It bears the JP over L France makersmark that was used between 1890-1932. It is hand painted with diffrent types of grapes on the vine with fall colored leaves. Vintage or Antique, Hand-Made Copper Tankard, Egyptian
An interesting Copper and Tin tankard which I believe would have originated in Egypt. Tankard is large. 12 cm high x 11 cm diameter. Has a hand made feel and is not a perfect shaped item, which adds to its charm. Tankard has a nice sheen to exterior but interior is considerably tarnished. Made of a mixture of copper and tin, which gives it an interesting two tone effect. In good. Sturdy condition. Not sure of age but have guessed early 20th century.

Offering for your consideration a rare and unusual HB Quimper covered tankard with the original lid dating from the turn of the 20th century. This interesting form is beautifully decorated with a folk art feel. The pattern incorporates a large and desirable butterfly in flight. Plus various panels of geometric designs with soft blue spongeware accents. The lid's design compliments the tankard by alternating six different geometric with a blue sponged rim and finial. The piece has old red clay and bears the HB Quimper only mark on the bottom. It is in mint condition. It is banded at the top and bottom and is marked on the side near top HALF PINT with two sets of crown marks with GR/ 346 LGC by one and VP/ 239 LCC by the other and the number 13 near both(see photos) It measures about 3 3/4" high and is about 2 3/4" in diameter at the top. Unfortunately there is a split in the side as shown in the photos. It is in otherwise good used condition with some wear and scuffing from many years of use. With a tall detail, thumb pull is a depiction of a woman with flowing hair. The top peak of lid is a man playing horn. The stein reads Gruss Aus Frankfurt which means Greetings from Frankfurt. SUPERB ANTIQUE WOOD& SILVER PLATE TANKARD BY MAPPIN& WEBB Description A rare opportunity to acquire this unique silver plate& wood tankard. Presented by Repton School in 1897 to R.I. Treharne Rees for winning the 150 yds race. Repton School in Derbyshire was first founded in 1559 and is one of Britains most prestigious public schools. It has a long sporting tradition and several noteable people are ex pupils- Raoul Dahl. Jeremy Clarkson, Basil Rathbone, Christopher Isherwood, to name but a few. R. Ihern Treharne Rees went on to the mining industry where he gained a 1st class manager's certificate in Cardiff in 1901 and subsequently became a director of Windsor Steam Coal Co. Ltd. The South Wales Institute of Engineers Educational Trust also lists one of their past presidents"Mr. Ithel Treharne Rees MInstCE FSI MIMinE(1910-1911) ... moreTankard is 5.25 inches high and just over 3 inches diameter at the base. The main body of the tankard appears to be silver plate. Overlaid with varnished wood, with additional silver plated banding around the outside. TREHARNE REES" is inscribed on the band below this. The silver bands are fixed with a series of small silver screws. As is the base of the handle. The bottom band has the Mappin& Webb marks"Tripe Deposit" Prince's Plate" Mappin& Webb Sheffield& London" See photos for details. The tankard weighs 455 gm Condition Excellent condition for its age. There is some wear to the wood in places.
