Antique Federal style mirrored vanity dating from the early 1900's. Stunning flame mahogany veneers grace the surfaces of this piece and are decorated with intricate contrasting inlay. Slender tapered legs support the structure and give this piece a light, airy quality. This piece is in very good condition. This piece has six drawers ina 3 over 3 configuration. Providing ample storage space. All the drawers are made with high quality dovetail construction. The entire piece is raised off of the ground by short tapered square legs sitting on brass and wood casters. Overall. This piece is in good condition. There is some noticeable silver loss to the mirror(see pictures) but no cracks or other damage. This is a superb solid mahogany vanity dressing table made in England circa 1900. To the base it has a knee hole or some times in England years ago they used to let the dog sleep in there.They called it a dog kennel, it has the original cut glass handle. The top has the original beveled mirror. And to either side there are two small trinket drawers for jewelry etc. Condition is very good. The top comes of the base so its easy to transport. Georgian English Hepplewhite Style Bowfront Mahogany Antique Chest Dresser
Spectacular.World Class Beauty. Georgian/Hepplewhite Style"swirl mahogany" Bow front chest of drawers.Circa 1920 I acquired this stunning piece needing some tender loving restoration. It presented with a very opaque brown finish hiding the beautiful swirl mahogany. I removed the opaque finish and discovered the beautiful graining on this chest. Including on the drawers and the cross banded mahogany around the top edge.The rich reddish brown mahogany has incredible grains as seen in some of the close up photos(close up of the drawer pull) I restored the finish with many, many coats of hand rubbed varnish over the natural mahogany. The chest is a true chest of drawers with drawers that increase in depth(graduated) as you go down the chest.I restored the chest from top to bottom including regluing and clamping all of the drawers. The ... moredrawers all feature precise dovetail construction. Both at the front& back corners of the drawers. The drawers all have a extra stiffener support board built into the middle bottom of the drawers, a sure indication of high quality& craftsmanship. This chest is rock solid& built like a tank, made from all hardwood construction.the mahogany is all veneered over poplar secondary woods. The drawers are made of oak.The drawers slide excellently. The Chippendale style bracket feet and wrap around trim details of the top and lower portions of the chest are superb details. the brasses are all original including the dummy keyhole escutcheons. The detail of the brasses is fantastic as you can see in the photos. I buffed the brasses and clear coated them with laquer. They do have some darkened areas on the brass with makes for great character and patina The pulls work perfectly.You won't find more intricate& beautiful pulls.all original.There is a makers branded mark on the outside of the top drawer.see photo) The top drawer has 2 removable oak dividers which can be used to divide the top drawer into 3 compartments. For sale is a antique A. H. Davenport Co. Mahogany dresser with mirror. It has a peg slot for the mirror and small drawers to rest on. Nice inlaid carvings on both pieces. The drawer fronts are flame Mahogany with some inlaid and old skeleton key locks. The company is out of Boston and New York. This is a dresser from the early 1900's and in very good condition. I am proud to be offering for your consideration this American antique solid mahogany low boy chest circa 1880- 1900? This piece is right out of an old Boston area estate. It's a quality piece. All hand made of heavy solid mahogany. The finish appears to be original and good, but needs to be cleaned up and polished. The original solid brass Chippendale style hardware is all present. The drawers are in good condition and have hand cut dovetails and champhored bottoms. The carcus has plank sides, one side has an old shrinkage crack. The chest sits on tall, thin cabriole style legs that end in carved animal claw and ball feet. The problems are. the claws have been chewed by a dog and the backside has loose glue joints. Antique 1916 Mahogany Dresser / Dressing Table / Vanity with Mirror
THIS ITEM IS FOR LOCAL PICKUP IN IRWIN. PA 15642 ONLY. NO SHIPPING. Antique vanity/ dresser/ dressing table with mirror. The finish is a dark brown. As shown in the pictures. The facing is missing in a couple places. The mirror has two side mirrors that fold in and out. It has 5 drawers; each drawer has a lock mechanism that looks like it accepts the old style skeleton keys, but I don't have a key for it. The size is about 20 inches deep, 44 inches wide, and 59 inches high. Although I can't tell what they mean, there are several markings on it. Stamped into the wood on the back are the numbers 4474 and 57. 4474 seems like it was important to the manufacturer, because it is in 3 separate places. The mirror is very delicately attached to the dresser. I took the wooden back panel off the mirror to see how it was attached and figure out ... morehow to make it more sturdy, and discovered that the back of the mirror is stenciled with the date June 13, 1916 and an"N" and a"P" which may be the mirror manufacturer's logo. On the inside of the wooden back panel are the words"4474 Mahogany" hand written in cursive pencil. The number"48-88" is stenciled inside the back panel also. 4474 Mahogany Toilet" is also hand written in pencil inside one of the left hand drawers, along with what looks to be the"48-88" again. I looked online but couldn't find information on what these numbers mean or where the vanity came from(or how much it's really worth) I also don't know if"Mahogany" is meant to be the color of the finish, or the type of wood it's made of. The mirror doesn't come off for transportation. It is attached only with 4 screws through the wood mirror frame into the desk part. Which is why the center mirror rocks back and forth a little when the vanity is moved. It could be braced more securely but I don't want to put more screws into it, the new owner can do that. It is Eastlake style with line carvings and a beautiful crest crown atop a large rectangular mirror. There are lamp shelves flanking the mirror with scrolling corbels for supports. The base has 4 spacious drawers and is topped with marble. The marble drawer tops have a ¼ bevel edge while the center piece has a straight edge. The center piece does have some nicks ... moreand chips in the top and bottom edge but there are no cracks. Breaks or fractures that I can see in any of the marble pieces. The drawers have brass and wood drop pulls. The dresser sits on casters. This is a beautiful example of Eastlake style craftsmanship. Pair of Antique Mahogany Vanity and Wastand or Chest Made In England
These are a very nice pair of Dressing Table and Washstand made in England circa 1900. There are 3 satinwood panels to the back of the Washstand, it also has the original cut glass handles, to the base it has what used to call a dog kennel were the dog would sleep below to the center. This would have at one time had a bowl and pitcher on the top were people would wash them selves. The condition is very good. The Vanity is in very good condition has all the same details as the Washstand but with a mirror and two trinket boxes to the top. This is a gorgeous solid mahogany city style Chippendale two-piece chest on chest featuring ball and claw feet. A broken arch, crown ... morecrest that dates from the 1930s-40s. It has lipped drawers, solid mahogany construction, fan shell carving on the bottom and top that's really deep and rich, hand-carved rosettes on the open crown molded top, turned finials with flame finial in the center, carved pillars, and ending a ball and claw cabriole leg base. It's of fantastic quality, with its original brass hardware, all dovetail drawers, and all solid mahogany. The chest has been cleaned down, scuffed, more reddish- brown stain put on, and then we hit it with the satin sheen lacquer to show off the original patina and to highlight the gorgeous grains in the wood, which shows only minor nicks and dings. The overall size is 38 inches at the widest point, 20 inches deep, 34 inches high on the base cabinet, and the entire piece is 76 inches high. It has 10 different drawers for storage, offering lots of space for a very reasonable price. This is one of the better quality chest on chests available.
