Antique English Porcelain Aesthetic Chocolate Pot W Serpentine Handle & Violets
Antique English Porcelain Aesthetic Covered Chocolate Pot With Serpentine Handle Cottage Scene& Violets This lovely chocolate or coffee pot may appear to be a piece of Staffordshire transferware at first glance. But it is made of porcelain rather than an earthenware pottery material. This piece is more simple than frilly but quite beautiful to view. The creamy white body of the pot is square but as you can see, it was meant to display with the corner facing forward so you can view the amazing serpentine handle. The creature may be a snake, dolphin, dragon or a combination of the three but it does appear to have scales. On top of its head, there is a flattened flower medallion. This same creature can also be seen on the handle of the lid. The only decoration on the pot is a gold trimmed diamond shape scene of a cozy house or cottage in ... morethe woods with sprigs of Violets to one side. Maybe the artist pictured enjoying a hot pot of coco in the cold weather in the nice warm house while longing for the upcoming Spring(violets) The scene is not centered as the diamond goes around the corner on one side. Very Aesthetic in style. On the back, there is simply one little sprig of leaves, again, going around the corner. These same leaves can be seen again on the lid. Around the top of the pot, there is an embossed Greek Key design in the porcelain. The lid is triangular in shape and it fits quite differently than what we would expect today. It overhangs the edges of the pot and it is the type that would have to be held with one hand while pouring with the other as there is no tab to hold it in. It fits in perfectly behind the curved strainer that is attached to the sides. Covering all the top except for the spout. The only marking on the bottom of the pot is a number. I do believe this is a piece of Victorian English porcelain. It is fashioned almost exactly like the old Ridgways chocolate pots but the serpentine creature and the lid are a little different and this pot has four little'feet' on the bottom rather th

New debut listing for collectors this week comres this genuine 19th c English Copper Lustre Pitcher in a medium size with good shiny lustrous patina and a wide body neck band of mustard with floral swirls and an elegant flange handle.all in mint mint mint condition. Early 19th c British factories in the Sunderland region pumped out this shiny attractive glazed porceliain in tableware forms as cheap souvenirs for fair goers and to brighten dark cottages covered in blackened coal soot.ever seen the stone row houses in the working class district of Yorkshire? Covered by an exterior layer of coat dust from heating they sure could use some bright touches of copper lustre inside! British porcelains have always been highly collectible and I just found this one this past week just for you. Dear Shoppers, as perhaps ... morea nice Easter gift, from an eastern Pennsylvania farmhouse. The Pitcher measures 4.75" in height with a well formed pour spout and solid round base with high flange handle all in perfect condition after all these years and travels it has been through. Please see the pictures to see the detials of this lovely antique piece. No cracks. No harlines, no chips.all I see is on the main body, are two small areas of glaze blush slight discolor in the firing manufacturing process that are inhereent to the piece in the making. It has always been this way as copper lustre finish does not degrade over time, it remains exactly the handsome patina of lustre, it was born with the day it was made. This example has lovely bright shine for an early period piece, the base is fully glazed over, and unmarked, just the way the circa 1800's items were. Lovely Pitcher will mail via Priority with insurance included well bubble wrapped in sturdy box to one sharp eye SHOPPER with an eye for COPPER. Antique English Pottery Elsmore Forster Semi Porcelain Tureen Stoke-on-Trent
north beach emporium Art Pottery& Ceramics Antique Elsmore& Forster Imperial Parisian Granite English Pottery Semi Porcelain Serving Bowl w/ Underplate Details: Description ~ This is a very interesting piece of antique English pottery. White in color and oval in shape with a pattern that appears to be English bluebells or a similar floral. It more than likely was made with a lid which is no longer with the piece but this dish is still a fantastic decorative antique piece. Back Stamps ~ The makers mark is on the underside of the under plate only and is of“Imperial Parisian Granite. Semi Porcelain(Ironstone) Elsmore& Forster. There is also an impressed stamp of P G and 16. I believe the P G stamp was used from 1872– 1887. Condition ~ Though there is much discoloration(which actually adds character) And a few flea bites through out, ... morethis piece is completely intact with no cracks, chips, scratches or signs of repair. I have found that this discoloration in antique pottery is more than possibly from holding hot foods. Measurements ~ Bowl Height: 4& ½” ~ Bowl Base Diameter: 4” x 3” ~ Bowl Rim Diameter: 5& ½” x 3& ¾” ~ Under Plate Diameter: 8” x 6& ½” All measurements are approximate. Stoke-on-Trent History ~ Since the 17th century. The area has been almost exclusively known for its industrial-scale pottery manufacturing. 13] Companies such as Royal Doulton. Dudson Ltd. Spode(founded by Josiah Spode) Wedgwood(founded by Josiah Wedgwood) and Minton(founded by Thomas Minton) were established and based there. The local abundance of coal and clay suitable for earthenware production led to the early(initially limited) development of the local pottery industry. The construction of the Trent and Mersey Canal enabled the import of china clay from Cornwall together with other materials and facilitated the production of creamware and bone china. Other production centres in Britain. Europe and worldwide had a considerable lead in the production of high quality wares. Methodical and h

