Here we have a Red Wing 5 gallon jug I picked up at an estate sale. This is in good shape for its age. The handle is intact and I do not see any sort ... moreof cracks that are common on these pieces. There are a few chips along the top shoulder and the bottom edge. But none are very big(see pictures) This jug is about 18" tall and 12" in diameter. There is a cork that is in the neck that appears to be non-original. Very nice piece that will display nicely! Due to the weight and how fragile these are. I'm only offering shipping to the United States and Canada. I will carefully pack this in multiple boxes to make sure it it well protected. Local pickup is also an option. Feel free to ask me any questions. Check out my other auctions for more antiques and collectibles! I will gladly combine shipping on multiple purchases. Paypal please and prompt payment is expected unless you make arrangements with me. Thank you!

Wow super rare The Casper Whiskey Co. Stoneware Jug. This orginial jug was a mail order jug which was distributed from John Casper whiskey plant in Winston-Salem N.C. sometime in the late 1800's to early 1900's. North Carolina which had many anti-drinking activist soon tighten up the laws on John and banned whiskey and it's mail order sale in 1906. Casper then moved his whiskey business to Roanoke Virginia and in 1913 closed due to strick laws which crippled his business. This antique jug comes from the N. Jug measures approx 13 inches to bottom of jug to top of wire handle and ... moreis approx 7 inches at it's thickest. Jug has web cracks like most vintage salt stoneware items do and a small chip on to of jug at handle hole and a small chip on the bottom jug. Wood on wire handle has a defect and not for certain if its orginial handle? Also don't believe the cork stopper is orginial but not for sure? Overall jug is sound and has no cracks and in good shape for it's age and is extremely hard to find. Any minor defects I've missed is purely accidental and not meant to deceive you the buyer. So look at the photo's closely and ask questions before you bid. A really nice Casper Whiskey collectable. They're just not making any more of these jugs. But look at my return police on this item. Antique 10" Moonshine/Whiskey Chocolate Brown Stoneware Jug
WELCOME! Offered from the American Prohibition Era is a nice medium sized chocolate brown moonshiners jug. It stands roughly 10" tall and is about 8 1/2" wide. Made of thick, durable and sturdy stock weighing in at just under 6 pounds. These jugs were treated quite roughly during prohibition, and it is quite common for them to have some form of damage. After being chucked around, buried, hidden, stashed when police were near, and thrown into vehicles for high speed chases, the scuffs and dings only add to the appreciation of a piece like this. As shown in the main photo, this jug does have one nice display side, and is being offered at a reasonable price. Thanks for viewing and have a great day! RARE J. Woodyatt & Co Brantford Canada West 2 gallon jug stoneware 1857-1859
This is a very old stoneware jug that has been in my family for many. Many years, probably since it was made, but I cannot verify that. It is marked" J. Woodyatt& Co. Brantford CW, 2" Internet research has shown that J Woodyatt operated a pottery in Brantford CW from 1857-1859. This piece has some cracking, none all the way through the piece. Does not appear to have ever been broken or repaired and it's last"use" was apparently as a spittoon. Gross bu true. I washed it gently with warm water and a soft toothbrush so that the design would be visible. There is some chipping on the petals in the design as well as other imperfections throughout. It has very interesting(IMO) patterns of discoloration/patina throughout as can be seen in the photos. I don't know much about pottery. So if you have questions feel free ... moreto email me and be specific in your questions. I will do my best to answer and can try to send more/better pictures if desired. I am listing a flat inflated rate for shipping but will only charge actual shipping and insurance to the buyers destination. Contact me upon winning bid and we will figure out the shipping before you pay.

Lg. Early ANTIQUE REDWARE Stoneware OVOID CROCK Jar Jug Incised - RARE Handles
Lg. Early ANTIQUE REDWARE Stoneware OVOID CROCK Jar Jug Incised- RARE Handles This listing is for an early antique stoneware redware ovoid shape handled crock or storage jar with primitive. Out of round form. The handles on this crock are very unusual and rare. They look to be formed or pulled from the piece. Rather than applied as is commonly seen. The crock is indented, creating a recess behind each handle that allows for carrying. The handles are joined to the main body of the crock on each end. They have an arched shape that makes them easy and comfortable to hold on to. It seems to be an ingenious design. Yet I have not seen this type of handle before. And cannot find another example in any of the American stoneware pottery books. This utilitarian crock or jar was given some beautiful decorative touches with both incised and raised banding ... morearound the body of the piece. At the mouth. There is a rolled rim with two incised bands beneath. In the middle, at handle height, the crock has four raised bands that encircle it at the widest point. The glaze on this jar is stunning. With a wide range of color. There are shapes formed by the glaze that look almost like letters, perhaps a mark of some sort? Or maybe just a happy accident. I believe this piece is quite old. Dating to the early to mid 19 th century. Possibly even the late 18 th century. Though I don’t know the exact age. It measures approx. 12” tall and 12” across the widest point. The mouth is approx. 8-8 ½” across and the base measures 6 ¼” in diameter. The handles are approx. 3 ¼” long x ½” thick. The jar is in very good antique condition. It has appropriate wear for a utilitarian pottery piece of this age. The piece has no cracks or other structural damage. The lip of the crock shows a fair amount of age related wear. Most of the wear is superficial only. With a number of areas where the glaze has flaked or chipped off, but there are just a couple of shallow surface chips as well(please see pictures. The exterior body of the piece is

By 1829 the firm was trading as Prichard and Harvey. Edward continued also in Bristol. Where by 1839 the company was styled Urch, Prichard and Harvey. Around this time Edward left Bristol to concentrate on the Kidderminster business. By 1842 the Bristol company was styled Harvey and White. It can be seen that the name of Harvey had become connected with the businesses in both Bristol and Kidderminster. This came about by the marriage of Anne Urch. Sister of Edward Prichard’s partner. To the Bristol seafarer Thomas Harvey. Their sons John and Charles entered the business. By 1829 both were in Kidderminster but it was the elder son. John, who became Prichard’s partner. John Harvey stayed in Kidderminster until 1840‘living over the shop’ But then relinquished his role to Charles. The story goes that both brothers wanted to work in the Kidderminster branch and they tossed a coin to see who won the right for the privilege to remain in the town. It was Charles who won. John
