Huge German Bisque Figurine, Viking, Lohengrin, Beaded
Large Bisque Figurine of Lohengrin in his Swan Drawn Boat. This piece is about 14" long and 12" high. It has no repairs. Cracks, crazing or scratches. Unfortunately it does have three flaws. The bottom of the swan's bill is gone, pictures 1, 4, 5, and 9) and there is a small chip on the right wing of his helmet. Also, there are some stains on the piece, an orange one in the bottom of the boat and several green ones which may be paint and might have happened at the factory. I do not know if they will come out or not. All of the figurines belonged to my mother-in-law; they have been in my garage since 2002, and some of them will need to be washed. I know nothing about cleaning bisque or I would take care of it. There is no maker's mark. No mold mark and no country of origin. Although for many years we called him the Viking, ... moreI do think that he was created to do homage to Wagner's opera, Lohengrin. Therefore, I am pretty sure he is German. If I am wrong, please let me know, and I will make the correction. This is an extremely detailed piece. There are hundreds of gold and white beads on the base. The waves, the boat, the swan and the knight's pants, cloak, mail top and helmet. I am not going to count them- there may be thousands. The colors in the photographs are, for once, representative of the piece so I am only going to point out details that I found amazing. 1. The shield is painted with a gold swan and decorated with white beads. You have to turn the piece upside down to see this. 2. His cloak has been molded to give the illusion of wind-I think the boat is underway. See photos 10 and 11. 3. The swan was molded to show individual feathers; a pink neck ring and a pink beaded bow on the gold reins have been added for contrast. 4. The base of the piece and the shape of the boat echo the rippling of the waves. 5. The top of his hat is shaped into wings with feathers to echo the feathers on the swan. 6. Up for auction is a vintage(1963) German hand carved wooden figurine. The figurine is a music orchestra director in bow tie and tuxedo with tails. The writing on front is in German and the top word is Director. On the bottom it tells that he was made in 1963 and that there was a repair done in 1977. The carving shows a lot of detail and the repair is done well and not noticeable when displayed. Please see all the pictures. They were also made by Kestner. Dressel, Limbach, etc. All bisque, un-joined, molded hair and painted features. The clothes are molded on and they come in a great variety of positions. Some have other items, animals, toys, flowers, etc. that made them more special. There are also black piano babies, these are had to find. I know very little about piano babies. This is a large Dresden Volkstedt German figurine that has an impressive measurment of 8 inches across. And stand 8 inches tall. Mother reading to children on a full high back old fashion French sette with gold accents. Mother has a hand painted gold skirt with pink Dresden applied lace. The little girl has on a hand painted blue top with pink applied lace and tiny colorful flowers attached to lace. A beautiful blond on golden skates- Schaubach Kunst at their finest! The mark indicates the figurine was produced in East Germany from 1953 to 1962. It stands an impressive 11 1/4" and is 6" across at her hands. Unfortunately those hands have suffered some damage as I have noted in the photos. I'm told they can be repaired but I don't know how. A very large piece, it measures 20 1/2" from end to end. 10" tall and 9 1/2" deep(52cm long. 25.5cm tall, 24.2cm deep) It is in excellent overall condition; there are no chips to the porcelain, no repairs, a tiny bit of lace loss on the mens wrist cuffs, some loss to the horses reins(easily replaced) and there is some color wear on the sleeves of the woman's dress. Antique Stamped German Conta Boehme? Porcelain Bisque Girl Piano Baby Figurine
