10 1/2" High x 8 1/8" Wide bottom 2 lbs. 4oz. Fine example of a late 18th. Early 19th century staved wooden tankard as seen in reference books on period woodenware. See"Early American Antique Country Furnishings(page 229 Fig 1003) by Nuemann, as well as the authors book on Revolutionary War era artifacts. As you can see the piece is an all wooden construction with a staved design and wrap around wooden banding. Thought this style is often noted to be New England in origin. This were also commonly used throughout Pennsylvania. Just an excellent original dry surface patina throughout the piece. The clean dry surface indicates it was likely used for grains seeds etc. as most other items would leave a much darker surface. Antique Brilliant Era Cut Glass Pinwheel Tankard Pitcher 6 LB 10 Oz
Auction Wizard 2000 Listing Template- AW2KLOT#632 FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION A"Brilliant Era" 6 pound 10 ounce Cut Glass Pinwheel Tankard Pitcher starts at the top with a jagged sawtooth rim and rib cut spout. The main tankard has 2 opposing 16 point star pinwheels. An applied 14 notch handle with flattened thumb rest and a lot of finely polished cross hatching and geometric fan cuts that surround the pinwheels. The 24 point star base bottom completes this beautiful work of art. It has no residues. Dirt or cloudiness. I can neither see nor feel any significant chips or cracks. Let the photo's be your guide. With this many facets it is possible to miss some small little imperfection. I do see 2 or 3 tiny cutting errors crossing the pinwheel flairs, but they are clearly polished cuts and not chips. One side of the spout lip is higher ... morethan the other, and I see one teeny tiny flea bite in a lower front fan which looks like it was done during cutting and that's it folks. The glass is extremely clear and bright. I can find no signature mark. My suspicion would be it was made by Hoare, but that is just my best guess because it nearly matches reprints from Hoare's 1911 catalogue sheets. Though it has a very German feel, the design was used on Vintage Italian Capo-di-monte ceramic mugs. Piece is 6" tall, with a 3 1/2" diameter base. Very elaborate handle. Piece weighs in at 2 pounds. Absolutely unusual pattern, embossed flower like and other patterns abound with major blue pattern on front and back, in super shape throughout, looks like never used to me but found at an old estate cleanout, guessing antique stoneware pitcher with lid or oversized stein, not sure, or tankard with stein, looks German but can not find a marking. Size is roughly 8" to top of adorned handle tab, 6 1/2-7" across entire item handle to spout about, 7" tall to top of lid, all sizes approximate. Correct me if wrong, to the best of my limited knowledge, blue salt glaze stoneware with pewter lid and handle, gorgeous and unusual pattern!

Art Nouveau Russian Pre-Revolutionary Folk Piece This is a rare wooden tankard made about 1903 and heavily painted on the exterior in a a pseudo-peasant style with an illustration from the famous illustrated book Skazki by Ivan Bilibin. This item appears to be product of Russian Princess Maria Tenisheva's art collective on her estate. Talashkino, near Smolensk, Russia, or perhaps the art colony at Abramtsevo. Bilibin is associated with both locations. The tankard is approximately 10 1/2"high. The condition is good with some wear to the painted surface and a loose hinge at the tankard top. Not marked. Antique German Westerwald Salt Glaze Stoneware Tankard/Pitcher/Stein
This auction is for a stunning piece of German Salt Glaze Stoneware. The pitcher has a base color of grey with cobalt blue detailing. The pitcher features a shield and what appears to be a date on each of the 4 handles. The dates range from 1590 to 1599. The amount of work and detail that went into this piece is astounding. Nearly every square inch has some sort of added detail. Inside the center of the 4 handles. Where each meet the base, sits a cherub holding a barrel and grapes. Near the spout a face of an elder is displayed. The entire pitcher is adorned with flowers and twisting vines. Sporadically, a cherub face also appears within the details of the pitcher. This piece is in great condition and does not have any chips, cracks or repairs. There is some wear to the glaze around the top rim, but that is to be expected of a piece this ... moreage that was actually used. There is no other notable damage or wear to this beautiful piece. My first thought when looking at this piece is that someone of significant importance must have owned it, but unfortunately, I cannot verify previous owners. Antique 1890's circa J.B. Owens Lightweight 17" Tankard Art Pottery 4" across the top. 4 1/2" from pour spout to side A little over 7" across the bottom This piece of pottery is signed. With a JB and a big O around it, for the J.B. Owens Company. It is also numbered 619. But not absolutely positive, it could be 819. see pictures) Artist signature is probably William A. Long according to the research I have done. There are flowers on the front of the tankard and down the side. They are beautiful and it looks like a vine from the top flower down the side to the lower flowers. There is what seems to be some"smudging" on parts of the tankard to me. But doesn't look like damage, looks natural to me, so I don't know if it was part of the"firing" process or not. The handle has a few tiny scratches ... moreon it. But are very hard to notice. Crazing seems to be all over the entire piece. But deep underneath the glaze, almost looks like it was meant to be that way, it is so uniform. But"crazing" proves authenticity and adds character! The vase was gotten from an estate sale of an avid collector and she adored her pottery. So it was well cared for. Antique European Heavy Pewter Tankard/Stein Embossed with Hunting Scene
