Antique Usona Goodwin FOE Fraternal Order Of Eagles Tankard & 3 Mugs, Very Rough
This is a rare set of three mugs and a tankard/pitcher decorated for the FOE by Usona Goodwin. Which used this stamp from 1905-1912. They all have the eagle logo, with Liberty, Truth, Justice and Equality written on the side of the rock the eagle is perched on. The tankard is 13" tall and the mugs are 5" tall. Every piece is cracked and chipped. I am only offering them because they are so different. Chips and stains as well. I made no attempt to clean them. If you colllect FOE you'll probably love them, but they are all in very rough shape. Can't find another set like it, though. Please see shipping calculator for actual postage cost for US sales. Marked LIMOGES FRANCE( Coiffe factory white ware mark ca.1891-1914) and CORONET LIMOGES FRANCE( Borgfeldt factory decorating mark ca.1906-1920) The pitcher was decorated at the factory with hand painted pink roses on a green and white background. The rim of the spout and the base are brushed with gold. And the handle is heavily gilded. The piece is 13" high. 5" in diameter at the widest point, and 4 1/2" in diameter at the base. It is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks nor repairs. Some wear to the gold can be seen on the handle. A rare piece that has been treasured for 100 years. A great idea for a gift. I like to buy antique items with family crests& armorial coats of arms from the peerage as well as normal everyday folks.This has to be one of the VERY BEST examples of a coat of arms you will find with the arms- crest- motto which is fine engraved being 2 and half inch x 2 and half inch. This is a fabulous Georgian heavy 916 grams. nearly a kilo. sterling silver lidded tankard. it has the slight tapering cylinder form with the two areas of line banding. hand chased reeded decoration. 12 at the top and 14 at the bottom. a good solid handle scroll shape and the flat lid with the usual curve to the front. the thumb part is a 90 degree ... moreangle bit of silver which has 5 slots in it all hand cut- pierced- fretted design. a slight dent on the outer side of one of these. The hallmark is at the usual side being London 1796.makers initials are rubbed but they start off with an initial R and the other letter is either a C or G.so makers intials are RC or RG. Under the lid it has two marks as well.these are rubbed and look like the Lion and makers initials ending in G or C. So now. you are looking at the really FINE detail of the engraved COAT OF ARMS- CREST- MOTTO on the front. has two supporters being GREYHOUNDS at the sides of the shield.this has a diagonal band and on it are 3 BUCKLES.with the crest of a Blackamoor- Moor's- Negro Head gentleman facing left.as well as a motto on a scroll GANG FORWARD. Almost ANTIQUE solid sterling silver HALF PINT TANKARD or MUG which was made in London. England in 1916, by the famous Victorian silversmith, Sebastian Henry Garrard of R. S. Garrard& Company at their Haymarket workshops and retailed by ASPREY& COMPANY of London. It has a superb tapering shape and has a lovely solid scroll handle. It has a stunning band to the sides and is raised on a substantial skirt base. It measures 2 5/8" in diameter across the base. 3 3/8" in diameter at the lip, over 4 1/2" from from handle to lip and stands 3 1/8" high. It is VERY substantial- it weighs 195.2 grams- over 6 1/4 troy oz. It is NOT engraved. It is hallmarked to the side ... morewith SG. Description Antique 18th Century very rare and large Georgian Robert Cox Solid Silver heavy lidded tankard on circular foot. Scroll handle terminating in a heart-motif. The domed cover features a beautiful cast acanthus leaf volute thumbpiece. Applied girdle and circular base. The pinholes along the base are originals as in the 18th Century it was common to apply wooden plaques under the tankard's base. The front features a beautiful hand engraved armorial crest while the handle is engraved with initials. This is an Antique J.P.L. Limoges France Hand Painted Grapes Tall Tankard Pitcher by Jean Pouyat- beautifully decorated with exquisite Hand Painted Grapes and Grape Vines in all shades of light to deep green/ purple/ red/ orange background with a beautifully carved handle. Both the under glaze Limoges mark and embossed numbers are a proof of Authenticity. The dimensions are approximately: 12 3/4" tall; 4" across the opening to spout; and 6" across the bottom. The Tankard was purchased at an Estate Sale years ago. There are no