Victorian cupped satin rose bowl white cased in blue crimped rim rough pontil
Here I have a nice old blown glass rose bowl. These style bowls were made much as we use potpourri these days. They used rose petals though. The surface is a satin blue finish cased in white. There are 8 crimped edges. It has a rough pontil on the bottom. I have read that these were prevalent between 1880- 1900. They were made in England and the US. The finish has a couple places where the finish is missing as in picture 3. 3 1/2" tall& about 4 1/2" wide No damage as far as chipping goes. Ask questions.I will reply. Antique Victorian Milk Glass Rose Bowl - Hand Painted
This measures 4 1/2" high and4 3/4" across. It has the number 2 on the bottom which is the only mark. There aren't any chips or cracks but has paint loss and it feels rough to the touch on the nside rim of the top. Cost of shipping will vary by your location as this weighs between 1-2 pounds. VICTORIAN CRANBERRY BOWL VANITY JAR w HAND PTD ENAMEL TRIM & ORNATE BRASS FEET
This Victorian cranberry glass bowl has a 3 7/8” diameter brass ring on the rim and is 3 ¼” tall sitting up on 3 ormalu brass shell& scroll feet. The pretty cranberry pink bowl has hand painted Art Nouveau style raised enamel decoration on the shoulder featuring white scrolls and beading filled in with gold beading and larger black dots along the top edge. The brass band on the rim is plain and the fancy feet are attached to a plain brass band around the bottom. Originally there was probably a hinged cover on the bowl because you can see 3 short slots on the edge of the brass rim where it was attached. As an open/coverless bowl it is still a lovely vanity pin dish or flower bowl. The glass has a few imbedded air bubbles. No chip. Cracks or cloudiness. Looks like a petite stamped pattern in the lightly textured& satin" finish background which makes the repousse design"pop" This is a large size& the hinged handle is appropriate to the size. Unmarked. Dating to the late 19C period. Measures approx. 11-3/4" long x 8" wide x 3-1/4" tall(not including the handle) Beautiful used condition. Some bends along the edge but not bad. A couple of tiny dings in the center embossed pattern, very small and they seem to coordinate with the footing work below so I think they occurred ... morein the making. I gave it a light polishing but it needs more, particularly to the under/outside surface. I leave additional polishing to the new owner if desired. The silver plating seems to be in very good condition, I'm not seeing evidence of much wear at all, very minimal& light surface scratching, nothing distracting. Antique Tea Caddy English Victorian Mahogany w/ Antique Glass Bowl
A wonderful example of old Victorian formality. Tea was a treasure and needed a locked box in which to keep it. This example has two removal boxes to store the tea. Both lined with tin. The brass handles on each side are wonderfully bold and look almost like lion heads, however they do need polishing but I was afraid to get polish on the wood. The decorative mosaic wood around the individual tea boxes and the main box are quite lovely although some pieces are missing. You can see that in the pictures. There is also some veneer missing. The glass bowl is quite lovely although there is a tiny chip on the base. The box measures 12" in lenglth and 6" in width and 6" in depth. A lovely example of Victorian times. This is a Antique. Hand-Painted Victorian Decorative Bowl in Very Good Condition; no chips, no cracks, no damage. Normal wear of the gold design on the underside. Stamped on the bottom with the Nippon Maple Leaf which dates back to 1891. I don't know exactly how old it is, but it was part of our grandmother's Vintage and Antique Victorian collections. Bowl measures 7" across. The Bowl opening measures 4" wide. The rim of the Bowl is curved in by almost 1-1/2" Bowl stands about 1-3/4" high. Pearl colored backgroud with Victorian Floral Design. Sterling Silver Cream Jug and Sugar Bowl- Antique Victorian A fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver cream jug and sugar bowl; an addition to our silver teaware collection. Description. This fine pair consists of an antique Victorian English sterling silver cream jug and sugar bowl. Both pieces have an oval boat shaped form onto a colet foot. The lower portion of the body of each component is embellished with embossed fluted and bead decoration in a swirl design below an embossed and chased scrolling border accented with floral and foliate designs. The ornamentation to the body of each piece incorporates a scroll bordered shaped vacant cartouche to one side. The cream jug and sugar bowl are fitted with angular sterling silver handles. These fine examples of antique silverware have an applied moulded ... morerim and retain the original gilded interiors. Condition Both pieces of this antique set are a very good gauge of silver. Fine quality and in excellent presentation condition. The embossed and chased decoration is very sharp. The gilt interior shows sign of wear in keeping with age. Nice little vintage collection of victorian majolica to include two small round 5 3/4 inch bowls. Predominately turquoise and green with a pink center flower, some edge and surface wear to the glazes, typical crazing and one's slightly darker than the other, The brown and green leaf dish is about 7 inches and other than a couple of small glaze misses on the surface is in near perfect condition. The fourth and stylized leaf dish almost 8 inches long and predominately turquoise with brown has a couple of small chips to the underside and I notice an even smaller chip on an upper edge however the piece displays beautifully regardless and small imperfections should be rather expected on this type of softer pottery and they will age from between 120 and 150 years old give or take a few years so it's hardly surprising.Low opening bid and ... moreno reserve.Actual shipping charges only apply and can be calculated or seen on the auction page. This is a very nice set of SIX flow blue Victorian era bowls. Which appear to be Grindley Brother s or similar(I ha d a difficult time reading the mark. Which is shown in pictures 4 and 5) There are no chips, however; there is crazing under the glaze o n most of the bowls due to heat exposure. Some of the gold leaf trim is still ful ly intact. There are a few small ch op ma rks in some of the bowls. But not bad at all given the age. I bel ieve the pictures speak for themselves on this listing and you ar e bidding on all six for on e money. Flow Blue bowls were used in the most eloquent homes back in the e ra and any one would be prou d to have th ese to display or use on a special occasion. This depicts not only rococo florals in relief(as with most examples) but also four stylized birds(pheasants? Game hens? in relief. Note also that this is done in two finishes of gold: some high-finish and shiny; other burnished and matte. Solid. Heavy, and good sized ath 10 ¾” diameter and 1 1/8” deep. There is a ¼” factory error in the body of the plate near the edge. This is not damage and is noted for accuracy- the corresponding glaze line on the back does not extend through the edge of the plate. Super excellent quality with sharp detail and multiple markings. Antique Victorian Silver-Plated Wedding Basket / Bridal Bowl
My aunt gave my mother this wedding basket. I suspect it was my aunt's mother's basket(my grandmother's) So it would date from the 1800's sometime. As my aunt was born well before 1900 and my grandmother would have married a lot earlier than that. Because the shape is just right for holding letters. My mother used it as her unpaid bill holder for years. It has a flower pattern. With flowers etched on the outside, and different types of flowers raised on the inside. Two angels are in the circles on both sides, watering and caring for a garden(one has a watering can, and one is reaching up to a bird nest in a tree) Note that I have added a picture with a paper inside the basket so you can more clearly see the angels cut out.
