This Navajo vase has been signed and dated(see pictures) It stands about 5 inches tall and about 4-1/2 inches wide at the widest point. The opening is about 2-1/2 inches across. A PAIR OF OLD HAND PAINTED FISHING LURES
This pair of lures are a mystery to me. They look to be hand made and painted. The larger of the two is approx. 4 1/2 in. and the smaller is 3 1/2 in. The screw eye hook and line hangers on the larger is of brass and is robust in size. The smaller also appears to be brass. CRANE or LOON bird - Inside Hand Painted Crystal Glass Snuff Bottle
Up for auction is a beautiful inside hand painted Chinese crystal glass snuff bottle. Yes a bottle inside a bottle with the inside bottle being hand painted on the inside of the bottle then sealed in a crystal glass bottle. Painted between January 2000 and December 2002. Measuring 3 1/4 inches tall and seal signed by the master artist. Complete with a hand carved spoon attached to the inside removable semi-precious stone top of the bottle. The bottle comes from my Uncles private estate collection. Inside painted or sometimes called reverse painted bottles are beautiful masterpieces that are painstakingly done inside the bottle through the small opening at the top of the bottle. The artist takes a fine sliver of bamboo. Used as a paint brush, bends one end and applies the color of paint needed at that time. They then insert the bamboo sliver ... moreinto the top of the bottle and paint on the glass inside the bottle. Hours and sometimes days go into a single painting. One mistake and the bottle is destroyed. The artwork is incredible to say the least.
