It was created by German company Orivit(1898-1905) The Orivit factory was founded in Cologne(Germany) in 1894 by Ferdinand Hubert Schmitz. The brandname Orivit was introduced in 1898 and was primarily meant for their(silverplated) pewterware. Soon however. Other materials as brass, copper and mountings for porcelain and glass were also stamped Orivit. Their participation in the 1900 Paris World Exhibition was a great succes and the firm was awarded a gold medal. Some of the important designers that worked for Orivit are Hermann Gradl. Walter Scherf and Georges Coudray. After producing all sorts of metalware with great succes, the firm collapsed in 1905 and was taken over by WMF. They produced Orivit products for some 25 years on. The bowl was manufactured around in the early 1920s(judging by the model number) and represents the interesting mix of the Art Nouveau motives and more simplistic Art Deco style. This auction is for two antique hand-painted porcelain plates by Mansard 34 Rue Paradis Paris. One is a 9.5" plate in the desirable bird pattern featuring ducks and the other is a 8.5" plate featuring a vegetable pattern. These plates are most likely from the early 1800s and have a stylistic"S" monogram with gilt and scalloped edges. Both plates are in very nice condition. There is some wear showing on the gilt edges. Especially on the smaller plate. No chips, cracks or other damage was noticed.

Antique Old Paris porcelain humorous humidor with high relief monkeys in bisque
A museum quality cigar box with rare two different scenes of monkeys as corresponds to the early 19th century. En epoch full of passion for the natural sciences and the discovery of new lands, new flora and fauna in previous years. The unexpected contrast between the fuchsia glazed porcelain and the white bisque, as well as the asymmetric design of the piece, makes one wonder who was the artist that created this humidor. Unfortunately, it's not signed, except for the usual incisions for Old Paris and Sevres in the underside. This piece, although in very good condition, shows very old restaurations, somewhat unnoticeable, that do not take away from its beauty and rarity. But I can't say with 100% certainty whether it is a late 18th century Derby-Chelsea piece or an excellent copy from the mid to late 1800s(possibly French by Edme Samson) I think only an expert in early Derby porcelain would be able to say for sure. The quality is there though. All I can say for sure about the date is that it at least dates back to the 1800s and possibly as early as the late 1700s. It is beautifully hand painted with 4 different birds and roses. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures. SIZE: T he tray is just over 9.75 inches long. And just over 4.75 inches wide. This particular box was created by Edme Samson of Paris in the late 19th century early 20th century. It measures 3-1/2 inches by 2-1/4 inches and stands almost 2 inches tall. The lid features polychrome enamels of the couple in bed with a flowered bedcover. Underneath is a vignette of flowers. In the interior of the box are two insects and the Chantilly horn mark. What is Old Paris Porcelain? Old Paris Porcelain or as the French say Vieux Paris Porcelain refers not to a single manufacturer but to more than thirty porcelain sources based within the City of Paris between the mid 1700's until around 1870 the end of the Second Empire. The term was not actually used until the latter part of that period. The various Paris artisans mostly situated in the northeast side of Paris honed their skills in a hurry or went out of business. At the outset they had to compete with ... moreKing Louis XV's own Royal Manufactory at Sevres just 18 miles to the southwest of the city. To minimize competition the king even enacted laws that severely restricted the activities of other porcelain manufacturers. But as the importance of porcelain became clearer as to its positive impact on the French economy. Old Paris porcelain enjoyed more latitude in its operations. In fact. Old Paris manufacturers also benefited not only from intense competition from one another, but in some cases, were creatively and financially nimbler than even the Royal manufactory at Sèvres. Many Old Paris porcelain artisans had their own patrons from the French nobility. They catered more quickly to changing styles and customs. By the turn of the nineteenth century nearly all Old Paris porcelain was the hard-paste variety thanks to the earlier discovery of kaolin near Limoges. This important Old Paris porcelain piece is good example of the high level of craftsmanship achieved by the French porcelain industry during the 19th century. The modelling in bisque of the sultan that serves as finial is simply magnificent. From the movement of his clothes to the majestic mien. The 3-dimensional effect of the sultan figure overflowing the mouth of the ewer/urn is stunning. Under the figure, the glazed body with gilded garlands and high relief leaves and fruit complement the piece, and makes one wonder: Sculpture or domestic ware? Although the piece is in good condition generally speaking. There are some problem areas that must be mentioned. Vintage Miniature Hand Painted Limoges Porcelain Box & Bonus Paris Pin Dish
