ANTIQUE ENGLISH~FRENCH ? HUGE PORCELAIN COMPOTE~LEAF & GILT DESIGN W/SILVER BASE
ANTIQUE ENGLISH~FRENCH? HUGE PORCELAIN COMPOTE~LEAF& GILT DESIGN W/SILVER BASE I am happy to offer such a find. You will not find a compote this old or this unique and large. Unless you travel to Europe. It is either French or English and I tend to think French, due to the furnishings of the estate were primarily French antiques and new American amenities. The compote is sturdy. Measures 9 1/4" high, and 13" wide in diameter with an edge of 1 1/2" to hold those creme puffs. It has a silver medallion in the middle which screws off from bottom for cleaning. I looked for marks.none. This is a marvelous perfect compote to hold any dessert that is high and yummy. Croquembouche.my favorite and not as hard as folks think. I will give you my receipe if you wish. The bottom base is beatiful too. Being 8 inches in diameter with a ... morelovely beaded silver trim, no dents. This compote is approximately 125 to 140 years old and is very heavy. It was in a family for 3 generations. Shipping is a bit hefty due to size and weight and must BE packed in a much larger box within a box. Plus packing materials. The materials are 25 for the bubblewrap, peanuts and boxes.and the shipping will be another minimum 30 dollars, probably more, so I will charge $50 to ship. If you purchase, you will understand when you receive it, HOW BIG, HOW HEAVY and how lovely this is. Its been around a long time and I intend for it to be around even longer. Thanks for viewing.any questions.please ask away. Please see our other antiques for sale(see a couple more that came from same estate. But not on yet) if you have a few moments. I have been on eBay for over 13 years and try to help everyone as best as I can. Happy Antiquing! oh.I forgot.IF YOU HAVE EXCELLENT FEEDBACK AND WISH LAYAWAY.PLEASE ASK. Antique Coleport Floral Porcelain Thimble * English * Mid 19th Century
Worcester5 Antique Coleport Floral Porcelain Thimble English* Mid 19th Century This lovely little antique porcelain thimble is an early one and was probably made by Coleport. It is hand painted with flowers and it has delicate gold branches and twigs around the sides. It has scalloped gold rims at the top and bottom. The painting is fresh and bright with almost no wear. It's about an American size 5(13.5 mm diameter opening) and is 7/8" high. It has a high gloss glaze inside and out. Bridget McConnel shows 3 very similar thimbles in the top plate on p. 102 of her book The Story of the Thimble. The more rounded top. Shape and glaze differentiate it from the more common Worcester porcelain thimbles. I stand behind everything that I offer and guarantee that it is exactly as presented. Antique Copeland Minton Topographical English Porcelain Pierced Rim Platter
Ebay Listing Page Antique Copeland Minton Topographical English Porcelain Pierced Rim Platter Item Description: Up for auction is a stunning antique porcelain platter manufactured in England during the midto late 1800s. I am unsure of the exact manufacturer of this platter since Minton. Davenport, Rockingham, Copeland, Ridgway, and several other companies made similar pieces during the time. The platter features a hand-painted topographical scene in the center with hills, buildings, sheep, and trees and it is surrounded by four geometric cartouches in bright magenta accented with gold gilt designs. The platter has a pierced rim with scalloped edges and the back is not marked. Overall the platter measures approximately 10 1/2" by 8 1/2" in diameter. Item Condition: The overall condition of the platter is excellent. It is very clean ... morewith no chips. Cracks, or repaired areas. The white porcelain is very bright and there is little to no loss to the painted details except for some gold wear. I see no crazing to the glaze, just some faint utensil scratches on the surfaces. This would make an excellent display on the wall or in someone's china closet. Please be sure to check out my other auctions for more great items! Thank you for your interest in our auctions! IT LOOKS ENGLISH TO ME AND PROBABLY PORCELAIN(MAYBE STAFFORD SHIRE? I AM NOT A DEALER BUT DID TALK TO SOMEONE WHO SAID THIS ITEM WAS POURED YOU CAN TELL FROM THE SMALL HOLES ON THE BOTTOM. HE DID SAY THERE IS A MAKERS MARK WHICH I HAVE PHOTOGRAPHED. If you look at photograph#11 you will see this mark. TO ME IT LOOKS LIKE A CRESCENT SHAPE BUT I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IT TO BE A MAKERS FLAW. THE PERSON I SHOWED THIS TO WAS UNABLE TO MAKE OUT THE MARK. I HAVE LOOKED THIS ITEM OVER AND RUN MY FINGERS OVER ALL OF IT FEELING FOR CHIPS OR DAMAGE AND HAVE FOUND NONE. For some reason the Ebay U.K. site filters from view the posting of sales by U.S. sellers containing the names of some of the better and more highly collectable English and German porcelain companies. I have no idea why this is. However, I do ship worldwide so you are welcome to bid on any of the items. IMPORTANT BIDDING AND PAYMENT INFORMATION: IF YOU PLAN TO BID ON THIS ITEM AND ARE THE HIGH BIDDER I WOULD LIKE TO ASK THAT YOU DO NOT PAY ME UNTIL YOU RECEIVE ... moreMY INVOICE NOT THE INVOICE THAT IS GENERATED IMMEDIATELY AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE SALE BY EBAY. Ebay now has rules that all sellers MUST ship items for which they have been paid within one business day without exception. Those who follow my sales and have bought from me over the years know that I have always had a policy of shipping within 24 hours of a sale(see my feedback) However, there are times when I am out of town unexpectedly for a house call, an auction or an estate call and it simply is not possible to get to the post office in time. Also, if you find that there is more than one item you are interested in bidding on over a given time period and would like to take advantage of combined shipping, please again, DO NOT pay me until the last of those items you're watching has finished. I will then send you an invoice with an adjusted shipping fee which saves on postage. I never charge a"handling fee" I would rather wait a few days on a payment and extend you the advantage of lower shipping fees than to be paid immediately- not ship- and then be scored negatively by eBay for not shipping soon enough. The top rim and some parts of the vase were decorated with a golden-color paint. The vase depicts images of roses/flowers. Back and front images are colored differently.
