I do not see or suspect a restoration in this area, but I mention this as it i

Incised Blue & White Checkered Footed Mochaware-Mocha Bowl, ca late 19th Century
NO RESERVE. Here is an interesting mochaware bowl; my best guess would put this late 19th century. English. Most interesting is its incised blue-white checkerboard pattern, deeply textured into the clay body. It is a footed bowl, about 5 1/4" diameter, about 3" tall. In addition, there are 5 white incised lines. Overall condition is very good to excellent. The bowl is quite clean and the blue is vibrant. There is some shallow wear to the glaze on the rim from normal use. Inside the bowl, there are 3 evenly spaced dots, which I suspect are the kiln marks. There is a dime-sized faint staining around one of these marks, again probably from honest use. The only other thing to mention are a couple of whitish areas which are all under the glaze, small, and in the making of the piece. Again, this is a piece that you don't come across ... moreoften.the texture is an important part to the decoration. Please feel free to ask any questions. I have excellent feedback and provide free shipping. Thanks for looking.

Rare EARTHWORM MOCHAWARE English MUG w/ PEWTER LID Dated 1862 PEARLWARE
Just purchased at a sale this morning.it is a SHELF PIECE. But what a beauty. The colors are so vibrant! Very Large! The earthworm design on this Mochaware is rarer than the others and the mug itself with the pewter lid has no cracks or chips or hairlines, just lots and lots of crazing from age. The handle has been repaired, quite badly, in a number of places, so this piece is being sold in AS FOUND condition. Please email if you require any additional info.I will be happy to answer any questions you have. The measurements are 4 1/4" diameter(just over) and 8 1/4" high INCLUDING finial. There is discoloration along the bottom and I believe most of that is glue residue from the repair of the handle. Other discoloration found, totally appropriate to age and use. As stated, this is a wonderful shelf piece, being sold with damage. Dated ... more1862. If Mint, we all know it would be well over $1,000. Have the handle fixed! THANKS VERY MUCH FOR VIEWING MY AUCTION! AS ALWAYS. My auctions offer as honest a description that I can provide. I DEAL IN ITEMS THAT ARE USED. THEY WILL NOT BE PERFECT UNLESS SPECIFIED MINT! Mid to Late 19th century Unmarked Pitcher mochaware-looks like MacIntyre
This is a mammoth piece of terracotta or earthenware-which is the sole non-MacIntyre thing about it. If it is not MacIntyre. It would look great on the shelf with a collection of it. there are no chips or damage, but I am still trying to get years of dirt off it. It is English, and has the lovely dark mocha or agate paint that is typically associated with MacIntyre. it is 7.75 inches tall. I love these pieces, but I have to clear out my mess. Please check my other auctions as I am having a massive scratch and dent sale. No measurements, but I have small hands. I am listing too much stuff to be really specific, so LOOK AT THE PHOTOS caref ully. If you like 18th century and early 19th century English pearlware and soft paste porcelain. I am selling tons. also- returns only if reasonable. if the piece is broken and you did not ask for insurance, ... moreit is at your risk. It takes me about a week to get everything wrapped and out. Sorry. But I work 50 hours a week, have a family and a lot of marketing for work. This is my FINAL round of original auctions. Anything after this will not likely be new, but it will be cheap.

JASPE POTTERY PITCHER ~ FRENCH 1800s ~ YELLOW WARE ~ MOCHAWARE
JASPE POTTERY PITCHER ~ FRENCH 1800s ~ YELLOW WARE ~ MOCHAWARE This early yellow ware pitcher comes from the Savoie region of France and dates from the 1800s. Possibly even early. Color is beautiful- light cream with swirls of green and terra cotta. The glaze has pinpricks. Most likely formed during the firing, and missing glaze particularly along the handle and top rim which has an inch chip. Pitcher looks better“ in person” as the photos seem to magnify to pinpricks. The inside bottom is missing glaze from use. There are no cracks through and the piece has a nice ring to it. A hairline in the glaze along the bottom is only in the glaze. Despite the flaws. This very old milk jug displays well. Measures 5 ½" tall; 4 ½" in diameter. NYS residents must add appropriate sales tax. gsrx_vers_525(GS 6.6.5(525) G.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId ... morep4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk%601d72f%2Bjw%60hquvg%3Eg-144161ff150-0xde-

Unusual 19th Century Swirled Mochaware Pottery Mug with Pewter Handle
An unusual swirled mochaware( or mocha ware) pottery mug with an original pewter handle. You can see(at least in person) that this is not a"make do" handle. It is original to the piece. The handle design, which is beautifully case, suggests a Victorian era age, maybe third quarter of the 19th Century. Probably English. The swirled mocha design is in dark brown and white, with shades of lighter brown. A lovely and unusual piece for the collector of mochaware or English pottery, and in mint condition. About 3 3/4" high to the top of the handle, the rim is about 2 5/8" diameter. Shipping charge is for U.S. only, for other places please inquire.