chips. Cracks or repairs. This is some slight wearing of the brown paint on the bottom of the pitcher. There is a little gold loss on the handle where it was griped although there was only fine lines of gold on the edges of the handle to begin with.The background is mainly green. blue green and pink with gold stencilling trim. Up for auction is an Antique Rosenthal Floral Tankard. I have one of these available in EXCELLENT condition. The ceramic body shows very little wear with only a few areas of the gold trim being worn. Stein is in beautiful condition. I did some research online. This stein looks very much like some of the early Merkelbach German steins, my guess. This beautiful stein stands a tall 10 3/4" to the pewter finial, base measures 4 7/8" diameter, ... morefrom handle to side is approx. 6" stein is a nice one liter size with considerable weight, signed on the base Germany with incised and hand painted numbers, please see photos. The beautiful hand painted scene features three gentlemen and two ladies sitting at a table. Sharing a drink, their attire is late 1800's early 1900's German/ Swiss clothing, great detail is noted, facial features and painting is crisp with no losses, please take a look at these charming characters. I used the flash to show the detail, please excuse any white glear. The pewter lid appears to be a molded construction. A step up from the simpler lathe-turned lids with ornate detailing, photo#2 shows this well. The stoneware is a creamy color decorated with raised and molded bands with some gilding. There is no evidence of repairs and the condition is excellent. There is gentle crazing noted in the glaze from age, some minor gold wear from being handled over the years, every angle is shown for your inspection. Not marked-Pitcher measures 12" in Tall Base is 5 1/2" Wide. Tumblers are 4" Tall Applied handle with lovely hand-painted enameled flower and leave details. The Pitcher is in Excellent condition with. No chips or cracks and very limited gold and enamel wear, it is really There are No chips or cracks on the glass tumblers either. They do have some more wear of the gold which is expected with age. One tumbler has slight roughness from gold wear and another tumbler does have either a flaw line in the casting or a scratch shown in the last picture. It actually is not really noticeable unless your looking and not something that distracts from the beauty or quality of the glass, ... morejust trying to point out everything to be as accurate as possible. Most of the glass tumblers have slight mold lines across the bottoms, which is normal. This set is an Amazing Condition for its age! The Pitcher and set are very fine. This auction is for an ANTIQUE TANKARD made my J.P. France. This TANKARD is signed by M. Vorwerth(I believe) and dated October 29. 1909. This beautiful TANKARD is sort of copper colored background with a floral design on the upper half; the handle is gold colored and the rim is gold colored but is faded. This TANKARD is 5 1/2 inches high. 3 1/4 inches across at the top and 4 1/4 inches at the bottom. I do not know the history of this TANKARD. But it has been on the shelf for over 60 years. Antique Morris and Willmore Friar Tuck Tankard or Pitcher
Ragoarts refers to the Trenton. NJ partnership of Morris and Willmore as one of the rarest of Trenton pottery to find pieces of today. My research shows that this tankard was most likely part of a set with graduated sized mugs when originally produced between 1892 to 1902. It measures 11 1/2 inches tall and shows Friar Tuck having lunch. It is made of Belleek porcelain with a brown glaze and the transfer picture. It is in wonderful condition with no chips. Cracks or fracture lines. There are a couple of flecks of glaze missing off the handle(See Photo#4) There is typical age crazing on the base. A stunning example of Trenton. NJ ceramics. Morris& Willmore(Columbia Art Pottery Co. In 1892. William T. Morris and Francis Willmore, who had previously worked at Royal Worcester and Ott and Brewer, opened their own pottery. I am selling a fine old early 19th century ceramic tankard. Often referred to as a coffee can, with a lid, which may or may not be original to the piece. I bought it that way. The tankard or flagon is generous in size and a wonderful classic shape. I has an"elf ear" shaped handle and a raised pedestal base. The tankard is coffee color. And the lid, with its splayed lip and button finial, is creamy white. Together they look fabulous!
