Large Ruffled Edge Handpainted Victorian Glass Bowl
This is a large. Ruffled glass bowl that was handpainted by a very talented Victorian era woman. It measures 9 1/2" around and stands 6 1/4" tall. The interior is a beautiful deep cranberry color while the exterior is a very pale yellow which has been painted, all around, with pink and blue flowers and green leaves. The front exhibits an unusual ribbon design in blue and an irridescent cranberry with white flowers. The bowl has no cracks but, there are 2 chips. One is on one of the ruffles as you can see in the photo. The other is on the base which has about 1/2" with no glaze, as though it was nestled in a holder of some sort like a brides basket. The outside has the rich blue satin glass. With a multi colored enameled leaf decoration. The cased glass edge is clear and has a wonderful double ruffle that makes the round bowl appear square. Treasures to suit every pocket This auction is for a good quality Victorian collection of ceramic pieces made by a well collected Coalport factory. The pieces are dated by the backstamp as circa 1885. This collection incudes four large breakfast cups in a floral decorated pattern. Both inside and out, These cups have a fluted shape as shown and each stand appro 3.5 inches tall and measure approx 4 inches across the top. Each cup comes with a matching saucer in the same design and each measuring approx 7 inches across. The set is completed with a large sugar bowl, probably originally called a slop bowl, but always a part of the set This set is over 125 years old and two of the cups each have a hairline. As shown but these are ... moreold and stable and could safely still be used. Some of the decoration on the well used pieces is slightly faded but some of the other pieces are very crisp still. But the two hairlines are the only damage found, no other cracks, chips or restoration found. I also have a cup and saucer duo from the same set on another listing. I recently identified a piece of EAPG(Early American Pattern Glass) for a GPSA member as a McKee“Tec” pattern. Her reaction was. Are the‘tec’ patterns attracted to me or were there just a lot of them produced? Our member is very charming indeed and I am sure any glass pattern would follow her home given half the chance. But, the truth is, there are many McKee“Tec” patterns. The“Tec” patterns. As they have come to be known, are a line of 18 patterns all named with the suffix tec. The most well-known and popular of these patterns is the Aztec pattern. Nortec. Another ... morewell-known“tec” pattern is often known by the popular name Centipede. McKee Glass Company began its life as McKee and Brothers Glass Works in Pittsburgh. PA in 1853. The factory later moved to Jeannette, PA, which was founded by H. Sellers McKee and named for his wife. In 1901, the National Glass Company took over the factory and ran it as McKee Glass until 1904. In 1904, National leased the factory to McKee-Jeannette Glass Company. It is this company that launched the patterns we now call the“tec” patterns. In 1904. McKee was granted a patent for the Pres-Cut trademark. The trademark was used on pressed glassware that imitated the fine cut glass of the time. This is for a really beautiful Victorian Webb Decorated Cased Peachblow Large Rose Bowl produced in about 1885. It is in nice shape but does have some roughnes and surface chips where the decoration of blue prunts is gone. There was 8 blue prunts and there are 4 now. The decoration might have been removed to make it look symetrical. Beautiful coloring of Raspberry fading downward to pink on bottom. Original fire polished rim. Big and heavy. The condition is good and original however there are a few tiny chips that are hard to see. The outer diameter of this fine bowl is 18 cm and the height is 11 cm. Here is a beautiful antique Gaudy Welsh serving bowl with matching serving spoon. Guessing circa 1890- 1910. It has an orange-brown& cobalt blue floral lustre design with gold gilt accents. It is in very good condition and I can find no flaws on it. I will include a matching serving fork with a broken handle. The bottom of the bowl has the red hallmark of H.R.S. Co. The spoon and fork also have the same hallmark stamped on them. The bowl measures 9.5" wide. Stands 4" tall and weighs over 3.5 pounds. Antique Victorian KPM Bowl with Handles - Biscuit Plate Tray - Blue Stamp
