This is a transfer tile with John Hancock's former home, John Hancock was a former governor of Mass. The house itself was erected in 1737 and demolished in 1863 to make way for a new wing of the State House. The back of the tile is marked Minton China Works with their logo indicating Stoke Upon Trent, Walbrook, London.The blue marking reads"Published By Macullar Parker Company. This tile was one of a pair of tiles produced around 1895. the other being the"Boston State House 1818" exclusively made for and distributed for the Macullar Parker Co as souvenirs for visitors to Boston. Marked On Back"Mintons China Works Stoke Upon Trent" and stamped"R No. 23111" Measures 6" square& 1/2" deep. Chips on edges of tile; uneven lacquered finish. Where it was lacquered at one time& the edges were under the edges of the stand and were not lacquered. TRENT VICTORIAN MAJOLICA GLAZE `STYLIZED ACANTHUS` HIGH RELIEF MOULDED TILE
This unusual tile was made by the Trent tile factory. It is moulded in high relief with a central boss surrounded by acanthus leaves. The tile is coloured with rich majolica glaze in shades of brown. The tile is 6 inches square and in good condition. The back has 6 ribs. T in a star and TRENT.

This tile is 6" x 6" and it is 1" thick. It has round pieces of cork adhered to it. I am guessing it was used as a trivet at home point. Please view the photos to determine condition for yourself. It remains sturdy and strong. It is also heavy! Minton& Co c.1828- 1868 commercial production from circa 1835. Tile making managed by partner Michael Daintry Hollins from 1840 onwards whence the brand name. Minton, Hollins, Co. was adopted. Michael Hollins is recorded as working in the factory from at least 1838. 5] Minton Hollins& Co. And Minton& Co brands were used on tiles contemporaneously in the nineteenth century, catalogues, letterheads and advertising wares show Minton& Co in conjunction with Minton Hollins& Co as late as 1912. Michael Hollins became a partner in Minton& Co in 1840 and Colin Campbell in 1849. Whilst Hollins managed the tile business Campbell managed the china business and had little involvement in the tile business. 2] Upon the death of Herbert Minton in 1858 Michael Hollins became the senior partner and Colin Campbell the junior partner. When the partnership was dissolved in 1868 when the company split in to Minton Hollins& Co the tile company the remaining china and pottery company apprently continued trading as Herbert Minton& Co until 1873 when it became Mintons Ltd. Campbell started making tiles contrary to the agreement and Hollins sued. The court found in favour of Hollins who received a large sum in settlement from Campbell. Following the court judgment Minton, Hollins, Co and Mintons Ltd both had the right to use the name Minton& Co for their speciality products. Late 1800's Cast Iron Parlor Stove Pediment with Trent Stove Tile. Victorian parlor stoves were very ornate and often decorated with ceramic tiles that were custom made to fit into the cast iron. The 2-piece cast iron pediment exhibits stylized Gothic Revival motifs. It is nickel plated.With wear and surface rust.A little elbow grease with OOO steel wool may bring up more of the plating. The tile is marked Trent(Trenton,NJ) and has chips as seen on some high points,but no cracks. The crescent shaped notch is moulded into the tile at the factory to prevent round tiles from spinning,as it sits around a pin in the cast iron. Wonderful early Mintons tile with young woman carrying a jug over her shoulder. This brown transferwere tile is in great shape! There are no discoloration problems. The color is vivid throughout the tile, sorry about the glare on a few of the photos, the glazing is in excellent condition) There is extremely minor wear to the very edge of the tile on the upper left side, but you really have to look close to notice it at all, it may have been there in the making. This is a colourful moulded Victorian tile showing a stylized Sunflower. It is moulded in low relief and brightly coloured with majolica glazes. The tile is 6 inches square. I WAS CONTACTED BY A MUSUESM INTERESTED IN ME DONATING THIS BECAUSE ITS ONE OF THEFIRST AND THE BEST OF TRENT TILE Trent Tile Company. Trenton, NJ 1882-1939 tHIS is a very old tile with a glossy, glass-like glaze. The raised image is a silhouette of a woman with a scarf around her head. Very 3-dimensional and the crazing adds character. Nice detailing in her scarf and dress. Glaze colors are shades of brown, teal/green and beige. Measures 6" square x 3/4" thick and has some surface wear. This came from Norman Karlson's collection and can be seen in his Encyclopedia of American Art Tiles. Region 2, page 181

Antique Trent Tile Company Signed Tile Concentric Circles in Relief Framed
Up for bid is a lovely embossed relief ceramic tile made by the Trent Tile Company. The tile itself measures 6 1/8" x 6 1/8. It has been professionally framed. But can easily be removed or unbracketed. Together with frame, it measures 8 5/8" x 8 5/8. The back is signed"TRENT" in embossed letters. The Trent Tile Company was founded in Trenton. NJ is 1882 and made decorative embossed tiles in a variety of rich glaze colors until 1939. FRONT CONDITION: The front of the tile is in great condition considering it's age and has a nice. Allover crazing. There's a bit of surface wear on a few of the raised dots of the center circle, but these are barely noticeable. There are also some small chips along the edge of the tile, but these are covered up by the lip of the frame. The only one that is not covered up is a tiny nick ... moreon the edge of one of the circles, but since it is close to the edge of the frame, it'd hardly noticeable. Please view images CAREFULLY. BACK CONDITION: The back is also in great condition. Except for a small chip on the edge of one of the corners. This chip impacts one of the back corners and sides, and not the front of the tile. At one time it was mounted because there's a bit of grout residue on the back. I have posted images of the tile in and out of it's frame to show all surfaces of the tile. Please inspect them carefully to confirm that you agree with my assessments. PAYMENT I accept PayPal as the only form of payment. ARE CLEARLY MARKED MINTON TRENT UPON STOKE ON THE BACK AND CAME WITH A LOAD OF OTHER MINTON TILES. LISTING IS FOR BOTH CORNER TILES I WILL SEPARATE THEM IF YOU WANT.
