ROSEVILLE 1/2 Half Gal Brown & Cream Stoneware Jug, Robinson Ransbottom PERFECT
Description: Here is a nice cream and brown jug made in Roseville OH by the Robinson-Ransbottom Pottery Co. On the bottom it is impressed RRPCO ROSEVILLE O with USA in the center. There are no chips on the bottom and the glaze is even. The only other thing you see are the kiln stilt marks. Look at my pictures and you will see the super shine of the glaze and my reflections in it. I am no expert but have sold a few crocks from this company and this one looks to be in the best shape that I have ever seen. These were made to be utilized and not to last for centuries but this one is in crazy good condition and I cannot imagine it looking any better on the day it came out of the kiln. I do not know if it is the original cork but it looks like it has been in there a long time. The jug size isn’t on the jug but it is right between a known quart ... morejug and a gallon so I surmised that it must be a 1/2 Gallon. Please look at all of my pictures as they are the best part of my description to help you decide whether to purchase it or not Keep Coming back to see what the relicseeker has to offer. I travel all around New Hampshire. Vermont, and Northern Massachusetts scouting out places for hidden gems. I have a good eye for what people want and there are plenty of places for me to ferret out antiques and collectible from yesterday and a few gems that will become the antiques of tomorrow. I try to take detailed pictures of my items but cannot capture every detail. I am not a collector of these items. I often get pieces in box lots with items I do collect and then sell off the other treasures I find to those who will surely appreciate them. All sales are final and"as is. Antique Blue Pottery Stoneware Pitcher Jug Vase Uhl Pottery Indiana
WELCOME TO MY PAGE UP FOR AUCTION: COLLECTIBLE ANTIQUE STONEWARE BLUE PITCHER VASE BY UHL POTTERY The year was 1848 in Lisberg. Germany. Brothers August and Louis Uhl worked at their father's business, primarily making ceramic roofing tile. The two brothers, quite young, decided it best they seek out their fortunes in America. Elder brother August decided it best he scout out an area first, and so he set out. Initially, August landed in New York and set out for Pittsburgh. There, he set forth on the Ohio River on boat, looking for a prime area. Along the way, August took inventory of the clays of the areas passed, and decided Evansville to have the optimal plasticity for making pottery. Louis eventually came over. And the two founded A. L. Uhl in Evansville at Ninth and Sycamore streets. The two divided tasks, and the business prospered. ... moreInitial products included jars, vases, jugs, and stone pumps. After a period of time, it was decided the Evansville area clay was inferior to the superior quality the brothers expected. A good fire clay was located in Huntingburg, and after testing the brothers confirmed the quality. Soon, wagons of Huntingburg clay were sent to Rockport, then down the Ohio River to Evansville for storage. Wares were made by hand. And the quality of the products grew the business. In 1879, Louis purchased August's interest in the company. Louis' son George joined his father as a partner in the new Louis Uhl& Son Company. George's brother Charles soon purchased his brother's interests, and the Uhl Pottery Company was formed. In 1908, Louis died and the company moved operations to Huntingburg for proximity to the clay deposits. It was on this site that the Uhl Pottery Company produced its famous"Acorn Wares" until the 1940s. Cover of the 15th edition of the Uhl Pottery Company catalog. Salesmen often carried sales catalogs on trips. From Indiana to as far away as Florida. Uhl Pottery found its way into the homes and businesses of America. The company persisted thro

Antique Rare Ashfield Hastings & Belding Stoneware Jug Whately Massachusetts 19C
Ashfield and Whately collectors will know this rare stamp. Only in existence a few years. The abstract vine design is fantastic. The kiln touch mark in the design, is in the making. There is a bit of glaze and cobalt loss in that touch mark-but guaranteed stable. There is a very old tiny chip at the spout, a very shallow, very old chip bottom right front-hard to see. Tiny kiln stone pops. See all pictures. Absolutely no restorations or issues. Approx 13.5" tall. These are rare from a place and time important in New England Stoneware History. Some of the few known are in Historical Societies and Museums. The Connecticut Historical Society had this: Hastings& Belding Wellington Hastings David Belding American. 1850- 1854 Wellington Hastings Biography: In 1850. Wellington Hastings and David Belding bought shares in a stoneware factory ... morein Ashfield, Massachusetts. The partnership lasted for about four years. Here is more: Tan-bodied stoneware jug stamp-impressed"ASHFIELD. MASS" in-filled with cobalt blue, over a large dark, interlaced abstract design similar to the interlaced handles on contemporary silver and pewter porringers. The brief period of stoneware production in Ashfield involved the following people. Walter Orcutt(1799-1854) and his brother Eleazer Orcutt(b.1796) sons of Whately potter Stephen Orcutt(1777-1821) probably moved to Vermont with their family in 1817, and later worked as potters in Troy, New York, where they moved around 1823. Walter seems to have left Troy in the summer of 1824, and probably continued as a potter in NY's Hudson Valley pottery area(although his second child may have been born in Conway in 1825) Walter left NY in 1832 to return to Whately to convert Thomas Crafts' redware works to a stoneware pottery, and where he was joined by David Belding(1813-1854) who was born in Whately and had also been working in NY. In 1840, Walter Orcutt was listed in the census as living in Conway, and appears in the 1847 Ashfield town records in which he is listed in partner

19th C A.K. Ballard Bennington Vt saltglaze 2 gal. stoneware jug w cobalt flower
Offered here as a buy it now or best offer is this 2 gallon A.K. Ballard(Bennington Vermont) salt glaze stoneware jug with a rather impressive floral cobalt decoration. Aside from some glaze drips the sole apology I can find is a barely perceptible'spider' to the side as shown in my last picture(the small'irregularities' to the glaze shown in my 9th and 10th pictures are. I believe, in the manufacturing of the jug) However, the spider is sufficiently tight and small that I'm not sure it isn't simply in the glaze(cant see, of course, that far into the interior of the jug) Nevertheless, as my pictures show, the cobalt is massive and impressive. ba sically encompassing the whole front-side of the jug. USPS domestic shipping with insurance will run $2 2. RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp*3A%3Cd%3Ff6%3E-13df8b184b1-0xfd-

John Turner c1795 Large stoneware applied jug Wedgwood type
Here is a beautiful piece a museum piece if you prefer. I have actually seen one by this maker in the V& A Museum in London I have added a photo of another jug and same period. But it is much smaller(4ins)than the one I am selling, mine is 6in high x 11 in long(inc handle) and 8in wide. As is plainly obvious there has been a 19th century old repair made to the hand with pewter. This just adds to the charm of such an old jug 215 yrs old it has survived well. These are rare pieces. There is no turner stamp but looking at turners other pieces especially the little jug in picture it can only be from john turners factory and it is also an early piece. Postage is 31 euros to USA and Europe

Vtg Pottery Brown Drip Jug Liquor Decanter Stoneware Carafe Pitcher Cruet Vase
I really don't know anything about this beautiful piece of pottery. It measures about 9 inches tall and 16 inches around at the widest point. It appears to be quite old and has Poland stamped on the bottom. There no cracks or chips just a few imperfections in the piece. I took two close up pictures of the top where there seems to be a bit of a chip. However I believe it is just due to a flaw in its original making. Thanks for looking! Enjoy your day! Posted with
