This is a gorgeous cut glass butter pat that looks like American Brilliant. But I am not positive. It is from and excellent estate cut glass collection. The dish measures 3” in diameter and is ½” tall at the highest point. There are some sharp edges from the cutting. But no chips or cracks. At the buyer’s request. 5 Antique Old Butter Pat Dishes Plates White Double Blue Ring Blue Bird Lot #2
Unknown Maker The closest bird I could find out of the hundreds I looked at over the internet was Knowles. Taylor, Knowles. It is not the same but pretty close match. So should blend in with one of their blue bird sets or several other makers sets. They would make nice display peices also. The dish itself has 12 edges and is not round but has 2 round blue painted rings. There were several dish shapes that were similar but I could not narrow this dish down to one of them. I am not sure of the age but I belive these to be old. Blue birds were very popular between the 1880's and late 1920's. I have no idea if these date from then. But the previous owner said she had had them from at least the 70's when she was in the height of her collecting/hoarding. The exterior edge of the pat is heavily embossed with a plume design and then has gold accents applied. There are a total of 9 gold accents on each pat. They measure just 3" across and stand about 1/2" tall. They are in excellent condition with no major damage. John Maddock & Sons Butter Pat Hamilton Pattern True Antique from 1896-1906
A Real Find for the Right Person For your consideration. This delicate Butter Pat Made by John Maddock& Sons in the Hamilton pattern. Butter pats were included in the elegant formal dining services of the 1800's and graced the tables of Royalty. This one. Made of Royal Vitreous. Features the delicate green and white trimmed in gold of the Hamilton pattern. If my research is correct. This butter pat was made in the late eighteen hundreds in England and I found very few examples of this pattern. This little plate measures 3" and is in perfect condition. The seal on the back indicates the time period of production to be between 1896-1906 since the different periods of John Maddock pieces can be dated by the seal on the back. Here are two lovely butter pats for your consideration. The first is a gold Greek key pattern that I believe is Limoges. It is ivory porcelain with the gold key band outlined in red. A delicate pattern inside that, and rimmed in gold. There are minor utensil marks and the slightest of wear to the pattern/gold rim. There is a hairline crack visible on the back. But does not show on the front. It is stamped on the back with the number 63 inside a circle. This pat is free of chips or crazing and measures about three inches across. The second butter pat is white with a scalloped edge. It has a gold center stripe and is rimmed in gold. There is a flea bit on the front edge. Quite a bit of crazing, and minimal wear in the gold. Hello& Welcome! Featured in this auction is a beautiful old Delft Holland Butter Pat(or small dish) with transfer printing in varying intensities of cobalt blue. A rather unusual and quaint scene depicts a young boy smoking a pipe with a young woman who is obviously displeased. Standing staunchly with her elbows out. Off in the distance are several sailing ships in the nearby harbor and a multi-floral motif surrounding the edge. The maker's mark is somewhat indistinguishable, in part due to the previous owner's use of a green felt w/ glue wall hanger, as that is how they had this plate displayed. The diameter is approximately 4 1/4" standing just over 1/2" in height and the condition for its age is quite excellent considering there are no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs, only traces of a hanger on the base.
