This tiny piece of Chinoiserie, with elements of gothic and classical design, depicts a Queen escorted by a blackamoor holding a parasol and 2 children holding her train. Doris Lechler, in her book‘English Toy China’ attributes the pattern to Spode. According to the Transferware Collectors Club and others, it would have been made by Minton. It dates to 1820-1830. Like all known pieces in this pattern, this diminutive plate is unmarked. The quality of the form and detailing of the image is far superior to what would be expected on this diminutive sized piece. The plate is in great condition. With no cracks, chips, or repairs. Edge wear, consistent with age and prior use. You are bidding on 1 Staffordshire Transferware Plate: View of Trenton Falls. It is Blue in Color. Color is vivid and rich. Measures approximately 7 5/8" across. Enoch Woods shell border. Large Eagle imprint on reverse. Enoch Woods and Sons imprint on the reverse. There is a minor small nick in the glaze on the rim(see close-up images) No repairs and no cracks. There are light surface scratches on the serving surface from previous use and light crazing in the porcelain glaze. There are several mold imperfections as you would normally see in transferware of this age. Gorgeous Sapphire Blue Louisville Double Eagle Historical Flask
We are very excited to offer this beautiful historical flask for sale. It was likely blown at the Kentucky Glass Works in Louisville. Kentucky around 1850. The color is a bright medium to light sapphire blue, not quite as deep as the first two photos but closer to the third picture of the top of the flask. It has a perfectly sheared mouth and open pontil scar. It is known as GII-24 in the McKearin flask numbering system. The impression in this flask is one of the best I've ever seen. The clarity of the glass is awesome. And there are nice swirled bubbles in the neck. However, there is a 1/2 inch"in making" cooling type fissure along one of the corrugated sides. It was definitely done in the manufacturing process, and partially passes through a large bubble and the mold seam(see close-up photos) It is important to note that an ... moreundamaged example just sold in Norm Heckler's auction for over $22.300 with buyer's premium included. Here is a great opportunity to buy a similar flask that displays perfectly from either side, due to the fact that the fissure is along the side mold. Today. I am offering a lovely dark blue historical plate made in Staffordshire. England by the well-respected pottery of Wedgwood. The subject of this particular plate is poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's Early Home in Portland. Maine. Longfellow's home is featured on the front of the plate. Which shows the trolley lines that once ran through Portland. There is a small inset portrait of Longfellow himself along with a border of leaves and flowers. On the back is an attribution to General Peleg Wadsworth, Longfellow's grandfather. Who built the house in 1785-86. There is also a short verse by Longfellow about the house(view last picture) and the fact that the plate was made for(and inevitably would be sold by) T.F. Foss and Sons. Portland, Maine. Here is a circa 1840 historical blue transferware platter that has an American view. The Narrows connects the Lower Bay and Upper Bay of New York Harbor. The platter has damage but it is a hard to find pattern. There is a large darkened chip mostly visible from the back. And some smaller chips and edge flecks. Also some crazing, some staining, utensil marks, and hairlines- as is as found. Measures 17 3/8" x 12 5/8" Deep platter, measures over 1 1/2" at the edge. Arctic Scenery Historical Blue Staffordshire Soup Plate Circa 1835 Exploration
Beautiful Historical Blue Stafforshire Soup Plate in the rare Arctic Scenery pattern circa 1835. M ade by Godwin in Staffordshire for the Canadian market to commemorate the explorer Sir Edward William Parry’s Arctic explorations. There are about a dozen different scenes in the series and the plates also came in grey. Green, pink and brown. The central design is taken from two illustrations from a Journal of a Voyage for the Discovery of a Northwest Passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific Performed in the years 1819-20 in His Majesty's Ships Hecla and Griper. London John Murray 1821-24. Plate measures 10.75" in diameter and stands about 1.75" high. Excellent condition on the obverse. Note there is a small fleabite to the foot on the reverse- see photo 6- and a very tight hairline visible on the reverse. Measuring about 1.5" ... morelong. See photo 7. Otherwise, no issues.

Antique SPODE Blue Staffordshire Bowl, Historical ROME / TIBER, c.1811
Offering this early Spode blue transferware bowl in the Rome/ Tiber pattern. Spode first introduced this pattern around 1811 and the manufacturer markings on this piece date to that time period. The bowl measures 9 3/4" in diameter. Condition is excellent. With no chips or cracks. There is some fine crazing that is very difficult to see. Some minor scratching on the back and only a couple superficial scratches on the front. This bowl has great color and detail and displays beautifully. England during the mid 1800s. The plate features an American eagle perched on top of a shield with the banner E Pluribus Unum underneath. The border displays various geometric designs. And the back is impressed with the Hammersley name, an English registration mark and the word Gem in a banner held by an eagle. Overall the plate measures approximately 8 3/4" in diameter. Displays beautifully but the lid is a marriage and there are a few colored in chips to the spout. The lid fits pretty well in place but not perfectly; it is an Enoch Wood seashell teapot lid. Probably from a Wadsworth Tower teapot, it has a steam hole. In the scenes of Bank Savannah, Exchange Charleston and Insane Hospital Boston. Both the undertray and tureen measure approximately 8-1/2" long with the covered tureen standing just under 7" tall to the top of the ring finial and approximately 7-1/2" tall sitting on the undertray. This very rare American scene sauce tureen with cover and undertray is a WONDERFUL find and in incredibly beautiful estate condition. I am offering a lovely dark blue historical plate made in Staffordshire. England by the well-respected pottery of Wedgwood. The subject of this particular plate is poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's Early Home in Portland. Maine. Longfellow's home is featured on the front of the plate. Which shows the trolley lines that once ran through Portland. There is a small inset portrait of Longfellow himself along with a border of leaves and flowers. On the back is an attribution to General Peleg Wadsworth, Longfellow's grandfather. Who built the house in 1785-86. There is also a short verse by Longfellow about the house(view last picture) and the fact that the plate ... morewas made for(and inevitably would be sold by) T.F. Foss and Sons. Portland, Maine. The plate measures 9.25 inches across Condition: Excellent condition for age with no breaks. No chips, no repairs. only a couple light utensil marks(you need to hold it up to the light and carefully scrutinize) and some gentle age-related crazing(which I ONLY noticed on the back- typical for a piece over 100 years old! The design of this Plate is very attractive and features an Oriental design in the center of the Plate. The scalloped border design features a floral border.