~ Antique German Piano Baby ~ Marked"Germany" on base with symbol that resembles a shield This is a large antique German bisque piano baby figurine that is from a deceased relative's China cabinet from the New Orleans area. I am not an expert on all the manufacturers of that era. But I do know that the authentic ones are marked or stamped with a symbol, crest or shield. This one has a stamp and also reads"Germany" on the base, while many others listed on eBay do not. So this one is not"probably" the real deal. IT IS. It is in the style of Conta& Boehme( This baby girl has golden tresses and is holding a cup. The era of this doll falls between the 1850s-1900. She has great, even pastel coloring and big dark-blue intaglio eyes with defined highlights, rosy cheeks with a hint of dimples, and an open smiling ... moremouth with row of molded upper teeth; blonde hair with pointy curls framing the happy face; bare feet with upturned toes; she wears a yellow embossed dress with gold highlights with blue lace ruffle trim and fuchsia pink bows at the shoulders, and she is holding a lavender-pink-colored cup. She is in overall fair condition. Because she is missing a little part of her index finger on her right hand. There is also a hairline on underside of base that slightly and very faintly extends up the bottom sides of the figurine(about 1/2-1/4 inch, please see photo) The hair line is smooth. I do not have the tip of the finger. PLEASE SEE PICS of underside and edge of base. Neither the hair line or little chip next to it is visible for purposes of display. I do not know enough about antique porcelain to know if the missing finger can be repaired/replaced, but I am guessing that this is possible if someone chooses to do so. There are a few scattered specks of spotty discoloration from age, the only ones really noticeable are on her toes. I am offering an 8.5" Made in Germany young boy figurine. He has a nice face and his clothes look like turn of the century Germany. The word GERMANY is imprinted into the bottom of the foot w/o the hole in it and the other foot has an illegible word in blue ink and it looks like 10(maybe 10 cents) I have owned him for about 25 years and he had some minor crazing when I bought him. This is a beautiful marked Conta& Boehme bisque piano baby dating to the late 1800s. It displays wonderful and measures a large 10 inches high by 11 inches wide. However there are two small chips in her hair and one small chip on the very bottom edge of the base, very minor on display. I think there was something sitting on her lap that is now missing. This beautiful Unter Weiss Bach dresden porcelain lace ballerina is in excellent/mint condition. Both the lace and the ballerina herself are in excellent condition. Her graceful pose and lovely face is a thing of beauty. She is marked on the bottom Unter Weiss Bach. She's 10" wide from tip of her out stretched leg to the end of her left hand. She's 5-1/2" tall to top of her right hand.

It has nice color and is highlighted with gold gilt. It is signed with a raised AC mark on the underside and dates from the mid. to 3rd quarter of the 19th Century and measures approximately 7 + 7/8 inches at it’s highest point. 5 + 1/4 inches in overall width, and 6 + 1/2 inches in overall length. It is in excellent condition with only light staining, minor wear on the gilt, and a few minor firing lines that occurred during the making, as can be seen in the photos. This is a Gorgeous Victorian Lady figurine made in Germany by Franz Witter. She is wearing a pink lace dress accented with porcelain flowers to her dress and hair. Approximately 3 1/4 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches wide. Stamped on bottom of base with blue crown and F mark. The word Germany, and the numbers 2274 inscribed in the porcelain. In excellent condition with just a minor chip to the lace on her right sleeve and possibly 2 flowers missing on her dress. There are leaves but no flower petals so they could have possibly had flowers at one time. The hem of her dress is so small and delicate that I could be missing something there but it looks good to me. She displays beautifully. Gorgeous Boy and Girl Figurines by Conta Boehme of Germany. Circa 1840 They both are dressed in white and pink clothing with floral accents. Conta Boehme shield mark to base and what looks like the numbers 1441 on each and a 0. They are in excellent condition the only thing I can see is a firing crack to the left side of her dress. Quite heavy and great quality pieces. Approximately 6 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches wide at the base. They could also use a good cleaning. I will leave that to their new owner. This is a beautiful high quality vase which has a Piano Baby Boy Doll figurine attached to the front of a basket. He is holding a bouquet of porcelain flowers in his hand and there are also porcelain flowers on each side of the front of the basket. Unmarked except for an inscribed 13 on the base. But from the quality of this piece I believe him to be French or German made. Approximately 5 1/4 inches tall. 3 1/2 inches wide, and 4 3/4 inches deep. In excellent condition the only problem I could find is a small chip to the very edge of the corner on the top right side of the basket. And his right pinky finger is also chipped.
