ANTIQUE Trent PORTRAIT TILE ~ gorgeous blue ~ 6x6 ~ HIGHLY raised design~Framed
The sale is for this Trent antique portrait tile with a VERY highly raised design. This is one of the most desirable Trent portrait tiles. I have not removed it from the frame but I am quite familiar with this tile. It will be unmarked with a concave image of the face on the back of the tile. It appears that someone colored(brown) which I suspect are some abrasions to the high points of the glaze. If it were removed you would have unglazed abrasions which would be difficult to notice and a more homogeneous look if that is preferred. Please zoom in on the pictures to see. The frame is deep and quite ornate but is damaged in the lower left hand corner. The tile alone is 6x6 inches. I have many antique tiles listed and many of them the very desirable portrait tiles. Trent Tile - Artist Signed - Wood Frame
Selling a small. Artist signed Trent tile in a wood frame. Trent Tile was located in Trenton, New Jersey in the 1890s. The tile itself is 3 1/4" x 6" The wood frame is 6" x 8 1/2" The scene on the tile is of a sail boat with a house in the background. The signature I think is"Wood" and the date of the signature is 1913. The tape backing of the tile has come loose. It still has a seal from Woodward and Lothrop. Woodies was a major store in Washington, DC that is no longer in business. The tile is in good condition. The wood frame needs a little restoration. I believe this is earthenware with a transfer-printed decoration. Unfortunately. I don't know which artist painted this one. This is not in perfect condition. There are a few condition issues(look at the corners and edges in the pictures) There is also a little bit of a"blueish" hue in one small area that I believe is some sort of stain. But can't be sure. Beautiful tile 2 3/4" in diameter of a young girl in profile. With a kerchief on her hair. There is a notch(not a chip) on the bottom- I think that is for ease in setting the tile. I have seen the exact, same tile for $150.00 elsewhere on eBay. As mentioned. This tile does have crazing. This manufacturer was located in Trenton New Jersey. If you have any questions. Trent Lotus Flower Vintage Tile
Trent Tile Company. Trenton, NJ 1882-1939 This vintage tile has a 3-dimensional feel and depicts a large lotus flower in the center with 2 partial flowers on the sides. Pretty pastel glaze colors have a glossy finish and some crazing. This came from Norman Karlson's collection. But did not get photographed for his book"Encyclopedia of American Art Tiles" The sticker on the back: 043 represents Trent-X is his code for tiles not in the book. It measures 6" sq x 1/2" thick. Great condition; has some very minor edge wear.

Tile is marked Trent Tile Trenton N.J. U.S.A. on the back. Tile is 6" x 6" in size and is in overall fair condition. Tile has typical glaze crazing; it has glaze rubs on her nose and cheek. And glaze scratches near the bottom front of the tile. Rare PAIR Antique Trent Tile Co.Trenton NJ 18" green majolica mantel tiles On offer is this amazing pair of 18" tall. 6" wide ceramic tiles from a mantel, An antique early 1900's pair from the Trent Tile Company of Trenton. New Jersey. Prolific tile producers in the early 1900's. This hard to find pair of tiles are glazed in a deep earthy green. Two men. Each a musician. Piccolo and flute players Beautifully glazed in a way that gives depth to the subject. Overall glaze crazing for the heat of the fire below. They have a couple of edge chips and some glaze rubbing to the raised decoration. One has a dark stained chip near the top.There has been some repainting to the fingers etc. Perhaps could have been done better. A truly beautiful large pair of tiles from a great manufacture. 1880's Trent Tile Co Antique Portrait Tile Great antique 1880's portrait tile of a lady with a detailed high lace collar. Braided hair wound in a bun with a head band. It is in a beautiful teal blue green glaze, that looks a little different color according to light and background, I tried to show this in the photos. It is made by Trent Tile Co. Trenton, New Jersey, the tile is unmarked. Condition: It is in great condition! There is a small chip on the back of the tile see pic#12. There is a little bit of rough edges on the high lace collar. But I don't see any chips. There is normal age related glaze cracks that is common on antique tiles, but they are not very significant nor very noticeable. There is a recessed boarder around the tile, on the left side of the boarder edge there are two small minor chips under the glaze that ... morewere there before firing. I just wanted to mention all flaws, they are minor and do not detract from the beauty of the tile. Size: It measures 4" square to edge of tile. 4 1/4" including the recessed boarder. Pair Antique Trenton NJ Trent Pottery Portrait Stove Tile PTWF Medallions Faces
This auction is for a nice pair of antique circular stove or medallion tiles. They appear to depict a man and wife or daughter in their sleeping caps. Both are marked P. T. W. F. and Trenton. N.J. on the back. They have a matching yellow/green glaze and both measure approximately 3" in diameter. Both have chips along the bottom edge as shown, and there are scuffs to the nose, chin and hairline of the man's face as well as to the woman's chin. Both also have crazing but no cracks.

Pugin in 1840-1850s and manufactured by Minton China Works- Stoke on Trent. England in the 1870's to 1880's. The back of the tile has the Walbrook emblem and the name Minton- China Works- Stokes on Trent is easily readable. There is some slight blackening of the back of the tile which signifies its use in a Victorian fireplace but the back is relatively clean. There is no frontal surface damage to the color. Lot Of Antique Trent/Cambridge Tile Includes 2 Portrait Tiles Of A Man And Woman
I have here a lot of antique Trent tile made in Trenton N.J. There are a total of 9 pieces of Trent and 1 piece of Cambridge. The other piece of tile I can not read the makers name. The first 2 tiles are the portrait tiles. One features a woman. It measures 6 x 6. The back still has a patch of the mortar attached that covers most of the word Trent. However a T is quite visible. There are also some abrasions along the raised portions of the tile. There is also writing on it that says sitting room. I have been told that these were taken out of the Wilmington Inn in Wilmington Ohio, but have no verification of that. The second portrait tile is that of a man. It also measures 6 x 6. As with the other tile there is mortar on the back and some abrasions on the front. Trent is clearly visible on this piece. The next 7 pieces are a plain brown color. ... moreThey all measure 6 x 6. 6 of them are in really good condition with the word Trent clearly visible. The seventh tile has a chip off of the one side and has mortar over the word Trent. The next 2 pieces are not Trent. One is definitely Cambridge. It measures 4 x 1 1/2. It has been broken and should measure 6 x 1 1/2. The other piece I am assuming is Cambridge, I can not read the name on the back. Since it is the same color it is probably a good bet that it is also Cambridge. It measures 6 x 1 1/2. They both have a brown, pale green, and cream colored marble pattern.
