Vintage Mah Jong Set + 5 Swirled Bakelite Racks 160 Tiles w/Faux Aligator Case
For sale is a very nice. Clean vintage white tile mah jong set. This set comes with 160 original tiles, five beautiful swirled bakelite racks with metal coin ends which I believe are brass. They are in great vintage used condition. The case is also extremely clean with minimal signs of wear. The tiles are all original to the set with extra 8 flowers plus 8 original jokers. I do now know the brand name of these tiles. However, they are of higher quality than the newer tiles made today, with excellent paint, a nice feel and sound. This is a vintage set and therefore has some signs of wear, though this shows very little. There are some minor variations in the tiles as seen in the last photograph. The set includes 36 bams, 36 craks, 36 dots, 16 winds, 12 dragons, 16 flowers and 8 jokers. The case is vintage faux black alligator trim with white ... morevinyl lining. The hardware is in excellent working condition with minimal signs of wear. Tiles measure 1/14 tall x 1/2" tall x 3/32" wide. Photos are part of my description so please pay close attention and ask questions prior to bid. This set is vintage and not new. I will not be able to ship this item until May 15th.

The bakelite tiles and better are all in very good condition. No chips, paint is good, nice butterscotch color. The racks are in nice condition with no chips. But one rack as seen in picture 10 it is missing its end piece and there is tarnishing spots on the metal coin trays. The case does have wear/scuffs. Trent Trenton fireplace tiles 10 pcs. 6" x 6" Vintage
Ten Trent tiles that came from an old Victorian fireplace surround in Iowa. Each of the tiles measure 6" x 6" Two have large chips on the front. Two others have very small chips on the front. They have not been cleaned but any char should wipe off with windex and a cloth. A few of them have chips on the back. But those can be leveled with grout. There are 10 tiles all together. This beautiful. Vintage Mah Jongg set is made of Chinese bakelite and dates to the 1920's or 30's. It is very rare with its unique white dragon tiles as well as other features which include all original tiles in amazingly good, clean condition 2 consecutive runs of 1 through 4 scholar and season tiles. In addition all 146 tiles are original to this set matching in color and size just perfectly. The set is complete for the Chinese version of the game. All 146 tiles are hand painted and carved. This set comes with 4 swirled, marbled burgundy catalin racks, 70 vintage smooth playing coins, a pair of cherry red see through dice, a bettor and a box that holds it all. THE TILES consist of: 36 bams, 36 cracks, 36 dots, 16 winds, 12 dragons, 8 flowers and 2 blank tiles. I picked this game up at an estate sale in Palm Beach. The women told me the Mah Jong game was very old. She was 94 and no longer played. I have laid out the tiles and racks so you can see what is included with the set. The playing tiles are in overall very good condition with vibrant colors. They are an earth tone and or brown color tone with fine vertical lines. The gaming tiles have a strong aromatic odor. The exterior of the storage case has lots of wear. The inside of the case and tile storage racks are lined with a brown crushed velvet. Please see photo's. I believe the mah jong set is Piroxloid. The gaming tiles are celluloid, ... morealso known as French Ivory. Celluloid was the one of the first man made plastics. Having been developed by John Hyatt in the 1860's. Vintage Pair of Delft Blue tiles- Belgium
VTG Belgium Delft Blue Tile Dimensions 4 3/4 X 4 3/4 inches For your consideration we offer a pair of original Belgium Delft blue tiles from the late forties. It was manufactured possibly by the factory of George Gilliot in Hemiksen/ Antwerp. Belgium, but decorated by hand in Holland. The factory was founded in 1897 by George Gilliot in Hemiksem. As floor and wall tile factory, with John Salt, a ceramic specialist trained at Sèvres, as technical director. At the turn of the 20th century, the firm saw rapid expansion with a working force reaching nine hundred personnel in 1913. The last tiles were produced there in 1978 and the company was closed down by Sphinx Maastricht in 1985( the information is taken from the website of the British Museum in London) Nicely glazed surface. The background is gray. Fine. Light colored clay with no mica(sparkling ... moreinclusions) No crazing. The tile is stamped MADE IN BELGIUM and BELGA On the whole. They are in remarkably good pre-owned condition! I can see no damage to the tile. We have a total of 12 tiles in this design. With no apparent damage. They may need a little cleaning. Two Red and White Koi on a Luscious Blue/Green Swirled Background. Four vintage raised Koi tile which make up a 12"x12" mural. Each tile measures almost 6" Each tile was hand cut and glazed. There are no chips or cracks. There are some glaze burns on one of the fishes black markings. See photos. The tiles measure 3/8" thick and 5/8" thick at the fish body. Great for a pond or water feature. The price on the back is what I paid for them 30+ years ago. These are old tiles and except for the glaze burns are in perfect condition. Three vintage hand painted tiles. These maybe DELFT tiles but I cannot tell for sure as the previous owner placed a cloth on the back side so it wont scratch any surfaced it is placed on. Delft are normally blie on white. But they did manufacture brown tiles also. They are in great shape, no cracks or chips. 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" inch square.

They measure 4.25" tall X 6.6" wide X 4.75" deep. These are perfect except for one of them has one small chip in front left that has been restored. I couldn't see it until we black lighted the items. PAIR OF VINTAGE MID-CENTURY MODERN PHARMACY TILES!
WELCOME! You're bidding on a pristine pair of glazed tiles. Originally sent to the Midway Hospital Pharmacy in Los Angeles in 1960, but never opened(until now) or used. Each tile is 6" x 6" x 5/16" glazed in a high-gloss jet black with mirror-like gold decoration, backed with cork and an integral metal loop hanger applied by the Armstrong Cork Company of Los Angeles. One tile features the caduceus. An ancient Greek or Roman herald's wand. Typically one with two serpents twined around it, carried by the messenger god Hermes or Mercury, a design traditionally associated with the medical profession. The other shows beakers and test tubes. Apparently symbolizing chemical advances in pharmacology. Whether these made it to their intended destination or why they were never hung remains a mystery. But these would make a unique, ... morebeautiful, and special gift for anyone in the medical field. Still complete with their 53-year-old heavy paper sleeves and original mailing box(note the whopping 74 cents postage! FYI: what may look like the tiles have slightly curved edges is actually an optical illusion. What you're seeing is the reflection of the white paper on which I shot the tiles; the tile edges are perfectly straight and crisp. And are in mint condition. Each tile weighs nearly a pound- 13.9 ozs. to be exact. 0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false I accept payment by PayPal.
