Perfect for a Floral or Foliage Display! CLASSIFICATION: Blue and White Porcelain Vase/Jar. ATTRIBUTION: Ancient China. Qing Dynasty, 19th Century. SIZE/MEASUREMENTS: Height: 218 millimeters(8 3/4 inches) Diameter: 215 millimeters(8 2/3 inches) at belly; 86 millimeters(3 1/2 inches) at top lip; 165 millimeters(5 2/3 inches) at base. CONDITION: Exceptionally good. Almost perfectly preserved. A little wear consistent with any household item which is over one hundred(perhaps close to two hundred) years in age. The normal blemishes common to hand produced porcelain(warts and dimples, zits and pits) Not flawless, but certainly in an excellent state of preservation– no chips of any significance(even minor) no cracks or crazing. No repairs, entirely original. DETAIL: A splendidly preserved very large traditional blue and white porcelain vase so wonderfully characteristic of late Ming/early Qing Dynasty artwork. The glaze is entirely intact. Vibrant cobalt blue, and the condition of the vase is almost perfect. There are of course a few minor scuffs, marks, dings, etc. all virtually undetectable. This is as good as one can reasonably expect of a vase somewhere between one hundred and two hundred years old. While the vase might not be absolutely perfect, it is about as close to perfect as you will ordinarily find of an authentic porcelain jar like this, and there are no repairs. Of course realistically one would expect some blemishes over a century after it was originally produced, so there are no surprises here except that there are so few blemishes. There are as well a few production blemishes(warts. Dimples, zits and pits) Again really not noticeable, and quite typical of hand-crafted porcelain of the late Ming/early Qing Dynasties. No cracks, no repairs, no stains, and not really any shelf wear there are some inclusions in the glass here and there. there are a couple of little dimples on the inner rim– but these appear to be from the manufacturing process. Not chips from bumps. there were two very fine bands of gilding around the base– which has worn off on 3 sides– but remains on the back– there is no sign of it on the front ... moreor the sides– but it was there at one point. And wore off over the past 100+ years. the hand-painted design is all“raised” from the surface of the glass– the branches and the picture frame more so than the leaves and the picture itself. this vase weighs 3 pounds. So the shipping weight may be between 4 and 5 pounds. i’ll probably use a 18 x 12 x 12 outer shipping carton. But i doubt that i can keep the weight under 4 pounds so for international buyers, this will have to travel via priority mail. And I would think quite rare signed, hand painted porcelain vase made in the art nouveau style at the Ernst Wahliss factory Vienna and dates to between 1900-1910(could be a bit earlier) I would guess. It is depicted as a relatively large ovoid vase with a stunning hand painted image of a beautiful young woman in a flower garden scene attended by a winged putto rendered in the art nouveau/rococco manner of the late 19th. century and signed on the base of the image'WOBISCH' The rim and base are gilt banded with lovely secessionist tracery to both. Its very difficult to do justice to the superior nature of the painting, suffice to say it's very, very finely rendered. The urn shape and the cobalt trimming catch the eye.The background color is a pale pink with dark green additions and the cobalt trim. The cobalt trim has gold highlights. The floral design in two panels is of buds. Berries and leaves on a cream background. There are barely noticable age spots on the back side. Inside is clean except for the very bottom which is dark. Arabia Pottery Finland Vase Small Cream Hand Painted Gold Trim 10cm 1932-1949
This is a vintage Arabia pottery bud vase. made in Finland. It's hand-painted and appears to be porcelain. The vase has a gilt rim. A gilded ring around the"waist" of the vase, and periwinkle blue brush stroke lines around the gilding. The mark on the bottom is in green with a red number 119- probably a model number rather than a decorator. It also says Arabia, Suomi Finlandia Made in Finland. My guess is that this was made for export to the USA or Great Britain. The mark is#21 on Finlandia's own page of identifying marks and they identify it as being used between 1932 and 1949. My guess is that this is more Moderne than Deco and probably dates to 1946-1949. I could be wrong though. VICTORIA" in Altrohlau. Bohemia HAND PAINTED with GOLD outlining on Hand Painted Flowers circa 1891-1918 Importers Lazarus and Rosenfeld Ltd. based in London. With showrooms in NYC, Austraila& South Africa founded in 1883 the Victoria Porzellanfabrik in a suburb of Carlsbad in Altrohlau, Bohemia, Austria. Two years later this factory was sold to Frank Schmidt under whose guidance it became the largest factory in the famed Carlsbad porcelain district. The choice ... moreof location was no accident due to the entire region being in the Ore Mountains which is the home of many Kaolin mines. Kaolin is an essential ingredient for the manufacturing of high quality hard paste porcelain. Production concentrated on fine quality decorative household and hotel porcelain. Marshal Fields Department Store was their major US importer, allowing"Victoria" Schmidt& Co. to employ 975 workers by 1900. The mark used on this piece is from the 1891-1918 time period. The condition of this mantle vase is excellent. We can find no damage. There are no chips. Nicks, cracks, or hairlines. The gold appears to be in excellent shape with only light wear consistent with its age. The gold band that was around the top is amost completely worn off to the point that it looks like it was never there. However, all of the gold outlining on the hand painted decoration appears perfect. As for manufacturing defects, there is a slip separation in the bottom inside the vase. This does not affect functionality or beauty. There is also a minor glaze puddling under the top rim. You can't see this unless you are really looking for it close-up. See the photos to judge for yo

German Alka-Kunst Barvarian vase.It measures 17 1/2 inches in height and 8" in diameter. This piece is entirely hand painted with gold crown on the upper portion of the vase aswell as the rim. Thereare no chips or cracks. I find no indication of repairs. The inside is cleanand white and it appears only to have held artificial flowers. Very majestic inappearance. The ewer has ruffled rim and a snake shaped handle on the side. Ewer's neck and base are gilded and so is the handle.
