These impressive and dramatic jars have a rooster or cock motif to the enamel decoration; the handles also have a bird theme. These have a striking color palette of black with shades of red, orange, and yellowish-tan with minor white areas. These have gilded metal areas. Each jar stands about 9 inches tall, with a maximum diameter of approximately 8 3/4 inches. Unpacked, the set weighs just under 8 1/2 pounds. These jars would be a fine addition to a collection of vintage Asian decorative arts. Identification These jars are Chinese. They are vintage. But the exact age is not known. They are unmarked. Condition The jars looks very good overall. With light wear. The underside of one lid has a minor, circular flaw, as made(as shown) The metal areas have minor finish wear and some tarnishing. The handles have small areas of minor darkening; there are some tiny holes in the handles that appear to be as made. Likely as made, there are a few minor pits/ flaws to the blue enamel inside the jars, just below the gilt rims(example shown) this only shows under close inspection when the lids are off. A tiny, scattered pit to the enamel, here or there, is as made. Beneath one jar, the blue enamel has some whitish streaks, as shown. Decorated in blue, c. 1800 description: ... moreOn offer is this highly decorative set of five scaloped Chinese porcelain saucers and five cups. Hand decorated under glaze in deep blue on milky white. The saucers show an ornate design of elaborate flower patterns, alternating landscapes, in ten reserves, surrounding a circular flower pattern, within a continuous border. The backs of the plates are decorated with foliage and marked with a single symbol mark within concentric circles. The tea bowls have a near matching decoration. All five bowls are marked with a Kangxi four character mark. They all have a flower decoration on the inside base and floral and landscape patterns on the outside, divided in reserves. There is some variety in the decoration of the items. As visible on the pictures. However, decoration varieties are often found on groups of Chinese export ware. The condition of the items is very good. Three saucers are perfect or near perfect, having some very small rim chips/frittings. One saucer has a rim chip, associated with a very faint and short rim hairline. One saucer has a rim repair(see picture) The bowls all have small frittings/minor rim chips; four have a faint rim hairline, hardly visible with the naked eye. Please view the pictures, which give a good impression of the wonderful quality and the condition of the objects. This group displays very nicely These antique cups and saucers were made in China in the end of the 18th or beginning of the 19th century. C. 1800. Although this type of tea ware was widely produced during the 18th century QianLong period, this could perhaps be dated slightly later. It is difficult to date these objects exactly, because certain popular patterns were produced during a long period, due to permanent demand from Europe. Rare Vintage Peter Rabbit Child Potty Training Enameled Bowl Chamber Baby Pot
This is a pretty rare item and so sweet! I am not 100% sure but this might be from the 1940's. I has a couple of finish problems as you can see in the pictures but no dings on the sides. One ding in the bottom. and some enamel chipped on the sides, probably from rubbing against the potty chair where it would slide between two wood pieces in the top. Up for auction is this useed but very nice 60 quart Vacuum chamber made by Vollrath dist. Electron Microscopy Sciences. Measures almost 22" tall counting the valves and 17 1/4" wide not counting the handles. Made of very thick and very heavy Machined aluminum. Lid has 1/4" fritted inlet valve, 5/8" outlet with ball valve and guage goes up to 30 In HG. I tested the chamber until it buried the needle on the guage and it held vacuum pefectly with a nice tight seal. Comes with a Solid stainless steel tray with legs which measures 15 1/2" wide and 11" tall. The legs are taped because they wobble even though they are threaded in place but tray has very little movement inside the chamber. Thick padded side handles and heavy plastic lid handle. This a high quality made chamber which has many used in the lab. I will be ... morelisting the very nice vacuum pump that came with this in the very near future. This is a wonderful antique Semi-Vitreous porcelain chamber pot. It is a lovely rusty orange and white around the outside and all white on the inside. It has a scrolling accent design around the center of the outside and a handle with some scroll designs also. The bottom is marked with the green stamp mark of the bird with wings spread and the words. semi-vitreous porcelain" written around it. Underneath that is says, K.T. H. Co. This old pot is in good condition for its age. It does have some crazing on the inside bottom, but not bad. Around the outside, there are some paint scratches and scuffs. The bottom base edge has two 1/2" to 3/4" chips along its edge. But that is it! This piece is very old and looks pretty good for its age. RARE Antique J & M.P Bells Glasgow Pottery 'Marble' Pattern Chamber Pot - Rare