Lovely antique KPM two-handled shallow bowl or biscuit tray. This pretty porcelain plate is about 11 and 1/8" wide from handle to handle and about 10 and 7/8" from top to bottom. It stands about 1.5" high. The plate has a beautiful shell design embossed into the porcelain around the wide rim. The decoration feels very Victorian. With roses and violets all brought together with gold flourishes. The outside rim and the"handles" are outlined in gold, as well. The back is marked as shown in the photos, with the blue scepter or line and blue KPM underneath. There is a round red stamp which says"Made in Germany. Last, there is an impressed number"511" with the"5" larger than the two 1's. There is wear on the bottom rim consistent with the age of this piece. There are no cracks. Crazing or repairs. ... moreThere is one smooth chip on the outside rim which we've photographed for you, It is about a half in long and is right along the edge of the plate. It feels very smooth to the touch. There is very minor gold loss, mostly around the rim, as well. This must have been in someone's china cabinet because there are no utensil marks on the plate. From what we can find in reference books, this plate probably dates to the 1880's to 1896 according to the marks on the back. I would to love see this pretty cookie tray in the Paris apartment decor. ANTIQUE VASELINE URANIUM GLASS- HAND BLWN AND HAND PAINTED This auction is for an extremely well hand decorated green vaseline glass centerpiece bowl. Although the shape is very common and easily attributed to such companies as Cambridge. Fenton, Imperial, etc.those pieces were mold formed and this one has a ground and polished pontil mark on the base, it was hand blown and shaped. No makers mark present and I suspect that this was not made in the States. The hand enamelled poppies are richly and patiently developed, the victorian gold scrolls finishing off the design. Maker unknown, suspect that it might be 1900c. English, possibly Powell, Stevens and Williams, or Sowerby. American makers could include Pairpoint, maybe a Steuben blank decorated by Smith? This bowl is about 2" tall and 11 1/2" wide. The center'well' is about ... more5" in diameter. The base is a pinkish colored glass and the top bowl has a greenish amber hue. To the eye, the bowl seems to shade from an amber to a lighter greenish amber near the top rim. The bowl reacts to a black light by illuminating a lime green, the feet do not florescence. This bowl stands about 3 1/4" tall by 5 3/4" wide. This Victorian lustre bowl was probably made in Staffordshire. It is hand thrown and has a band of gilded stylized leaves on a black band around the body. It is 3 inches tall and 6 inches across. The pattern is called Athens and it's lilac with yellow flowers,there is gold trim. ANTIQUE RARE FIGURAL VICTORIAN BRIDE BASKET SILVERPLATE WINGED PUTTI GLASS BOWL
This brides basket is stunning! It has three winged putti and they are holding on to the middle of the lower part of the basket.They are nude except for a tiny leaf covering their fronts.Their back sides are showing. The bottom of the basket has a leaf in the middle and their toes are attched to it. The bowl of the basket is flutted all the way around. When you look at it from the top it looks just like a flower. The center of the silverplate bowl has a sean on two diffrent sides. On one side there is a house and trees and mountains. On the other side there is flowers and leaves and a tiny blue bird. This piece has so much going on.No damage to the piece we can find and the silverplate seems to be 85 per cent there maby more. The mark is under the tiny leaf and hard to read but i know what it is it says Rogers and Brothers Tripple plate and ... morein the middle of a circle it has a hand with lightning coming from it. Its very worn and im sure there was a number but i can not read it. This mark dates it to 1860. This piece was professionally sealed years ago to keep from cleaning it so often. It is starting to turn dark in some places. The sealer can be removed easy with hot water. The bowl inside is carinival glass, green is the base color then looking at it it has many colors pink, purple,dark blue,gold, A lot of color hews. The only damage i can find to the bowl is a tiny sliver chip on one of the flutted areas on the rim.Hard to film. No maker mark on the bowl. Please look at all(pictures) and( ASK ANY QUESTIONS BEFOR BIDDING. THANK YOU. The silverplate basket is 5 tall by 7 inches diameter. The glass incert is 9 diameter by 2 3/4. Togather they are 7 tall.
