Geminiano COZZI Antique Venetian Porcelain Figurine Courtier and Greyhound Dog Description: A 14 1/2" figurine made by Geminiano Cozzi. Venice(1764-1812) It has the Cozzi anchor mark on the back of the base in gold. It depicts a courtier in a flamboyant pink cape, black tricorn hat with a large red plume, black boots decorated with flowers, yellow flowered frock coat and pink flowered pants- quite the dandy! He carries a basket of flowers and is accompanied by his faithful dog- a greyhound/ piccolo levriere, I believe. A stunning piece for display. Condition: This figurine needs restoration. I see no damage to the head or face or hat. Left arm and hand appear to be undamaged. The dog seems to be in one piece. There are over 30 applied flowers on and around the base and nearly all are intact. There is no paint missing from the hat- the ... morewhite marks you see are glare from the lighting. There are several old repairs. And they were not, I think, done professionally. The entire body may have been off the base at one time, I am not sure. Many little applied green leaves are broken. This is an adorable Victorian Courting Couple boy& girl figurine made in Italy. They are seated and he is looking down at her hand. It looks like she is about to hand him a flower. Approximately 5 inches tall to top of tree branch and 6 inches wide at widest point. Stamped on the side of the base with blue Capodimonte Crown and N mark. In great condition but there could be chips to the lace on the bottom of her skirt and some of the flowers in her basket are chipped or possibly missing. I have tried to show this in my pics. Beautiful Vintage Murano Glass Figurine of Bird on the glass base. Sky Blue with heavy golden peppering. Foil like gold flakes Made in Italy label attached on the bottom of the base. Label appears very old. Perfect like new condition. The second World War brought glass production to a halt in Italy. But the following years were the golden age of Murano glass. Archimede Seguso opened his own furnace after the war and introduced gold foil to his animal designs. He was not the first to do this, but his company became known for the heavy golden peppering. This figurine could be made by Archimede Seguso. I have not confirmed that and I did not find any names or marking on the figurine except for the label: Made in Italy. Vtg Italian Pieta The Crucified Christ Jesus & Mary Lamentation Figurine Color
I have up for auction a figurine of Mary holding our crucified Jesus. On the front of the base is imprinted Pieta. The bottom is stickered- made in Italy. Someone has written on the bottom 3 May 1986 Leamington(maybe Italian for Lamentation) One. I believe the figurine to be made out of chalkware or something along those lines. It measures 5" high. The base measures 4 1/4 by 2 1/2 inches. There is a chip on the back of Jesus' head and on the back towards the bottom. See the 4th picture. There are a couple of surface chips on the base rim, see the last picture.
