Pair of Antique French Sevres Porcelain Turquoise / Teal Urns
This is a nice pair of antique French Sevres porcelain turquoise/ teal urns. They are in pretty good shape for their age with some imperfections more than I could picture but they are all similar to the ones pictured. They are slightly different as the pics show with some discoloration. One has had the finial repaired and imperfections like that shown in pics 11& 12 with some missing enamel and those scratched, they are not cracks. Also they will need a little tightening which I will let the new owner do. I believe they are 19th century adaptations even though it has the 18th century marking underneath as pic 10 shows but I will let you be the judge. Sevres History Sevres Porcelain traces its roots in France to early craftsmen who had small manufacturing operations in such places as Lille. Rouen. St. Cloud, and most notably Chantilly. It is from Chantilly that a cadre of workers migrated to the Chateau de Vincennes near Paris to form a larger porcelain manufactory in 1738. French King Louis XV, perhaps inspired by his rumored relationship with mistress Madame de Pompadour, took an intense interest in porcelain and moved the operation in 1756 to even larger quarters in the Paris suburb of Sevres. Sevres was also conveniently near the home of Madame de Pompadour and the King's own Palace at Versailles. ... moreFrom the outset the king's clear aim was to produce Sevres Porcelain that surpassed the established Saxony works of Meissen and Dresden. This is an antique French dresser box. Oval and bombe shaped. Sevres porcelain with the mark of the studio" Chateau de Longpre" and the word"France" on the bottom. The strong colbalt blue color is accented by the gold design, hand painted and hand designed. The handpainted scene on the lid is that of a pair of lovers in a garden. The artist who signed this box is"A. Grisard" and the signature is located on the left side of the painting. The lid opens to reveal roses on the inside of the lid and bottom of the box. Rare Sevres Porcelain Cobalt Blue & Gold Cup & Saucer Porzellan Tasse Porcelaine
For sale is a superb cup and saucer made by Sevres around 1900. The set is handpainted with their famous deep cobalt blue color with a floral and leaves gold design trim over that that is simply stunning. Nice handle shape as well! The set is in perfect condition which is always a plus. Both pieces are marked underneath- the cup having the green S.98 in an oval and the saucer the S over 1902 in a triangle. Both also have the red Dore a Sevres mark with the date 1903 in it and the usual incised marks Sevres of this period has. The saucer is 0.875 inches tall and 4.75 inches in diameter. Rare 18thC Sevres French Softpaste Bleu Celeste Porcelain Page Turner Porzellan
For sale is a very rare early softpaste page turner for rare large books made by Sevres in about 1760. I could actually not find another one. The handle is made of softpaste porcelain painted with their famous bleu celeste ground color some nice honey gilding and the best part it has a scene of a putto with a bagpipe on the front of the handle. A very nice and detailed scene. The blade is looks to be gilded bronze with the handle going through the porcelain and you can see the attachment point on the other end. The piece looks great but has suffered a bit. The porcelain is fine but the gilding is worn as is the glaze on the bottom side- which one would expect on a piece like this. The celeste blue is spotty in places from the making which is not unusual for the early pieces. Sadly the highly engraved blade has broken at some point but was ... moremended well some time ago. It needs to be straightened a bit and regilded if you like that- I don't mind it as it shows it's age a bit and was a piece meant to be used. The metal part is a tiny bit loose as well. Unmarked since there really isn't a spot to mark it. A very rare and fun piece of porcelain! The entire piece is 14 inches long with the porcelain part showing being 5.25 inches long. 1.75 inches wide and 0.75 inches thick. Rare 19thC Sevres French Floral Porcelain Plate Porzellan Teller Blumen 1890's
For sale is a great plate/ soup bowl made by Sevres in the late 19th century. It is quite decorative being handpainted with a floral arrangement in the center. A few smaller floral arrangements on the rim with smaller flowers and tiny leaves filling in the rest of the rim. A superb leaf garland along the edge with a nice gold trim topping off a perfect plate:No wonder they are the only real competition for Meissen except for KPM off course: The plate is in perfect condition and marked underneath as shown with the green Sevres mark S.93 in an oval and the Dore a Sevres gilder's mark in red for 1895. There are also the usual incised marks as well as a painter's mark for Trager who painted flowers from 1887 until 1909. The plate is 1.625 inches tall and 9.5 inches in diameter. This listing is for another beauty out of the collection. It is a"Sevres" plaque fitted into a perfectly carved for it's subject all wood(no gesso) frame. This is good sized the frame measures 18 by 13 1/2 inches or 46 by 34 cm. The frame houses the central porcelain plaque and four corner porcelain spandrels. All are of course hand painted. Each top quality piece of antique continental porcelain measures 10 1/4" tall X 7 1/2" wide at widest. And each weighs a hefty 3 pounds, 10 ounces. Decorated with two of the most vividly realistic hand painted Neoclassical pastoral scenics you'll ever see. The back of each garniture vase depicts a sumptuous floral bouquet. Meticulously crafted hard paste wares of this type were extremely popular among the finest manufacturers of