There is a small chip on underside of the base rim and there is a darkened line on the base that is only visible on the bottom, it does not go through. The piece has a nice"ring" to it when you tap it with your finger. I have more than twenty 19th century Staffordshire figur

Antique English Blue & White Porcelain Platter c.1753 Marked "Bletchley"
Antique English Blue& White Porcelain Platter c.1753 Marked Bletchley Description: Antique English Blue& White Porcelain Platter c.1753 Marked Bletchley. The back of the piece has"Bletchley" written in cursive blue type. Where my pointer is by the Bletchley name. There appears to be a faint date of 1753 and another symbol nearby that I could not make out no matter my best attempts with jeweler loupes could not get it to show up in my pictures. I believe the soft paste may have filled in the etchings during kilning. Condition: The piece is in great condition considering its age. I have taken pictures on just about every angle and can send more should you desire. There are some minor chips along the edges that can be seen more easily from the rear as opposed to the front. I have positioned my pointer in those areas. There ... moreis suppose to be gold trim along the handles but enough is left so that the pattern is evident should a mild restoration be desired. Personally. I would not restore anything except repainting the gold trim along the handles. There's is some mild bluring in the blue cobalt, what you'd expect from a piece of this period. There are two rust spots on the front that appear black in the pictures, but under slight magnification are actually very brown. No cracks, major chips, or repairs. Dimensions: The piece is approximately 10" long. 9" wide and 1.5" in height and weighs about 590 grams. Comments: My research has led me to believe this to be a custom piece that may have once belonged to the estate of Browne Willis. Lord of Bletchley Manor, England. This gentleman was among the richest and most powerful people in England and most certainly in the small town of Bletchley at the time. He had a mansion built in Bletchley in 1711. He was an avid collector of coins, written works(author as well) antiques and porcelain as it was very desirable at the time. He was a member of the British Parliment during his life and died in 1760. All sales are final and as is and inten

ANTIQUE ENGLISH PORCELAIN ROYAL DOULTON JAPANESQUE BIRD BISCUIT JAR - SILVER LID
This is for one beautiful piece of Antique Royal Doulton pottery. This is for a lovely Japanesque styled jar. With silver collar, handle and lid. Not marked that I can see.needs a good polish. The body of the jar is just wonderful.it's very textured.with a scene of Prunus tree.with Blue birds and Cranes flying around. It's a creamy tone.with dark brown silhouette style design. It's been hand-painted. Some of the dark brown color seems to have smeared thru time.when you look close at the birds and tree design there is so much detailing.but it's hard to see unless right close to it. There is a gold border on bottom edge.it does have some wear to it. The interior is brightly glazed creamware. Some slight darkening on inside in spots. The handle is a nice shaped loop.not just flat. The lid is a flat style.fitting very snugly, ... morewith a cute round knob. In great shape. It measures 9" tall.with handle upright.x 7" wide. This jar is impressed with Doulton& Slaters Patent. This would be circa 1886-1914. This item is in very good condition.no chips.some age crazing when you look into the bowl.and I see two small stress cracks.showing inside at top edge.starting under the silver rim.not apparent on outside. Antique Qianlong 18th c English Blue White Chinese Porcelain Export Cup & Plate
For auction is: Antique Qianlong 18th c English Blue White Chinese Porcelain Export Cup& Plate Superb pair are a couple of the last pieces from an estate I have been listing since last summer. Bought together but very different in how they feel- the cup/mug measures a hair shy of 2 3/4" tall. 2 5/8" across and making a very pretty, fine ringing sound. No chips or cracks- a tiny tiny nick to the base edge- and note the heavy glaze and decoration stops 1/8" from the bottom and that 1/8" is unglazed and rough and then the bottom(underneath) is again glazed. Base of the cup is surprisingly heavy and then inside has decoration extending about 1" into the cup and then the flower inside as shown in photos. Small plate measures 5 5/8" across and the rim is 7/8" tall from the table. This piece also makes a ringing ... moresound but not the same one as the cup- no chips or cracks as well- and light weight. The edge of the underside of the plate measures 3" across and is rough and unglazed. The two pieces are slightly different blues and the cup blues seems to be a little"deeper" in the piece whereas the plate's not so much. Hoping you can tell from the pictures. PLEASE DISREGARD LIGHT REFLECTIONS IN PHOTOS! F eel free to email questions. Will be carefully wrapped and shipped at a cost of $8.00 in the Continental U.S. If you are out of the U.S. please contact me for an estimate. Thank you for your business!
