This is a Porcelain Butter Pat in the"Rosenborg" Pattern. Produced by Kjobenhavns Porcellains Maleri in Denmark, for Holst& Knudsen. Holst& Knudsen imported porcelain to Denmark from 1924 until 1969, which was decorated by the KPM factory in Copenhagen from 1924 to 1934 and from 1935 to 1969 in Lyngly, Denmark. This slightly oval-shaped piece measures 3-1/2" by 2-3/4" The design of Dresden Style Flowers. In shades of pink, lavender, purple, blue and green, appears in the center. The background color is creamy white. There is a very nice gold band covering the small handle and continuing around on top of the scalloped edge of the pat. There are no chips. Cracks, scratches, crazing or discolorations. The colors are bright and unfaded and the gold is shiny and intact. From 1991 to 1999. This is a 19th century English butter pat made by Ridgways. It has the English registration number 72235 and says"Ridgways Royal Semi Porcelain. Buckingham with their quiver of arrows trademark. It features a view of Fredericksborg Slot(or Castle) done by famed Danish artist Kaj Lange who provided designs for Royal Copenhagen/Aluminia from 1919 to 1983. Fredicksborg Castle, formerly a royal retreat in Hillerod for Danish monarchs, is now the Museum of National History. This plaquette features an illustration of the castle viewed from across the castle lake. This is part of the 2010 series issued predominantly in the classic blue and white motif for which Danish faience is noted. This dish was manufactured by the sister factory of Royal Copenhagen: Aluminia. It is marked with what is often referred to as a Danish beehive but actually represents the letter A for Aluminia with the three ... morewavy lines used traditionally used by Royal Copenhagen in the center of the letter A. Vintage Miniature Butter Pat/Trinket Plates Estate Sale Lot 0f 5 EUC
A lot of 5 miniature butterpat/trinket. Decorative plates are for your consideration on this auction. They are all about 3" in diameter and appear to be in EUC. All 5 are pictured in the 1st one. I will try to describe to the best of my ability each plate in the order in which they are pictured. Pics#2-3 is from"Highland" of Scotland, made of fine bone china. Pics#4-5 is from the"Okura" makers of Japan. Pics#6-7 is"Lilien Porzelian" that's the spelling on the back) of Austria. Pics#8-9 is a beautiful gold-trimmed plate w/scalloped edges.there appears to be a little red spot on this plate.it really isn't there! Hard to read on the bottom, it appears to me to have been made in Germany and I can make out either a C.T. or G.T. stamped on the bottom.
