Iowa, along the Raccoon River drainage by Darwin Thede in the 1950's-60's. Darwin hunted extensively in Green, Carroll and Dallas Co. mostly along the Raccoon River and many of it's tributaries, he started hunting in the 1950's and hunted for over 20 years finding many nice artifacts. Item Description ~ Antique Judith Basin Unlimited Lewistown Montana souvenir spoon with stagecoach in the bowl and mining gold pan with nuggets top of handle. A packmule and a man swinging a tool like a pickaxe. Also says El Dorado down the front of the handle. Marked on back Sterling silver and P&B. The makers mark for Paye& Baker. Engraved and dated 08(for 1908) on top back of handle. The spoon is 5 3/8ths inches. Bowl is 1 3/4 by 1 1/8ths inches and the spoon is in excellent condition with no damage. This is an old antique wash basin I got at an auction. It is white and measures approximately 14 1/2" in diameter and 5" high. It has some crazing. Mostly in the center and on the bottom, but I do not see any chips or cracks. On the bottom there is an insignia that looks like a crown with a king on one side and a horse on the other. Vintage Ironstone England Wash basin Bowl and Pitcher
Hello there. Here we have a vintage Ironstone England wash basin and pitcher. This is the floral rose bud design and both the basin and pitcher are stamped Ironstone England 1890 on the bottom. The basin measures 15.75 inches across and about 5 inches deep. There is a close up photo of some crazing in the middle of the basin and a separate photo of one small chip on the underside of the basin. The pitcher is 11.5 inches tall and approximately 8.5 inches across at the widest point at the bottom. Besides the small chip on the underside and some slight crazing of the glaze. Up for auction this week we have a beautiful early Mahogany Basin Stand circa 1890. This piece has great form and a very nice aged mellow patina. There is one old repair on one of the legs but it is tight and solid and does not effect the way it stands. There are the usual distress marks that come with a piece this age. But overall it is in excellent condition and a real beauty. I'm not really sure about the age of this piece. It very well may be anywhere from the mid 1800's to around the turn of the century. Late 19th century Sheffield type silver plate basin and ewer
A handsome late 19th century Sheffield type(silver over copper) pitcher and basin. The basin is oval shaped with a wide rim and saucer-like center. The pitcher or ewer is in the classical urn form with scrolled. Foliate handle. Around the neck of the pitcher and at the foot is an egg and dart pattern while the main body of the pitcher bears a florid cartouche beneath the lip in the center of which are three ivy leaves. From this cartouche a spray of cat tails extend out from both sides at the top of the cartouche while from the bottom extends a vine of ivy leaves. Where the handle joins the pitcher is a scrolled, foliate cartouche. The approximate dimensions of the pitcher are 10 inches high by 7 inches wide from tip of handle to tip of spout. The basin has an egg and dart motif along the outer rim and the wide brim of the basin bears a scroll ... moredesign of acanthus leaves and cartouches at the far ends. There are some minor scuffs to the silver and the copper shows through in spots, consistent with the age and use of this piece. The underside of the basin is scuffed revealing the copper undercoat. The approximate dimensions of the basin are 12 and 1/2 inches ling by 9 and 1/2 inches wide by 1 and 1/2 inches deep. This is a very handsome, vintage piece with a lovely classical look and feel.