Welcome! Presenting a vintage(most likely 1980s. It's from the estate of a family member who brought it back from a trip to France) miniature hand painted Limoges porcelain box in a deep teal blue, a pink rose on top and black details. It has four little"feet" and tThe lid is hinged and the lid and rim binding is black metal with a tiny front closure in shape of a lock with a heart in it. This would be a little keepsake box for a small item. It measures about about 1 15/16 inches wide(almost 2 inches) at the widest point, which is at the binding, about 1 inch high at the slightly domed lid and about 1 1/4 inches front to back at the binding. The interior is white porcelain with a handpainted black leaf at the bottom and a handpainted pink leaf at the underside of the lid. The bottom is signed"Limoges France Peint Main P.V. ... moreThere is some old dust in the binding and this box could use a gentle cleaning, but overall it is in very good condition with the hinge intact. This listing is for the Limoges box. But as a bonus, it will come with a little Porcelaine de Paris pin dish measuring about 2 3/4 inches by 2 7/8 inches by 5/8 inch deep. It is hand painted or decorated with a lovely rose design in a shade of pink similar to the rose on the Limoges box. The box is approx. 6.5" long by approx. 3.5" wide by approx. 1.25"tall. It is in good condition, there are no cracks or chips, the gold bronze metal mounts has some darkening to the gold. Paris Vieux Porcelain Veuve Perrin Achille Bloch ? Bird Leaf Dish Bowl Dresser
This piece is unmarked so I am unsure of the age or maker. Looks similar to Paris or Vieux Porcelain. Veuve Perrin or Achille Bloch. I am not sure what it even is, could be a dresser trinket holder, sweetmeats dish or gravy sauce bowl on a stand with four small ball feet. Very colorful and pretty with leaves and berries and a bird with a berry in it's beak. Good condition with gold and paint loss and pitting. See photo's 8 and 9(both side edges of the gold leaf) which I believe are imperfections that I do not believe are breaks/cracks but happened during the making of this piece but I could be wrong. The last photo is a chip that has been repainted. I also believe the bottom was solid at one time as it does not make sense to have one side open and the other side solid/closed, see photo 7. Measures 4 1/2 inches tall x 5 inches long.

This is a gorgeous piece of antique Paris porcelain c1880. I have owned it for years and had it displayed proudly with my miniature portraits. The compote is beautifully decorated in pink with gold trim. The base has a gorgeous hand painted miniature portrait of a girl or young woman. the detail is amazing. The portrait is signed"J.P. The back of the base has the family's crest composed of a crown with lion holding a branch. along with the motto"Semper Virens" which means"Always Flourishing" or"Always Green" The inside of the bowl is decorated with the initial"G" in gold. The compote measures 9 1/2" in diameter and 6 1/2" tall. It is in perfect condition with no chips cracks or restorations. There is minimal wear to the gold trim. Antique Old Paris Porcelain Portrait Wall Plate Charger - HP French Woman
This listing is for a gorgeous Old Paris porcelain French wall plate/ charger from the 19th Century. This large plate measures 11 7/8" inches in diameter by almost 2" inches in height. And features a lovely portrait of a young woman surrounded by a reticulated floral border. The rim has gold gilding decorating the molded flowers, and besides the average gold loss along the outer rim of the plate, the gold is in excellent condition. The portrait is exceptionally crafted, and looks like a mixture of hand painting as well as transfer. I tried to include a number of good quality close up pictures, as I see many brushstrokes and hand painted accents, but not the usual dots and issues I see with most transfer images. There is no signature or mark on the plate, but I recently acquired this from an antique auction where it was sold as Old ... moreParis porcelain. The previous owner had an outstanding collection of French porcelain that I was lucky enough to have acquired! It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or damage. This was made sometimes in the late 19th to early 20th C. by Samson of Paris a French firm specializing in the reproduction of collectible wares of many countries and periods, was founded in Paris in the early nineteenth century. Chelsea, Meissen, Sevres and Chinese Export porcelain are some of the wares that have been reproduced by the company. Box has a faux Chinese chop mark that was used by the company as well as a"Limoge" mark in gold. It is hand painted in raised relief enamels in the Lowestoft Chinese export style. old paris porcelain CHERUB STATUE So Charming Serves? 19th/20thC White & Gold!!!
