Georgeous Vtg. Antique-Cordey Lamp-French -Porcelain Urn -Up lighting-Gold Trim
Offered is a beautiful Style Porcelain Pottery Lamp/ Light with original label of"Cordey" I believe cordey is either french or italian but I'm thinking French. This is a very unique style compaired to most of the Cordey lamps I've see as most were figural and Capodemonte Lamps. I'm unsure of its exact age but its definately Vintage. To me it is a Footed Urn Shape or some may refer to it as a bell or trumpet shape. Its main Porcelain areas are a Creamy White color. The base is square with gold leaf trim on top side edge, the urn also has gold trim around its very top and a thin band below. Between Urn and Base is a lovely casted metal peice thats a flower shape, the metal is patinaed and I have not attempted to clean it so I'm not sure if its brass or not. The light has a very little short cord with a off/on switch ... moreand would plug into a outlet, I could see this being placed on a shelf of a Built-in or Book case that had a outlet. It has a georgeous warm glow that shows through the porcelain Urn and puts out a wonderful cast of up lighting. Its in very nice condition, I dont see any chips or cracks, The urn has a tiny rough spot on its inner rim like a scuff, the metals between look patinaed and the gold trim on base has some minor wear but otherwise it looks wonderful.It cord as stated is short measuring approx. 14" the overall height is 13 1/2" to rim, across center of flare urn top is 7 1/2" and the square base is 5" x 5" The label is on backside of base where wire comes out and it shows some wear. If this plate were really 18th century, it would be faience, i.e. tin-glazed earthenware, not ironstone. It has bronze ormolu fittings, including great handles, raised pedestal footing. The main body is all porcelain. Mainly Pink body with gilt gold florals, two medallions, one on either side, one side having a transfer of a Classical scene with cupid/cherub with two ladies, signed Kaufmann. The other side has a floarl bouquet. Both sides have hand painted accents. It measures approx. 16" with an acorn finials on and 6 1/2" across. There are no makers marks that we could find. Napoleonic era historic-romantic comical picture of political satire of period French soldiers. Industriously correct costuming. The historical subjects illustrate a seldom viewed area of the period prompted by poetry and legend. This unusual plate is made of soft paste china with transfer decoration typical of the early 19th century. It is not marked by the maker but at the top front it has a"N" with a crown above. There is also a stylized ribbon surrounding the plate with written verses in French. I was unable to find out what the translation is. There is also a royal Eagle at the bottom of this busy decoration. The plate is entitiled"L' APPRENTI CAVALIER" which translates to"The Apprentice ... moreCavalier. The plate has a 8 1/4" diameter. It has crazing in its glaze consistant with its age. Rare HUGE Antique Sevres Vion Baury French Paris Porcelain Man Figurine Figure
This is a beautiful rare large hand painted porcelain figure created in France circa 1870-90. He is very heavy weighted and a large size at 19 1/4 inches high by 7 inches wide. And weighs a whopping 11.12 lbs. The green anchor mark of the Vion& Baury factory has worn away, but is partially found on his lady mate listed in my separate listing. His face is very finely handpainted and he is walking in the meadow holding a baby goat as the momma goat looks up lovingly. This figure displays very well however the momma goat has one broken ear and the bottom of his scruff and the baby goat has one broken ear. There is a shallow chip on the back bottom base and the pink flowers are chipped on top. There is a tight hairline on the back of the figure near the bottom and also under the base. It is very tight and the figure feels very solid. Superb ... morefigure for the collector! He is a superb example for the collector and has a lady mate in the last picture that will be offered in a separate listing. If interested please take a look. For your consideration Antique Set of 2 Swinging Door Plates& Door Knob This set appears unused. French porcelain. Both marked Made in France, the door knob is also marked Halga. Pristine condition. Era is probably late 1800's. Acquired in 1996 and in storage since that time. The door plates measure 7 inches(18 centimeters) by 2 1/4 inches(5 cm 7 mm) The door knobs as shown are 6 inches(about 15 centimeters) long. The knobs themselves are 2 inches( 5 centimeters) in diameter and 1 1/2 inches( about 4 centimeters) in height. There are paper labels on the back of the plates. Antique French provincial porcelain jewelry box signed in gold floral roses hand
The title says it all. This jewelry box is in beautiful condition- it is free of chips and damage. The only thing I do have to mention is that it appears that a previous owner put some glue along the edges of the box probably in order to secure the porcelain portion along the metal frame. Thankfully. The glue is clear and has a an almost rubbery texture. I was tempted to just peel off the rubbery clear glue, but I will leave that decision up to you. The box is very sturdy and I'm not sure if its because of the"repair" Because of the glue the box doesn't snap perfectly shut, it closes almost all the way, but not quiet, and again, I feel that if the glue was removed this would be fixed. This i s a beautiful antique vase by Bourdois& Bloch. It is French porcelain circa 1890. It is marked on the bottom with the makers mark of two blue crossed arrows and the number 5445. There is a chip on one lea f and on a flower petal. As often happens on this kind of porcelain of this age. There is also a small chip on the edge of one ruffle on the back of the vase. Standing 11.5" tall and 4.5" wide, the clock is hand painted with 2 Cheribum and musical instruments on the sides and tops. The predominant color is a light shade of pink. Mechanically the movement will run but the pendulum only swings for a few minutes, it may need to be adjusted, I am not a clock expert and cannot vouch for the mechanical condition of this clock, it does appear complete with a movement marked France 174, the bell is present and the pendulum, the hands can be removed by simply pulling them off, I believe it is missing something that keeps the hands secured. The case itself is in excellent condition with the exception of a small flake or chip that looks like it may have happened at the factory. But it would sit behind the bezel so you would not be able to see it(see picture) The case otherwise has no cracks or hairlines. It measures 11-1/2” long. 6” deep and 8” high. The opening for the bezel measures 3-5/8” Originally this case would have had a porcelain statue on top. But that’s long gone.
