The face of the dial is stamped"JAPY FRERES& CIE PARIS" The clock has a door at the back for access to the winding arbor. There is also the arbor to set the time. 1895 Signed LeMaire Mother of Pearl Opera Glasses Paris Mechanical Cream Nice NR
I am very pleased to offer this sweetpair of mother of pearl French opera glasses that are functional and in super shape for age! The pair has a neat middle stem with a tooled center so that it fits into a small rod as you screw it in. This enables you to adjust the glasses from the stem as well as the top of the glasses but that wouldn't be as cool or socialable for that time. THe glasses measure aprox 3 1/2" wide by 3" long and 1 1/2" deep. The screw on stem is 5" long and there is NO breaks in the glass. NO damage to the MOP, and the brass is very clean for age. It is signed on the stem ond twice on the glasses with the makers mark as well as a"K" The color is what I would describe as a washed out cream and is very attractive. The last patent date is May 7, 1895 and in a nut shell, just a super example ... moreif you collect or if you want to use them at the opera, the optics are very good and crisp and clear. Up for bids is a beautiful old violin/fiddle. It has a highly flamed two piece tiger maple back and sides. The top is spruce.no cracks or repairs that I can see. It has inlaid purlfing.it measures 23.4 inches in overall length. It has a small label inside that reads: J. N. Lambert rue Michel-le Comte Paris 1785 and it has a violin on one corner and a lute on the other. It has a very nice tone also. I'm not sure but it may have been refinished at one time. I cleaned it up with Fiddle Brite and it cleaned up very pretty. I really don't think it is as old as the label says so I would think it is a copy although it doesn't state that. Guignol Changing Face Toy. Paris late 1800s early 1900s
This changing face toy is called Guignol after the French version of Punch& Judy puppets. It is printed by lithography with the plates mounted on square dowels. There are 4 faces for each of the 6 rods. The rods are not removed from the box. There are metal endcaps that allow the rods to slide so they can be rotated. No date is shown. It is marked as being published by Imprimerie. MAGIC, 68, Av. des Gobelins- Paris The printing is in superb condition. The box lid is in very good condition but the box base has wear from use. The box is badly ripped on the sides. There is gold paper ric- rac glued onto the top of the box as a frame around the changing face parts. This is a fantastic and very rare toy.It is extremely rare to find this toy even in its current condition which shows heavy play. It will be an excellent addition to any toy collection.

Love this! this little diarama features a very sophisticated celluloid fashion doll who is walking her poodle right in front of the Eiffel Tower! She has open and shut pretty eyes. Curly light strawberry blond hair she has a chic herringbone suit and hat her heels are nailed to the bottom of the box. The background is a cardboard cutout. She stands on cardboard with grass like material. The box is the old cellephane material. This may have come with some type of perfume at one point in time. The box is very yellowed torn and ripped. Inside doll and dog. Clothes in excellent condition. Cardboard background shows wear. Description This vintage circa 1920-30's Art Deco advertising fan for Parfum Pompeia by L.T. Piver of Paris. Has plain wooden ribs and end pieces set with paper printed with a fabulous young lady flying a bi-wing plane, with her dog above a Mediterranean scene of yachts and speed boats. This lovely old piece is unfortunately damaged with sections missing, including the body of the dog and part of the plane, also to the ends, parts of the sea scene including the bottom left hand section where the artists name is usually marked.
