Similar to a tulip flower with diamond shapes at top, and triangle shapes at bottom. Shows a piece chipped off and re-glued back. NOT a professional repair. A thin hairline also ... moreextends from this original break. Also there is a small ding on the outer rim. This too also created a very thin tight hairline running down the wall to the triangle top of the reticulation. As well as a small chip on the inner side. This hairline is more felt than seen. Amazing the reticulations are fine and all intact. Handles are also fine. LOW opening bid for its condition. With no further hidden reserve. c.1830 Transferware Plate by Adams. Historical Blue c.1830 HISTORICAL BLUE ADAMS RIVER SCENE TRANSFERWARE PLATE Here is a fine old dark blue transfer plate by Adams with a serene river scene. There is a large mill next to a river and a wonderful floral border decoration made even more special by its asymmetric nature. The mark on the back clearly says Adams Warranted Staffordshire. So there is no doubt as to the maker. This plate dates to the 1830's. The plate is 9 inches in diameter. There are a couple of very old minor flecks on the bottom rim but nothing on the front to mar the plate's beauty. It is in remarkably good condition. The incredibly dark, rich blue sets this plate apart from most Staffordshire plates of the period. This piece of transferware is about 180 years old. Celebrating the gold rush to Colorado in 1859. These popular Civil War era flasks were made throughout the 1860's and possibly into the early 1870's. These are very nice, blue examples with the typical applied"champagne" style banded finish common on flasks made at various Pittsburgh, PA. glasshouses- where the majority of Pike's Peak flasks were made. I will try my best to describe each one but, Please view all photos as they are part of the description. 1. The first bottle(the smallest) features a hobo on the front with the wording"FOR PIKES PEAK" on the back it features an eagle with his wings spread open with the wording"CEREDO" ... morethis bottle is light blue and features bubbles in the glass. It measures approx. 7 1/2" tall. 4" wide and 2" deep. The bottom is flat with the center caving inward. This bottle is in very nice condition. 2. The second bottle also features a hobo on the front with the wording"FOR PIKES PEAK" and on the back it also has an eagle with his wings spread open it DOES NOT feature any wording on the back. This bottle is very unique as it caves inward on the front. It also has bubbles in the glass from when it was blown. The bottom of this bottle caves inward in the middle but along the edges it bubbles outward. I believe this was not meant to be like this and must be an imperfection from when it was blown as it wobbles when it sits up. This bottle is darker in color and features patina. It measures 9" tall by 5" wide and approx. 2 1/2" deep. It also features imperfections along the lip as it is not straight and dips down in areas. 3. The 3rd bottle is a very dark blue. This historical military flow blue pitcher depicts on one side. You will find, Sir Henry Havelock 1795-1857. Sir Henry Havelock was a British soldier who eventually was promoted to General Havelock. Up for bids today is a Antique circa 1809-1829 Dark Blue Transferware Historical Staffordshire Sauce Tureen with Lid made by Andrew Stevenson in the Stevenson Potteries of Cobridge.Staffordshire England with a view of Redgrave Hall or Dustin Hall with NO RESERVE! The tureen is apx: 9' long from handle to handle and 6' tall to top of lid. The tureen is in good to fair estate condition with normal age/use marks, the lid is not flush with the tureen, the lid has some light scratches to the transfer, 1 small chipalong the rim and the botton has about 8 small chips to the inside rim and scratches as well and crackling. The plate features City Hotel in New York with various workers in the foreground. The border displays oak leaves and acorns on a stippled ground and the back is marked with the name of the scene. The edge of the plate is slightly scalloped and o verall the plate measures approximately 8 3/4" in diameter. Item Condition: The overall condition of the plate is very good to excellent. It is extremely clean with no chips or cracks. But it does have a small 5/8" chip repair to the front of the rim that was professionally done and looks good. Historical Staffordshire Blue & White Pedestal Covered Bowl,Chariot Scene Plus
This sale is for a lovely Historical Staffordshire Blue and White Transferware Pedestal Base Covered Serving Bowl. The Bowl has the manufacturer's name and the pattern's name. But I have been unable to make them out. I love the interesting pattern on these pieces. The pattern features what looks like chariots with cherubs on the border of the Bowl and on the cover. The cherub is getting ready to shot an arrow. The Bowl itself has a center design of a chariot with a lady in it accompanied by a soldier. They are surrounded by a building and it appear to be a garden scene. The Bowl has built-in handles and pedestal base. The cover itself has an artichoke finial. This sale is for a Historical Staffordshire Blue and White Transfer Ware Plate that is 10" in diameter and is Circa 1800's. The Plate which is by Podmore& Walker is in the Ivanhoe Pattern and features a small family in a garden setting. There are no chips. Cracks or hairlines. There is a very old repair which is primarily on the back of the Plate, with just a trace of it on the edge of the border. The repair is now discolored. Historical Blue Creamer Excellent Condition
Presented for Auction: Historical Blue Creamer This item is in excellent condition for it's age. Dating back to the first half of the 19th century. This creamer is 5 3/4" high to the top of the handle and 5 3/4" long from the edge of the spout to the back of the handle. This historical blue creamer is in a flower pattern with an impressed number 6 marking on the bottom as well as a blue number 23. There are no cracks, chips, flee bites or hairlines on this piece.
