This is a gorgeous French Ladies Writing Table. It is a cream color with gold accented detailing of leaves and scrollwork. 7 drawers, and curved legs and feet. One particularly nice feature of this table is that it is also meant to be viewed from the back(see photos) so you can place it anywhere and have a beautiful view. There are some areas of wear to the paint but it is appropriate to the age and is in very good condition overall. It measures 43" wide 22" at the widest point. And 30" high. It weighs approx. 65 lbs. Rare Vintage Norman Bel Geddes Simmons Industrial Writing Metal Desk & Chair WOW
Extremely Rare Simmons Art Deco Metal Industrial Writing Desk and Chair Set This is an extremely rare and sought after industrial steel desk designed by Norman Bel Geddes in the 1930’s for Simmons Furniture Company. It was found at an estate auction. I couldn't believe my eyes. Both pieces, a matching set still together. I believe the paint is original. And both pieces of furniture have the Simmons Label still attached. Both pieces are in the condition that I purchased them. I did clean them off to inspect for any defects. But they will need a more thorough cleaning. The desk and chair both have scuffs and scratches with chipped and worn paint. I didn't see any dents. The desk still has the leveling feet attached. The chair is in the same condition, the vinyl looks to be original and shows age and needs cleaned, but I did not find ... moreany rips or defects. The top does have a discoloration to it, I do not know if this is age or staining, but I will leave that cleaning process up to the buyers preference. I am listing this as pickup but I maybe offering shipping as soon as I get a quote. Bel Geddes designed the desk for sale as part of a metal furniture collection that was introduced by the Simmons Furniture Company.
