It ... morewas made by Henry Marc of Paris. The putti are taking birds from the nest at their feet. The open cage sits next to them. The two Sevres style porcelain panels also feature putti or cherubs with birds. I am not a clock expert so please bear with me. The clock has a pendulum that that is numbered"347" the same as the movement- so I think it's original. The key was made in England so I doubt that is original. I gently wound the clock a little(without the pendulum installed) and it runs. But obviously too fast. It chimes on the hour. I hung the pendulum where I thought it should go and the clock did not run very long. Please email me if you have any specific questions, and I'll do my best to answer them. SIZE: The clock is 12.75 inches tall. And approximately 13.5 inches wide. It weighs 11 pounds 3 ounces. The clock face is just under 3.5 inches diameter. CONDITION: There are some rubs and tarnish to the finish. I haven't tried cleaning the clock. I don't see any repairs or damage. In the photos. You can see what looks like some"separations" in the metal but it is not damage- some pieces were cast separately. Please see the close up pictures for the best description of the cosmetic condition. I believe this is a Sevres vase(please see markings on the base) It is in nice condition and has NO NICKS. CHIPS, CRACKS, OR REPAIRS. There is minor loss of the gold trim on the lip of the vase. Rare 18thC Sevres Porcelain Floral Softpaste Egg Cup Porzellan Eierbecher Eggcup
For sale is a rare egg cup made by Sevres in the 18th century. A very uncommon piece that is made of soft paste porcelain and handpainted with two nice flowers as well as a leaf and a nice gold trim to the top and around the foot. The piece displays nicely but sadly the foot has had a large chip missing which was repaired with a wooden replacement piece overpainted in white. Never seen such a repair in all these years! If the paint hadn't turned darker I am sure it wouldn't be very obvious at all! An easy fix these days with modern advances in restoration work. Otherwise is it in great shape with very little wear to the gilding. The piece is marked with the blue interlaced LL mark with a painter's mark of 4 dots. Older SEVRES pitcher muted brown coloring with a tavern scene. Pitcher is in great solid condition no chips. Cracks, knicks or repairs.Stamped on underside SEVRES. It needs a detailed cleaning,I did not want to clean for fear of damage. It is dusty on the inside and there are a few spots(not sure if they are stains or dirt marks) There are cosmetic flaws that include paint is dull in a few places(with a good cleaning it might become brighter) a couple dark spots near bottom edge, also there are lines on front picture,I have no idea on how to describe them they are not cracks or crazing but have that appearance, gold paint is rubbed and dull on top edge and on spout. Rare 18thC Sevres Jewelled Softpaste Porcelain Cobalt Teapot Porzellan Kanne
For sale is a super teapot made by Sevres in the 18th century. It is made of softpaste porcelain and has a very nice creamy white paste with a dark blue background painted on it. That is highlighted in gold and actual enamel pieces on real gold foil applied to that. They call it jewelled and with good reason. Since the teapot was made too early to be jewelled by Sevres at that time there are two possiblities and I can't tell you which is correct. One- it was stored for a while which I know happened at Meissen a lot and then decorated later or two- it was jewelled by another person like a jeweller or by one of the Limoges area decorators. Either way it truly is an amazing look! The piece is in good condition for it fragile nature. Quite a few of the the jewels are missing. The spout has some tiny chips to the end and the lid has been broken ... morein half and is missing a chip. Also two chips to the inside rim of the lid. The blue is a bit uneven on the lid but that is normal during that time. The lid has the hanging hole on the inside and the bottom of the pot is marked with the interlaced double L mark in blue with the letter u inside and v underneath. Also an incised C or something like that. This is one of the best teapots ever! It is 4.5 inches tall. 6.5 inches wide and 3.75 inches wide. Rare 18thC Sevres Porcelain Battle Scene Scenic Sugar Dish Porzellan Dose Zucker
For sale is a great sugar dish made by Sevres in 1763 according to the letter K. Decorator mark P. likely for the red scroll garlands on the rim. The front was handpainted with a superb battle scene including a dmaged cannon and some riders on horses fighting with swords. Really neat! Nice gold trim and lots of dark blue cobalt ground color. The scene is signed though I cannot quite make it out- Guiltoy maybe? The lid has the same cobalt blue ground color and a fancy gold trim with a floral finial though it looks to be a later replacement piece made for the dish. The bottom part is made of softpaste while the lid seems to be hardpaste. Still a superb set and quite decorative. The set is in great condition with some wear to the gold trim. They are marked as shown with the interlaced double L mark in blue with the letter K in it with the bottom ... morealso having the name Essling underneath. Quite the unusual piece! Amazingly the sauce dish and separate underplate are in perfect condition with virtually no wear even to the gilding. Both pieces are marked underneath as shown with the intertwined L mark with Sevres in between. Also a few incised marks that are common to their wares even today. The dish is 6.5 inches tall. 3.75 inches wide and 9.75 inches long. The undertray is 1.25inches tall, 6.75 inches wide and 11 inches long. The set is handpainted with their famous deep blue color in uneven thicknesses to lend it a superb look and with a gold design trim over that that is simply stunning. Nice handle shape as well! The set is in perfect condition. Both pieces are marked underneath with the number 1907 und S in a triangle in green. Both also have a letter L. which is probably a painters mark and the red Dore a Sevres mark in a circle with the date 1920 in it. So the porcelain was made in 1907 and decorated in 1920 which is common for Sevres porcelain of this period. Also a lot of incised marks typical of Sevres. This auction is for an antique Porcelain Cup& Saucer. The Teacup. Which measures 2 ¾” tall by 2 5/8” diameter, is marked on the bottom with an 18th century Sevres Porcelain Mark. According to my research, Sevres put a letter A in the center of the“Double-Louis” starting in 1753 and changed the letter with each year, omitting W. The marking on this cup has a K in the center which dates it from 1764. This Sevres Porcelain Teacup has a very finely hand painted 3 3/8” by 2” vignette of a colorful, exotic bird. There is a tiny chip to the inside edge of this teacup and another on the bottom edge. There are no other problems or any restorations. Along with this Teacup comes a 5 ¼” diameter Porcelain Saucer. The marking on the bottom of this saucer is also“Sevres” but after comparing it to others, and acknowledging that the letter E would mean that it dates from 1757, I have determined that this is not an authentic marking. Early Sevres Porcelain and Ormolu Clock Set. Silk Suspension Movement ~ French- Circa 1850 ~. ~~ Excellent condition. Fully overhauled ~~. A glorious and early original antique French clock set featuring Sevres style porcelain and cherubs. It is most exquisitely modelled in the classical style of Louis XVI. Finely chased and crisply modelled in ormolu(finely gilded brass/bronze) and mounted with Sevres style porcelain panels. Porcelain has a blue ground and is delicately painted with floral swags. The panel below the dial is painted with a delightful scene of two cherubs. To the top of the clock is a cherub marking off time. Candelabra have porcelain mounted bases upon which stand cherubs, one boy and one a girl, holding the four branches aloft as burning touch é. Branches are modelled as stylised acanthus. The clock sits on its polished ... moreintegral base allowing the reflection of the pendulum to be seen swinging within. This clock set has been impeccably prepared by our restorers and is beautifully bright and clean. Ready to display. The dial is enamel in copper. Lettered in blue with separate minute and hour rings. The finely fretted gilt brass hands are original and the hobnail bezel is fitted with convex glass. The rear door is also glazed to allow the movement to be seen. The French movement is of excellent quality and is the early design with silk suspension and outside hammer stop spring. The backplate of the movement is marked"M" for the retailer and unusually the case is also marked with the same"M" Movement is in excellent.
