MINTON Art Nouveau"Secessionist" WASH BOWL BASIN No. 7 Up for bid is a RARE Mintons LTD. Secessionist Wash Bowl Basin. It has the#7 mark on the bottom. This bowl is Amazing, it is in fantastic condition, it has No chips(to the lip or bottom foot) It has No cracks, it has Not been repaired in any way. It does have some discoloration to the bottom of the inside bowl(where the picture would sit) this discoloration is a light brown crackle from the glaze aging. It is 16 1/2" wide and about 5 1/2" tall. This Minton bowl is gorgeous as a tablecenter piece. Flower vase, or even flipped upside down(were you can see the amazing glaze design and color) used as a pedestal. This bowl is from C. 1910, designed by Léon Victor Solon. 1914 West Germany SAAR BASIN Saargebeit Porcelain Egg Cup
Welcome! This is a wonderful find of a very rare ceramic egg cup made in Saar Basin West Germany. This little egg cup has a fasinating history. The terriority of Saar Basin was also know as Saar or Saargebiet. It was a region of Germany that was occupied and governed by France and the UK till 1935. It has alot of information on the struggle being subject to Hitler and other occupation. It is an interesting read that I would fill up this page with. Egg cup is cream color with blue vase and yellow flowers and leaf like border. It measures 3 3/4" tall. 2 1/4" across the top and about 2" bottom. Inside the bottom in blue print is Made in Saar Basin 1572. This mark is not often found and this egg cup is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks or breaks. A nice old sugar bowl. Indian Tree pattern, by Colclough China, age unknown. There is a small crack from the rim. About 2cms long, which is barely visible. The glaze is good, but there is a fair bit of age-related staining on the inside and a couple of patches on the outside. It has a diameter of 4.5" and is 2.5" high. Magnificient antique Tongzhi Bowl Basin Marked(1862-1874) An estate find! From estate of fine Asian Antique collector who acquired this treasure from an England antique store 30 years ago. The interior bears ancient Chinese decorations of eight Buddhist symbols or"happy omens" in thick famille rose or fencai enamels. Serpants embracing each medallian. All done against pink back ground. The central medallion is of a flower. The outer wall repeats the same pattern. Tongzhi(1862-1874) An overglaze red six character mark which reads Da Qing Tongzhi Nian Zhi a Tongzhi period mark at the base. Meassures 16.25" high and 4" deep. weighs 10 lb 6.5oz. MINT CONDITION: Magnificent example of blue and white Ironstone China. There's not a nick or chip on either piece! There's normal rubbing on the bottom of the pitcher. However, it's nothing out of the ordinary considering it's age. I purchased this item fifteen years ago from one of the most prominent dealers at the illustrious antique fair that's held in Round Top. TX twice a year(Google it! It's worth the airfare to come as antiques are brought in from all over the US and Europe) These pieces have sat lovingly on my shelf as one of my most prized possessions ever since. The pitcher is 12" tall x 7 1/2" at it's widest point near the lip of the pitcher. The basin is 14" at it's widest across the diameter. Rust orange and white. The pitcher measures approx. 3” tall by 2 ¼” in diameter at its widest. Not including the handle. The bowl measures approx. 4 ¼” in diameter by 1 ½” deep. Both are stamped Erphila on the bottom with what appears to be Germany. But I cannot be positive. Both have a very high gloss with no chips, cracks or crazing that I can detect. The camera flash made the pieces appear whiter and lighter in color that they really are. Wouldn’t this be a nice addition to your collection or a thoughtful gift.
