This auction is for a lot of 2 antique tiles. I was told from the previous owner that they were from her family and were brought over to the US from Italy. She said they came off of a building maybe from inside a building in Italy but were at least 100 years old. That is the story I was told. I would say they do have some age and they appear to be hand painted. One has cracks and has been glued back together. Not the best job but it is holding. Each measures approx 5 inches by 5 inches. FOUR HANDPAINTED POLYCHROME HARLINGEN. HOLLAND DELFT TILES These are four beautiful handpainted Delft tiles that were originally part of a fireplace in an older Cape Cod home. The adhesive used to secure the tiles to the fireplace is still on the backs of the tiles- it is visible in the pictures and we have not attempted to remove the adhesive. On the backs of two of the tiles we are able to see HARLINGEN HOLLAND along with the company logo impressed into the tile. Because of the adhesive we are not able to see the backs of the other two tiles. However. They all came from the same fireplace and appear to be similar in design. The colors are blues, greens, yellows, tans, and browns. Approximate size 5 1/16 x 5 1/16. The tiles are in good condition for their age. As you can see in picture 3 there is a piece of the edge chipped off. There is, ... morealso, some chaulking around the edges of the tiles. The background on each tile is an antique creamy off-white and has delicate white scrollwork surrounding the oval lace design which showcases these flowers. These are original pieces and they have not been repaired or painted. I am not sure of the age of these pieces however I know they have been around for at least 20 years! They have a high-gloss glaze protecting the artwork. They would look beautiful displayed just as they are on a Shabby Cottage Chic shelf or utilized as inserts for craft projects and can certainly be used as wall tiles or trivets. Vintage California Tile Chinese Dragon D & M, Catalina, Taylor Scenic 8" Tiles
Up for you consideration. Out of my personal collection comes a beautiful and somewhat rare Dragon D& M, six, 8" tile set. There is all over crazing as usual, and a couple of stress cracks or some call hair lines. I've had many D& M, 8" tile sets and they all seem to be subjective to them. There are two on this dragon 6 tile set, the 1st one is in the 3rd photo and runs 3 1/2" from the right hand top to about the tip of his orange nose, it blends with the rest of the crazing, and is tight. The 2nd one is in picture 4 and it's in the center left hand tile. It runs across the corner and is 3" in and runs 4" across, this one is also tight and solid. They were set in cement so they are going no where, and you really have to look close to see them. They do not take away from the beauty of the large and ... moresome what rare piece. In the day this tile set would bring an easy 4,500 as we know tile is down with the rest of what so much of us have collected. I have been authorized to present these three vintage/antique tiles from the San Jose Tile Workshop of San Antonio. The San Jose Tile Workshops operated from 1931 to 1977. Ethal Harris and Fernando Ramos. Whow was her principle designer created"The San Jose workshops" which consisted of 3 main art tile factories- Mexican Arts and Crafts" San Jose Potteries" and Mission Crafts" Fernando Ramos was responsible for a majority of the tile drawings ranging from the simple guitar player to Fiestas and Rance life in Mexico and Texas. I have taken photos of these 3 vintage tiles showing their highlights. All 3 measure 6" X 6" each. All are high gloss and not matted, these tiles were never signed and have never been mounted in any type of frame. Originating from the attic of a historic Ann Arbor. Michigan home, built in 1918, are these Six Vintage Ceramic Tiles. The tiles are in excellent condition. The color is a cream or off white. The tiles measure 4 1/8 inches by 4 1/8 inches and 3/8 inches thick. The name Merit-Emboss is stamped on the back. I believe these tiles were put away in the attic of the historic home. Wrapped in news paper dated 1923, as excess from the construction of the home. Based on the circumstances, I have to believe the tiles have to be around 95 years old. There are two defects on the side of two tiles. Not to be seen looking at them or when set in place. The ceramic face of all of the tiles are in great condition. Thats all I know. Lot of 9 Vintage Glass Prism Tiles. Very Good Condition. Pale Yellow Color 4"x4" Sale is for a lot containing 9 Vintage Glass Prism Tiles. These were removed from the basement alley windows of an old General Store built around 1900. Originally they came in a copper and lead frame and were removed so the copper could be recycled( not by me) They are in great condition with some bubbles. And a slightly wavy texture front and back. The prisms are nice and sharp but may have the odd very small chip in them. They also have a bevel all the way around were they fit into the old 1/4" frame and this makes the edges a little rough on some of them. Measurements are +- 4-1/4" x 4-3/16" x 1/4" to top of prisms. Prisms themselves are about 1/6" high. The color is a pale yellow which is I guess indicative of the type of ... moreglass they were made from. I've tried to take picture to give a sense of the color but of course your light might be slightly different then mine and taking a decent picture of glass was harder then I thought. Vintage USA rooster tile trivets. White based tiles featuring a colorful. Beautifully painted farm rooster scenes. Tiles are in excellent condition, no chips or cracks on the surface. Colors are bright, glaze is glossy. Tiles measure 4 1/4" inches square. The are some chips on the base edges, which is normal tile. The edge chips would not be seen once the tiles are set in mortar or wood trivet base. A cut piece of felt can also be glued to the back so tiles can be used as trivets. Or attach hanger to display as a wall decoration. Many ideas! Great kitchen rooster additions!

Piece measures approx 6" across and is approx 7/16" thick. Condition: Both are without chips. Cracks, nicks or dings. There is no noticeable wear on surfaces. They are in great shape with the exception of one small hairline crack as shown in the picture above. I used them years ago with a plate hanger and hung on the wall. This sale is for a set of 44 authentic 1954 vintage ceramic border tiles that extend 22 feet long. Plus you get 5 additional tiles that have broken. so that's total 24.5 feet long) The incised divisions in these tiles make them unfortunately fragile. So handle with care! But you can stick the broken ones together as you set them. The deep grooves between the green and yellow squares should be grouted and this will give a mosaic effect and will also hide any breaks.