European decorative porcelains in the Napoleon III Era; and the Sevres factory is remembered for producing some of the most sumptuous objets d'art of this type. The quality appears to be Sevres all the way! And I am very happy to report that this glorious duo remains in generally very good condition. Though I note the following flaws: It appears each vessel has received a re-gilding to the gold at least twice somewhere along the line. Also. The vessel depicting the lassie tending sheep has some flaws present, including: 1) tight 4" radiating spider crack, 1) 1/2" top rim chip, and an aged repair to one handle& some nicking at the top join of the base pedestal. There are no other damages to either vessel present and this includes no paint losses or even paint scratching to speak of. The flaws that are present are all depicted in the last five detail images that you see. Image#12 in fact. Shows all of these faults. And as you note, they are inconspicuous. The paintings are signed by the artist and depict a scene of the 19c. with people dressed for that period. the gold work is raised not flat.They are in very good antique condition. the bodies are perfect. one of the tops is probably repaired. one of the bases had a hairline crack that was restored about a year ago. as you see. The piece bears the"SEVRES" MANUFACTURE NATIONALE" FRANCE" mark in use from 1926 until 1942. The base also bears the"DORE A SEVRES" red circle mark. The box has an elegant Art Deco design with classically inspired curvilinear lines. The thin walled base and lid are done in bright white porcelain with crisp mold. The exterior is finished in a deep cobalt glaze with gloss finish highlighted with fine gold enamel blossoms. The white interior is decorated with the same finely detailed florals. The box measures 3 ½" in diameter and 2" high. Beautiful. Exquisite Antique Sevres French Hand Painted Porcelain Floral Cobalt with Gold Gilding Urn Lamp with Shade. The lamp is in perfect working condition and can be used as a functional lamp. This Sevres Antique Porcelain Lamp is in pristine used condition, no chips, cracks or wear the colors are bright and vibrant the gold gilding is still brilliant. The shade is in good used condition, except for wear of the silk material on inside of shade due to age, but this does not affect the condition on the outside of shade. It looks like the shade could be made of a satin material on the outside with silk on the inside of shade. The shade has braided brocade edging with blue velvet trim at top and brocade edging around the edge of bottom of shade.The shade measures 13 3/4" tall and 12" wide, the porcelain urn measures 16" tall ... moreand, 4" wide in mid section of urn and base measures 4" The Decorative ornate(could be Brass? finial fixture at the top of the lamp measures 4" tall. Huge 24" tall Beautiful Sevres style hand painted porcelain ewer signed "SRIER"
Very nice all hand painted Sevres style ewer artist signed"SRIER" It was used as a lamp base, the bottom part is broken and glued all the gilding is in perfect condition, It is great piece to be properly restored. Sizes are 24" H x 6 1/2" square at the base.

19C FRENCH SEVRES PORCELAIN COVERED URN OR VASE HAND PAINTED W/ BRONZE MOUNTS Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE I have been very fortunate to have been able to purchase a single owner estate of very beautiful and choice.Mostly French Empire period to Napoleon III porcelains, circa 1800 to 1870. All of them will be listed here on eBay over the next week or so. Please see my other listings for more out of this strong grouping of antiques. All with no reserve. This listing is for a signed. Circa 1870’s, French Sevres hand painted porcelain covered urn with gilt bronze mounts. The urn measures 17 inches or 43 cm high to the top of the finial on the cover. And is 5 inches or 12.5 cm at its widest. The covered urn is tall and beautiful; it has a pastel pink ground with a hand painted cartouche at the front and back. At the front is ... morean intimate scene of a mother and her son sitting on the side of a creek. She lovingly rests her hand on his head as he plays her a tune on his flute. The piece is signed on the lower right“DAM” At the back is a large and colorful floral bouquet. The both the cover and body are decorated with heavy applied gold. The covers also have elegant hand painted scenes. The urns have gilt bronze ram’s head handles holding wreaths in their mouths. The bronze has a gilt gold patina or color which is all original to the pieces. The top of the lids are marked with a Sevres mark with a triangle inside it. Below it is“S41 FRANCE” The condition overall is good. There is an old hairline in the lid which has been repaired at some point in its life, the rest of the porcelain is in excellent condition. The gilt bronze patina has darkened somewhat with age. And there is minor age appropriate wear to the heavy applied gold. Each Candlestick stands on 3 Ball Feet with a Beaded Top Rim. No Damage! In Beautiful Antique condition with Patina to the Bronze! The Pair stands 6 1/2" in Height and the Base measures 3 1/2" in Diameter. Worthy of ANY Collection! I would definitely guess this pair to be from 19th Century France and more than likely the SEVRES Company. No markings. However. Unusual Paris Porcelain Sevres Style Shell Vases "Made in France"
This pair of unusual Porcelain Shell Vases are both marked"Made in France" on the bottom. They appear to have some age. But may not be older than the twentieth century. They are beautifully decorated, and in very nice condition with only light wear to the gilding. My suspicion is they are from a maker like Samson somewhere around the mid Twentieth C entury.
