Large Cardinal Character/Toby Jug(Pitcher) about 6-1/4" high and 8" wide from spout to handle. Has the flow rim similar to Royal Doulton jugs. It has a paper label on the bottom- Kasuga Ware Japan Handcrafted. It is in good condition without cracks or breaks. Only has two rough spots along the bottom edge. Plate- 8" in diameter. Marked Hal-sey Fifth Japan, no cracks or breaks, just age related crazing. It is in very nice vintage condition. Salt& Pepper Shakers- 2-1/2" high and 2" wide. Marked Hal-seyfifyhave Japan, they are in good condition with only roughness around the bottom edges. Still have their cork stoppers in bottom. 6) Small Character/Toby Jugs about 3-1/2" high and 3" wide. Four ... moreof them are unmarked or missing their label. This is a great vintage combination. This did not come as one set when I got it though. The large toby jug and the 6 smaller ones came together but the plate and salt& pepper shakers were purchased individually years later. They do seem to match nicely and look like a set though. The front of the first jug has"Mountain Dew Boothbay Railway Museum Boothbay Maine" written in 22 K gold. It has its original cork which still goes in and comes out easily(see picture 5) The bottom is marked in gold: Hand Crafted 22 K Gold Made in U.S.A. Although it shows a bit of age. It has its original paper price label from the Boothbay Railway Museum(you can make out the last number in the price which is a 9) Also handwritten on the bottom is.49(cents) and the date 8-30-68(see next to last picture) The ... morefront of the second jug has"Pure Corn Virginia" It does not have a cork. The bottom is marked in gold: Made in U.S.A. Hand Decorated- 22 K Gold. The jugs stand about 3 inches tall without the cork(about 3 1/4 inches tall with the cork) They are just under 2 3/4 inches from handle edge to side and are about 2 1/2 inches wide. I know pictures can be deceiving. So the last picture is an attempt to show their size next to a Mt Dew can. The little jugs are in great condition(according to the date on the bottom- the Maine will be 45 years old in August) The gold lettering is intact and looks much better than the photos- what may look like fading or missing gold is just reflections. There are no chips. Flea bites, cracks, repairs, etc. The Maine jug has a couple of raised pottery dots and a tiny bit of extra gold paint just to the right of the handle(can be seen on the left side of picture 3) The pictures do enlarge so hopefully you can judge their condition.
