The guy i bought this from told me this was a wall mount stool. I Don't this so. I think it is a floor mount. But as the buyer you can decide! I took pictures both ways. ANy way this is an oldie! It is also very heavy it weights 23 lbs. THe stool wooden seat measure 10 1/2 inches across and is 2 inches thick. It is 24 inches tall from the floor with the seat down. THe only marks i see says Patented. THe metal plate on the bottom is 12 x 12 inches! I really feel this piece came out of an old post office. W/cast iron legs to hold it up. The table top is probably an old formica{ top that is ... moresat on a piece of wood. The top formica piece looks like it could be easily removed as it is already somewhat loose if one wanted to replace it or they could possibly reglue it. It is just a thin layer on a thicker piece of wood. You will see signs of paint loss and scratching to the table top as well as stains and dirt wear, formica top has stains, scratching, tiny holes from other items being attached at one time& and other possibble signs of age and use. Table width is 15 1/2" Length is 42 1/2" height is 40 1/2" from floor to top of table. The table legs are cast iron. They are painted black and you will notice some signs of age. Use and wear w/some scratching, possible paint loss, pitting, dirt that would be normal for a table such as this. This was a work table so please expect signs of use. Age and storage. joe calcite INDUSTRIAL CAST IRON WORKBENCH/ TABLE LEGS This offering is for a set of vintage or antique cast iron table or workbench(work bench) legs. These are very heavy duty.carrying an eight foot work top when found. They have a notch built in to hold a stretcher/ reinforcing board. The top piece has a built in 1.5" step up from front to back. As well as a brace for a backsplash. There are no maker's or foundry marks that I found. The rust is very light and much of it is'flash' rust caused by all the rain and moisture in the last weeks. No cracks were found. One small chip on one foot can be seen in photo 11. There is some reddish paint on the front of one leg. The height from the floor to the lower brace is 9" To the top of the front section is 30.5" to the top of the rear section is 31" to the top of ... morethe backsplash brace is 37" On the top, the front/lower section is 13.5" deep, and the rear/upper section is 15.5" deep. The usable space between the front and back legs, for a shelf for instance, is 15" The distance from the back of the splash brace to the front lip is 30.5" Distance between the outer edges of the front and back feet is 24" Each leg weighs just under 60 pounds. Bignall Medina NY Machine Age Industrial Deco Cast Iron Table Base Leg Old Paint
Please use the Supersize Feature on our pictures at the top and below the description as we consider them to be a very important part of our auctions- our photos show great detail and they are about the next best thing to"being there" Here is gorgeous antique cast iron table base or stand– it has a really great cross between Art Deco and Machine Age Industrial Steampunk designs. It also has some really fantastic old green paint on it. One side is marked MEDINA NY and the other side is marked BIGNALL CO. This stand or base stands 19 ¾” tall at the top rim and measures 8” across the bottom of the base. The circular top measures 13” across at the outside edges and 12 ½” across at the inside rim or shelf. One side of that inside shelf is marked 12 1/2. Each side has a graceful arched arm for supporting the top piece. The arches ... moreor support arms have a series of circular cutouts in graduated sizes. There is a small square nut sort of quick soldered or tacked in one of the smaller circles– it looks like it will pop right out with a bit of force and a screwdriver. But I left it there. The original owner must have modified it for some reason to suit his needs. It does not have anything to do with the structural integrity of the piece. The center post is attached to the stacked domed base. The top circular rim is attached with screws, nuts, and bolts- I took pictures of how the it is attached from underneath. There is no damage to this piece– no breaks. Cracks, or repairs. There is flaking and missing old green paint here and there with the original black paint showing through. The underside of the base has some rusting, but there are no areas of pitting or weakness in the metal. I gave this piece a quick wipe down with some warm water and a sponge and dried it completely– nothing else. This base will be a work of art– well, it already is. This is a very nice 2 tier or multi tier antique cast iron base that was made by Kenney Bros. Wolkins Inc. of Boston MA. It would make a great stand or end table and was originally part of an early school desk. It measures 29 1/2" high x 23" deep. The base is 11" wide x 16" deep, the bottom tier is 16 1/2" from the floor and is 9 1/2" in diameter, the upper tier is 29 1/2" from the floor and is 10" wide x 8 1/2" deep. Other than some surface rust it is in good condition. This auction is for one stand. It is available for pickup or can be shipped by Fed Ex ground. Lots of primitive antiques, farm finds, folk art, and the usual wacky Maureen stuff- you don’t want to miss this week! I just loved the look and feel of this one- regardless of whether or not you need it for a chair! It tells its own story- advertising on the top. Milwaukee Chair Company Pat. Oct. 20, 1914. It also has the number 21 and the word"Pull" on the knob that comes out of the wheel. This knob is attached to a spring that works quite well- pulling out, and then springing back into place when you release it. The piece is round, made from cast iron, measures 4 5/8" diameter without the tab, and weighs a hefty 1 1/2 lbs. It is in excellent ... moresolid and sturdy condition, with an old black finish that shows wear in some spots, and very light surface rust where the metal is exposed. It's minor. There's a fair amount of dust and dirt on the piece- it could use a good cleaning- I have not tried to clean it in any way. It's a neat old industrial piece of cast iron! joe calcite INDUSTRIAL OAK& CAST IRON MACHINE LEGS STAND BASE This offering is for a set of cast iron sewing machine legs/ stand. BUT WITH A DIFFERENCE. I've seen the queen anne style legs, with the curve and'shoulder' part of the cast iron. In this case, the cast iron legs come with oak legs with a groove in the back to fit snugly over the iron and screw on from the rear. This gives you the option of using just the iron legs, or dressing them up with oak as your mood and decor dictate. To complete the transformation, I have included the trim pieces from the original upper cabinet so that the oak runs top to bottom. Unfortunately, the lower 5" of one is broken off, but placed on the side facing a wall or sofa, it would go unnoticed by most. Given the unique character, many wouldn't care. There are no cracks or breaks ... morein the iron. The paint was originally brown. But is now heavily worn with some light rust in places. The finish on the oak was dried out and flaking badly, so the rest of the finish was removed with a stiff brush and the exposed faces were clear coated. The wood itself is also worn. The legs measure 16" wide at the top, 13.5" wide at the bottom. Total height is 28" The stretcher is 23" wide, but can be replaced with a heavy threaded rod to place them closer together or further apart. Casters work but have a few flattened spots where its been dragged perpendicular to the wheels. This auction is for 2 old cast iron gears/cogs. Which I believe are John Deere tractor parts. These items are in great shape and ready to be put back in action again! Whether used as an art project, or to retool an old cart, or even repurposed, these items are just itching to be put to good use! I love the intricate patterns they have. The largest of these gears is 9 inches wide. 3 3/4's inches thick and has a 1 1/4's inch center. It has c-13248-c stamped into it. The second one is 7 1/2 inches wide. 1 1/2 inch thick and has a 1 1/4's inch center. It has c13214c stamped into it. As always; if you have any questions or would like more pictures. Here is a nice grouping of cast iron gears. Fresh from the farm. They measure from 3 1/2' to 8" wide. Have a nice original rusty patina plus usual dirt. Two are from a piece of John Deere farm equipment with a little remaining green paint and a second from an International Harvester planter. Looks great as wall art or design it yourself re-purposing.