The dealer who sold me this porcelain cherub holding a sheeve of wheat told me that it was Paris Porcelain. Definately porcelain. It's signed on the bottom with two crossed arrows. My mother said that this means it's serves, but I so think that Serves is with crossed swords. Whomever made this vintage/antique cherub knew how to make fine porcelain it's really a super high end item. There are minor chips on one piece of wheat and one leaf that I only felt and could not see. It measures a rather large and nice 9"tall x 3"wide. Rare 19th c Old Paris Porcelain Veilleuse - French Marquise & Dog Teapot Warmer
Description This listing is for an amazing Old Paris porcelain figural Veilleuse of a French Marquise and her dog. This is a very rare collector's item that dates to circa 1840 France. And features two separate pieces(teapot/ Godet and warming base) It measures 13 1/8" inches tall(total) with the square base measuring 6 1/4" inches x 6 1/4" inches. This Veilleuse figure is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. It does have some gold loss that is consistent with age, as well as a few slight chips to the rose in her left hand(also normal for any fragile item from the 19th Century) Her polychrome designs are clean and bright, and the entire piece shows no signs of repair or damage. The base is smoothed on one edge, but this looks like it could have been done during its making and does not appear as damage. The base ... morehas an incised letter that looks to be the letter C. A similar Veilleuse is featured in Harold Newman's book Veilleuses. A Collector's Guide on page 135. The Veilleuse porcelain ware was used during the 19th century to heat liquids beside the bed for those whom were bed ridden. This rare treasured example is described as a Marquise with her dog. But she even bears a resemblance to Marie Antoinette. This is truly a superb Old Paris porcelain collectors piece and Veilleuse to add to any collection! Antique French Old Paris Porcelain Campana Urn Vase 19th Century
Up for auction is a beautiful antique French Old Paris Porcelain Campana Urn or Vase. This 19th century urn has a hand painted scene with gold gilt and masque handle terminals. It is in very good vintage condition. There are places where the gold has worn. And in pictures 9 and 11 little drops of gold have come off the decoration. The white top edge has some flea bites and one little chip as seen in picture 10. The rim is a little uneven, but, of course, this was done in the making of the urn. The screw needs to be tightened, but I will leave that to the new owner. There is what I believe to be crazing on the inside as shown in picture 12. It measures approximately 10 1/2" tall by 8" wide. LOVELY Pair Christian Fischer Porcelain Vases Old Paris Style Early 19th Century
FEATURING A LOVELY PAIR OF CHRISTIAN FISCHER PORCELAIN VASES EARLY 19th CENTURY. Produced in Pirkenhammer Porcelain Factory in Bohemia which is now the Czech Republic. Christian Fischer became the proprietor in 1818 and used his initials as a mark. Both vases are marked CF with 737.1. As well as an incised oblong J. Gorgeous ornate detailing with beautifully applied cut flowers and hand painted leaf design. Much gold gilding still intact throughout, but of course some fading due to the age of the pieces. Two leaves, one petal, and one top edge have chips-as displayed in photos. Also, there are a few small dark spots on the upper backside of one vase which probably occurred during the firing process-very minor and so easily overlooked. Clock has an 8 day time and strike movement. Movement is marked"A L 627" Case has so many curls& scrolls. Not a straight line on it anywhere. Dial is porcelain and bezel has a beveled glass. On the top of the case is a fitted velvet covered wood panel. Although it is not marked anywhere. This sweet little pan has three purple/lavender flowers and green leaves around the outside. The rim is painted a bright gold and has a little spout and the handle has a little hole at the end. On the inside bottom of the pan are the intials"L R" fancily done in gold. The bottom of the pan on the outside has"Lasserre Restaurant Paris 17. Av. F.B. Roosevelt" It measures approx. 1 1/8" in diameter(The saucepan itself) It measures 3/4" tall, the handle measuring 1 1/8" Lasserre’s rich history is definitely a part of the dining experience: notables like Audrey Hepburn.
