Burslem) with a beautiful orange lustre finish and delicate long-needle pine trees hung with colorful Asian lanterns. The jar is 6" tall(not including the handle) and about 6" in diameter. There are no chips. Cracks or r epairs to the ceramic. Ther e is wear to the lustre finish. Especially near the bail and also some scratches to the surface. Not deep enough to scratch the porcelain. Hand Painted Biscuit / Cracker Jar Purple Violets
This is old piece of German Pottery. I believe it is a German but it is unmarked. It is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or repairs. Measures 7" tall(top of the finial) and the opening is 4 1/2" It has a gold trim with some minor wear on the lid and 4 little feet on the bottom. The flowers are hand painted and beautiful. One of the nicest German cracker jars I have seen. The pictures speak for themselves.

The piece is unmarked and I do not know the age. Maker, pattern or such. I thought it looked more like a Ginger Jar. Picture# 13 shows the jar being held up to the light and you can see through the jar. The lid is recessed and the outer rim measures 3 5/8" in diameter. 4 3/4" tall and 8" round at biggest point. Signed c.1891 Porcelain Biscuit Jar with Bamboo Lid and decorated in a sublime shade of yellow punctuated by bright pink loose Chrysanthemums and varigated leaves trimmed in bright gold. Sponge decorated gild line the edges of jar and lid, rising to engulf the bamboo handle. Standing 7 1/2 inches tall and approximately 5 1/2 inches in diameter- condition is excellent with a small bruise below(sturdy and not perceptible through touch) and gild wear to the highest points of the handle. Decoration is hand-painted and expertly applied.truly an exceptional example. Very beautiful cut crystal biscuit jar with silver plated lid. Rim and handle. There are no identifying marks on this but I think it is English. It is approx. 5" tall without counting the knob on the lid or the handle and about 5 1/2" across at the mid point. Over all condition- very good to excellent- no chips, cracks, or cloudiness. As a senior citizen it is now time for me to downsize and let go of old treasures- this belonged to my mother who was the best biscuit maker on the planet(or at least in SC) This is a lovely antique art glass cookie or biscuit jar that dates from the late 1890s- 1910 or so. CF Monroe referred to this design as"Billow Ware" in its early catalogues; it is now more commonly referred to as"egg crate. This particular style is unique to CFM. Although the company purchased its blanks from other manufacturers, notably Mt Washington-Pairpoint. The biscuit jar is unsigned; many of the company's earlier pieces were NOT signed. The jar is PERFECT! There are no chips. Cracks, or repairs and the lid sits solidly on the top(no bending) The top of the silver rim of the jar has wear and surface scratching due to age. Noritake maple leaf Nippon poppy biscuit jar very rare domestic colors 1880s EC
I have for you this evening one of the very finest pieces of Nippon ware that I have ever seen made by the Morimura brothers of Noritake fame. My first love was and still is very well made pieces of Japanese porcelain and this piece most certainly falls within the scope of that statement. This stunning piece features a beautiful molded body made from the highest quality porcelain being produced in Japan at the time of its manufacture. On the body of the piece has been lavishly hand painted the most gorgeous design of poppies in full and partial bloom along with foliage all placed against a back drop of the most stunning color palate that I have seen on a piece by this maker. The colors used on this denote a piece made for the domestic market and not for western consumption so its a rare piece to be found outside of its home country. This ... morepiece was clearly made for someone very special and would have been quite expensive. This piece is made even more interesting by the gold beading and chased slip design embellishing the upper body and on the cover. The gold gilt knob is a nice touch as well. I have given the best description that my words can convey but please take the time to peruse my pictures to gain a real appreciation for this masterpiece of art on porcelain. Item dimensions and dating: This piece measures around 7" tall with cover in place and has about the same width at its widest point. This piece dates from the 1880's by the mark and design. Condition report: This amazing piece is in very near mint condition with no chips. Cracks or crazing that I can see and the colors appear to be as fresh and vibrant as the day the piece was first painted. The gold design and trim work along with the beading appear to be in very fine condition with only minor wear to the edges. The finial on the cover has the most wear to the gold but is age appropriate for a piece of this time period and made for its use. This large biscuit jar is in lovely condition. With no damage or loss of design. I have not seen one with this design. It has a slight"Gaudy Welsh" look to it, but with that Victorian update! It measures 9" 22.8 cm) in height including the raised handle, 7 1/4" 18.4 cm) in height with the handle lowered and is 5 1/2" 14 cm) in diameter at the widest point. It has four alternating green diamond panels with a peach colored leaf and gold sprigging over the green color. There are 4 half sunflowers at the bottom and top of each green panel. There are four alternating angled panels of"Gaudy Welsh" style orange and blue flowers, with gold trim. The jar is not marked except with the pattern number#160. All the colors are hand-painted over the glaze and are in lovely condition with no areas of worn off paint. The ... moresilver top, rim and handle are not marked except inside the lid, where there is a#6 and beneath that S 7474. I assume it is EPNS(electroplated nickel silver) as most of these of this era were. The handle has the two sections that split at the top to hold an oval plate. The lid is incised with very detailed and well done ferns. There is a $1.00 charge for a new box within a larger new box and ample packing material to ensure safe delivery. I have taken several photos to show the beauty of this piece. This piece appraised for a lot more than this when I took it to the antiques roadshow a couple of years ago. Carlton Ware Cookie Jar/ Biscuit Barrel For auction is an early biscuit barrel/ cookie jar by Wiltshaw& Robinson/ Carlton Ware dated to 1894 by the registration number below the backstamp. I cannot find a pattern name. But it is considered" Blush Ware" This name aptly describes the delicate pastel shaded backgrounds. The jar is hand painted in blue. Mauve and pink flowers with green leaves on a pale background. Lid and rim appear to be silver plate. But there are no markings to indicate it is. I have cleaned this to some degree, but some tarnish remains. I also note the lid has some small pit or wear marks. Condition is good for its age. No chips. Cracks, crazing or restoration detected. Royal Kinran Nippon biscuit cracker jar hand painted floral design gold beading
I have for you this evening a beautiful example of Japanese domestic use porcelain by the factories of Royal Kinran made during the Nippon era. This stunning piece features a lovely and delicate porcelain molded body in white glaze that exhibits no crazing or discoloration and has been decorated all over with a gorgeous floral motif. The handles and finial are gold gilt and the rim is gilded and is accented with beadwork. The base is also trimmed in gold. The piece does exhibit wear to the gold but that just enhances the antique feel of the piece and proves that it was used and loved. This would make an excellent addition to any collection of Nippon era or Japanese porcelain. Item dimensions and dating: All measurements are approximate. This piece measures 8.25" long including the handles and stands around 5.5" tall to the top of ... morethe finial when cover is in place. This piece dates from the early Nippon era around 1890. Condition report: This piece is in very good antique condition with the only issue being a nick out of the rim that is painted over with gold and may have happened during the firing"see pictures 11 and 12" I have looked at it through my loupe and still cannot tell for sure but its possible it may have been chipped and then painted over quite some time ago. It still shows quite well and besides that minor flaw there are no other chips. Cracks or crazing.