This is a very old tankard. Most likely dating to 19th century, perhaps even earlier. It is made of very heavy and thick metal which I believe to be pewter and the surface is embossed with hunting scenes featuring hunters and dogs and this appears to have been done by hand. From what I have been told this tankard originally came from Europe. It is definitely quite unusual and it is obvious that it had been well used over the hundred years of its existence and there are signs of use. Marked with some kind of maker's mark or hallmark on the bottom but cannot decipher it. Please look at all the pictures to judge the condition. This is a great old comical German beer mug or tankard dating from the 1890's with an inscribed scene of a very inebriated man in a cart drawn by a dog! Above the dog is a flying barrel with a strange looking creature peering out. The man has lost his top hat and just above the hat is a smiling moon. It measures 6" tall and is in excellent condition except for a small crack or scratch on the underside of the handle that is not visible from the top and could have happened in manufacture when the vent hole was being cut. This lovely mug stands some 4 7/8 inches tall. The handle is blue. As are the 2 pairs of bands, which have a vertical ridge design in between the bands of both pairs. Banded decoration and a central cartouche with the contemporary initials RR to the centre. It dates to the mid to late 1800's and is in good usable condition with a couple of light bruises from use. Heavy Antique Hammered Copper and Brass Tankard Pitcher Decorated Mexico. This item is in overall very good used condition. I'm not exactly for sure what this is suppose to be. I am guessing some type of pitcher or tankard. It doesn't have any dents. Leaks, cracks or bends. It holds one gallon. it has been partially polished as you can see in the images. About 1/3 of the bottom inside hasn't been polished and it is covered with verdigris. This isn't like the new ones that are thin and light weight. This one weighs 3.8lbs It has been hand made by hammering and the sides are very decorated with what looks to be a scene of someone from an ancient civilization. As i mentioned before it has been polished and some of the polish is still in the small parts of the decoration. The handle is made out of brass and there is a seam where ... moreit was put together. SEE ADDITIONAL PHOTOS AT BOTTOM OF PAGE* GENUINE Antique 18th Century English Salt Glaze Stoneware Mug Tankard This is a wonderful 18th century English salt glazed stoneware mug with an applied molded scene of five standing figures on a naturalistically modeled tree trunk forming the main body of the mug. Complete with knots, the handle in the form of a branch with a knot thumb piece. It’s decorated with blue and a medium brown on the outside with the inside done in a rich chocolate brown. There are some firing cracks from the manufacturing process where the figures on the front(which were molded separately. Then applied to the surface before firing) join with the main body of the mug. There are similar firing cracks where the handle attaches. These are not damages; it’s ... morejust part of the manufacturing. There are no chips or cracks, so overall it’s in very good shape. The figures most likely represent a known historical or literary scene but I haven’t researched it enough to know for sure. It measures about 4 ½ inches tall and about 3 to 3 1/4 inches across the mouth(which is a bit oblong. Antique Nagoya Pitcher (Dragonware) Tankard Vaulted Style
Antique Nagoya Pitcher(Dragonware) Tankard Style w/ Four Vaulted Sides Style is consistent with wares made in early 20th century. Circa 1920s. Dragon is in raised moriage style with a wrapped body around the diameter of the vase. There are no visible cracks or chips. There is no lid. It is a beautiful piece that would enhance any collection. The vase is 4 3/4 inches high and 1 3/4 inches diameter at top and 1 5/8 at bottom. It weighs 6 oz. 1873 BENNETT'S PATENT SYRUP JUG; NO LID. PAT JAN 29, 1873. This picture has a very rare color patern. It is unlike any you will normally see. This is a very rare item, and it will make a great addition to any collection. There is a hairline on the top side as pictured. It still feels very solid. The tankard is of cylindrical form with moulded foot. The stepped lid has a scalloped peak, it has an S shaped handle with a cast openwork thumbpiece. This is a sterling silver minature tankard(or possibly whisky tot) made by Hamilton& Inches and hallmarked in Edinburgh 1905. It is made of a thick gauge of silver and is in very good condition. To the front it is engraved with the badge of The Royal Highlander- Black Watch with the inscription"Nemo Me Impune Lalessit" which translates as"No one attacks me with impunity" Hallmarks are clearly struck to the base and this also has the wording"Fron an Honorary Member" Clearly one for the collector. Limoges Tankard Artists Signed This is an absolutely beautiful artist signed Scotty; J.P Limoges tankard from the 1895 naturalist period. It has wonderfully soft yet bright colors. The artistic work is outstanding, Scotty is well noted in the Limoges book. It is 14 3/4 Inches; tall and 8 inches; wide including handle. This tankard does not craze, has no scratches, chips nor any cracks, it is in mint and excellent condition. It has a fabulous lizard handle which is outstandingly beautifully crafted; also it is highlighted with the additional great gold depicting that era.
