This beautiful plate measures 9 3/4 inches across. Featured is an early scene of Philadelphia as it looked back in the mid to late 1600's. Marked on the back"Penn Treaty Tree Philadelphia. Pa. along with the retailer mark for"Wright Tyndale& Van Roden Philadelphia" There is also an impressed mark"Pellatt" over"Rd. 212541" which corresponds to the year 1893. Historical blue Staffordshire 10" plate by A. Stevenson. Staffordshire. The impressed mark of Stevenson potteries on the back of the plate indicates a manufacture date of 1813-1830. The impressed mark is a crown encircled by the words Warranted Staffordshire Stevenson. The scene depicts a'hall' or castle in the background, a gentleman tending two sheep in the foreground and a winding pathway to the building. It is a beautiful dark blue color with an ornate floral order. The plate is in good condition having no chips, cracks, scratches or crazing. It does have several spots on the rim of roughness where the glaze has warn or bumped off, one mark is like a fine sliver. It would make a lovely addition to any collection. Lovely Antique Staffordshire Historical Blue Pearlware Waste Bowl Birds Flowers
This auction is for a Rare and Unusual Historical Blue Pearlware Waste Bowl with a Fantastic Bird and Floral motif. The bowl features two birds perched on branches amid over sized flowers. To me. The birds look like kingfishers. The inside lip is rimmed with a wide Floral and Victorian Scroll border and there is a medallion at the inside bottom. The piece is not marked. I have been unable in my research to find another example of this pattern anywhere online. But it clearly dates to the early to mid 1800s and was produced by one of the potteries that operated in the Staffordshire region of England in that era. The bowl measures 5 5/8 inches across and 3 inches tall. The bowl has four hairlines spaced around the rim and descending between a quarter and three-quarters way to the bottom. There is dark toning/discoloration throughout the bowl ... moreas well. Please review all the photos. I tried to capture all the condition issues. Even with those issues. This muffineer or sugar shaker is a very rare form. And is sure to complement your collection of historical blue Staffordshire. Both pieces have pierced borders. The bowl features 2 different scenes- the scene"Doctor Syntax and the Gypseys" is shown twice going all the way around the outside of the bowl. Advertisement for a Wife" is on the inside. The tray is decorated with the"Doctor Syntax sells Grizzle" scene as indicated by the stamped mark on the bottom. If you were ever able to find this set again. I doubt it would be in as nice condition as this one. P lease excuse the reflections in the pictures. SIZE: The tray/stand is approximately 12 inches by 9.75 inches. The bowl measures about 11 inches across by 5.75 inches high. CONDITION: The glaze on both pieces is ... moreshiny and bright with very few scratches. The bowl has one flea bite underneath the foot and shows some kiln shrinkage cracks around and under the foot. I just want to mention that the one under the foot is on the bottom only- you cannot see it on the inside of the bowl. There are two areas on the top of the foot with very shallow glaze rubbing. The tray has some very small rubs to the glaze around the edges and the bottom side has some scratches from use. Both pieces have stilt marks. 19th Century - Landing of General La Fayette Historical Blue Staffordshire Plate
This dark blue historical Staffordshire plate by Clew's is titled"LANDING OF GEN LAFAYETTE At Castle Garden New York 16th August 1824" It has a central image of a group of ships and small boats outside the fort. The lower portion shows a six cannon salute to General Lafayette as he visits on his return tour of America. A floral border surrounds the central image. Reverse is imprinted with a crown surrounded by“CLEWS Warranted Staffordshire. This plate is excellent condition. And measures 0.75" high by 10 1/4" in diameter and dates circa 1825. Hello. Up for bids today is a Antique circa 1820s Dark Blue English Historical Staffordshire Transferware Sugar Bowl or Box with Lid with NO RESERVE! The lid is more then likely a teapot lid because of the holes in it. The sugar has a woman on one side that is fishing in a bonnet and dress and the other side there are 2 cows in front of a large house. The sides have what I think are lion head door knockers that stick out. I do not know the pattern or view name or the maker and the only mark is a indented triangle on the bottom. The borders are flowers. The sugar is apx: 5 1/2" across the top and 6" tall to the top of the finial.The covered sugar bowl is in good estate condition with normal age/use marks. The lid has light scratches on the top area and the finial way have been reglued at one time. The rim has small chips and scratches, ... morethe bottom inside has light chips and areas the transfer has worn off on the outside and inside rim and over ran transfer marks. The bowl itself has over glazed and under glazed flew bite small dots and marks to the inside and to the top rim as well as light scratches, there are also a couple pin size indent marks along the top, there are 3 tiny chips along the outside rim that goes above the scenes, there are 3 small indents along the scenes, a hairline under one of the lion head door knockers and that door knocker did not get as much blue transfer as the other one, so it is about 3/4 white with some blue, the bottom has some sit down light chips along the rim, tape residue, and a chip in the triangle, as pictured. Historical Staffordshire Blue Holliday Street Theatre Baltimore Cup Plate 1825
Up for auction we have this very rare Historical Staffordshire cup plate that depicts the Holliday Street Theatre Baltimore. This plate looks great and displays fine. However there is a very tight hairline that measures just three quarters of an inch. The cup plate measures 3 5/8" in diameter and it dates circa 1825.