RARE Antique J& M.P Bells Glasgow Pottery'Marble' Pattern Chamber Pot– Rare Pattern. Description For auction is a beautiful and very rare J& M. P. Bells Glasgow pottery'marble' pattern chamber pot. This beautiful chamber pot measures approx. 22cm in diameter. Approx 14.5cm in height and approx.25cm in length from handle to the lip of the chamber pot. The chamber pot is decorated in a grey marble pattern which seem to have been done before glazing and firing. The chamber pot is heavy and solid. There is a small chip at the base of the chamber pot, this is very old chip as it has aged and discoloured. There are some light patches of crazing over the pot, this can be seen on the underside. The J& M.P. Bells pottery in Glasgow suffered from a major fire and as such may moulds. Templates and other equipment was totally ... moredestroyed. Sometime ago researchers dug through the factory remains to try and find what remains they could. This means that may of Bells patterns, styles and pottery was destroyed and lost. After extensive research regarding this'marble' pattern. I have found only one reference towards it. This was in Henry H. Kelly's definitive book'The Glasgow pottery of John and Matthew Perston Bell. This chamber pot was looked at by a Glasgow pottery expert who had never come across this pattern from the Bells factory before. This was backed up by an academic and historian at an Edinburgh museum. They both advised that the only reference to this pattern could be made through Henry H. Kelly's book and that this pattern is a true rarity. Due to my location it could be more than possible that this pattern was a'New' technique or idea that was only made on a few pieces that then went home with employees rather than for sale to the public. This theory was also backed up by expert opinion. This is a beautiful piece of pottery heavy and solid. The mark on this semi-porcelain chamber pot indicates that the pot was manufactured by the Edwin Bennett Pottery Company between 1890 and 1936. The company started in Baltimore. Maryland in 1890 and closed due to the depression in 1936. Pieces of Edwin Bennett pottery can be found in the Smithsonian and the Maryland Historical Society. There is no lid but it has crazing. It has one handle in true chamber pot form. The Latin motto" Bona Fama Est Mellor Zona Aurea" roughly translates as"A good reputation is better than a golden belt"

It is white in color with gold line details. A lot of it showing wear. The pot itself measures 5" tall and about 9" in diameter. There are some natural imperfections inside, a few of which are ... morelightly discolored. There are no chips or cracks that I can see but there is some light crazing. The lid is almost as heavy as the pot. It has light crazing all over as well, with wear of the gold that once was on the edge and the handle. The handle has a nice design. There is a 1" narrow chip on the inside center part of the rim of the lid, and one spot about the same that has not chipped off but it has the cracks present on 3 sides, I would say. It still seems intact, and both are unseen when the lid is on. Those issues do not affect it in any way, as the rest of the lid is fine. The bottom does have a blue mark that I haven't been able to identify, as it is blurry. Overall this is a great estate auction piece with lots of character! It would be great displayed and used for storage in the bathroom for anything from makeup to washcloths to hiding your hairbrush and hair accessories. It would also be a great display in your guest room full of grandma's heirlooms, as that could have been where a chamber pot was kept in the days when used. Scarce lid for chamber pot w/slave & work horses pulling wood drag
This is an antique lid(only) for a chamber/slush pot. There is the letter U& date* inside the lid on outer section. This would mean 1880. Because it is that old. There appears to be a Black man dressed in slave type clothes leading a team of 2 work horses pulling a wooden drag to level the fields. I dont think youll ever find one like this, i have owned it for over 40 years& never found the matcjhing base but it could be put on a plain White bottom. The lid measures aprox. 10" across, the inside has an inner rim that is 7 3/4" wide.The top does domes up somewhat, and the finial is totaly unique, eather a animal or branch? 8 1/2 inches wide 5 1/2 inches high. Handle on pot and lid.pot has no flowers, Cook& Hancock stamp on back, 9 inch lid with handle lid has one chip about 1/2" x 1/2" on edge no chips on pot. One small fracture about 3 inches, but you don't feel any rough edges some grazing( I think that is what its called) as on most old things. some raised design on pot and handles I used it in bathroom for 40 + years for hair pieces etc.