Antique English Ceramic Creamware Mochaware Tea Pot Charming Toffee Color!
I've had a small rash of non-payers recently. Which I haven't fretted about, since in every case the second offering has yielded a wonderful new client I wouldn't have met otherwise. I won't weigh down this little beauty with the ponderous word"rare. but, truly, I haven't seen another remotely like it in thirty years of gazing intently at every piece of English pottery that strays within 500 yards of me. The color is simply delectable. As evidenced by the fact that I can't think of a single word to describe it that isn't yummy-butterscotch, toffee, farm fresh eggs. Much more than that. It will lift your spirits, as only antiques that have been loved for generations can do. In this connection, I see a wee cosmetic touch here and there, as illustrated in the photographs, but they are done with the aim of keeping ... moreup appearances merely, the way you would patch a favorite pair of jeans, certainly not to be deceiving or of making the piece posh enough for the company of snooty porcelain pieces in a glistening vitrine. Put it on your windowsill(with a little museum putty on its underside) and smile the day away. I don't know if I'm strictly correct in referring to it as mochaware. But it has that playfulness and is of the period and perhaps my fellow ebayers will enlighten me(gently! Study the photographs and please ask questions. I always answer swiftly, honestly, and at length; glance at my feedback and you'll see how well this has served me. And please give this little honey a home. Because it will serve you faithfully.

The clean cream colored handle ends with two green leafy terminals, well developed. Lower and upper rims are clean, with a nicely turned base. Other than the two lines and some interior cloudiness. 19th Century Mocha Mochaware Bowl -Amazing Decoration-Ex Rickard Collection
Ca. 1830 Mochaware Bowl Ex-Rickard Collection Finest Rich Colors and Profuse Earthworm/Cable Design Two raised-dot rouletted bands. Upper and lower 6 1/4" diameter at top Please read condition report and look closely at all photos. This is an absolutely gorgeous bowl with the richest colors of rust. Blue, and brown. Profuse earthworm decoration circles the entire bowl. The rounded base is in good shape. There are two rows of raised dot rouletting which adds a nice touch. The hairlines go through the body, but the bowl seems solid and stable-intact. Probably the most noticeable flaw is the old rim chip, clearly photographed. Mochaware was made to be used by common people in homes. Inns, and taverns. It was not usually a cabinet piece. Staining, old lines, and old chips are commonly found from repeated use and found on most early pieces, ... moreunless they have been cleaned or repaired. Safe to say, this piece is in its natural used condition. No apologies-the color. Form, and especially the design, are exceptional. You have to take a piece like this as it is, knowing that there's not another one out there quite like it. I have not attempted to clean or repair a thing on this bowl-that would be up to its new owner. It is certainly worthy of attention, but some feel that it's better to maintain the purity of character, especially in this case, where the flaws do not interfere so much with the spectacular design and color. Priced to sell. I appreciate your inquiries.

English Marbleized Staffordshire Mochaware Antique Kitchen Mocha Mixing Bowl
English Marbleized Staffordshire Mochaware Antique Kitchen Mocha Mixing Bowl I just purchased this antique English Marbleized mixing bowl from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The bowl is characteristic of the earthenware produced by a number of Staffordshire potteries during the early 1900's. The bowl is nicely executed with clean lines to the ¼" thick walls. The exterior is finished with a striking Marbleized design in rich shades of blue. White and black, the interior is white. The bowl measures 8 ¾" in diameter and 5" high. The piece is in excellent condition with no damage and only light use wear. This handsome mixing bowl would make a great addition to any collection of antique English Mochaware or Vintage Yelloware/ Kitchenware. International bidders. Please contact me prior to bidding to discuss ... moreshipping options. Ebay policies require sellers to provide tracking information which is offered on USPS Priority Mail International and Exprss Mail International. USPS First Class Mail International does not offer tracking or insurance. Successful US bidders. Please see that I offer both USPS Parcel Select and Priority Mail as shipping options. Because of the lower price, I have placed Parcel Select as the first option on the eBay invoice. In many cases the cost difference between Parcel Select and Priority Mail is only a few cents. Recently, the shipping times for USPS Parcel Select have been significantly over their estimates. If you are concerned about turn around time, please choose the Priority Mail option. Payment must be received within three days following the close of the auction. Ebay has established a policy which requires payment via PayPal. Direct credit card or cash at pick-up. PLEASE CONTACT ME DIRECTLY IF YOU'D LIKE TO DISCUSS PAYMENT. We typically expedite quite quickly(next day) but based on a few experiences, please be aware that we are a husband and wife operation and occassionally something comes up which causes a short delay. Antique 1863 Mochaware Mug Miniature Mocha Green Checker Pattern Applied Handle
Antique 1863 Mochaware Mug Miniature Mocha Green Checker Pattern Applied Handle A nice antique mochaware miniature mug with a checker pattern that was created by cutting away the top layer of clay and applying the deep green glaze to the remaining squares. The handle is an applied strap handle. This tiny mug measures 3" high and is 3 1/2" wide. Deep green glaze contrasts nicely with the white clay. There is one very tight and stable hairline on the handle. Which I cannot catch with a fingernail. Every thing else looks good-any other marks or white spots are from the camera flash. Maker's mark on the base. Please note: I have for sale a very eclectic collection of items and am not an expert in every area. So descriptions are my best guess as to what something is. While I try to research each item to the best of my ability, it ... moreis the buyer's responsibility to know what they are buying. At this time. I only ship to United States addresses and P.O. boxes. If you are paying through PayPal, I only accept payments from United States accounts.

YELLOW WARE MOCHAWARE SEAWEED MUG CUP
Very desirable and hard to find Yellow Ware Blue Mocha Seaweed mug. This beautiful mid-19th century piece has the blue seaweed pattern with brown bands. The brown bands are not perfect and have a hazy run look to them. This mug is in wonderful condition. There is a very tiny nick on the top rim. There is also a crack on the inside bottom where the bottom of the handle was applied. There are manufacturers flaws and imperfections on the outside as expected with this time period. This piece measures 3 1/4 H x 3 3/8 across the top rim. There are no markings. I have seen sites where similar pieces have sold between $175- 250. Please email me if you have any questions.
