This is the apron f rom an antique table that was about 68"X48" It was an oval table. So some of these are more curved since they were on the ends and the straighter ones were the sides. They are mortise and tenon. One piece has a n edge that is broken off near the end on the back. It measures 25” tall and is carved from un-finished solid Philippine mahogany and still has the chuck marks in the base where the blank was roughed out. The woman has obvious early 20th century features and appears to be having trouble holding up her bath towel. It is free of obvious damage and needs to be cleaned up a bit. Antique furniture parts curved sofa, chair ottoman legs solid carved hard wood
These legs came off an antique camel back brocade sofa from the 1930's(or earlier) that I purchased at estate auction yrs ago. It was a very well constructed piece of furniture with hand tied springs. A heavy hard wood frame, and horse hair for the first layer of padding. When I retired it for good. I salvaged these front legs. The back"legs" were actually part of the frame itself, or else I would have saved them as well. They have the original finish on them except for where I used a little denatured alcohol to help identify the wood. I am not positive. But my best guess is that they are mahogany or maybe cherry. They are NOT identical! That was never noticeable when they were on my couch- only when I put them side by side to measure. Upon doing my research. I found out that this style of carving is very complex and can only ... morebe done with one solid piece of wood so it's actually not unusual for them not to be exact duplicates. Original four factory wood screws included- they are flat(square) head- another clue that they are old. Cross head screws weren't used until the later 1930's and after. Measurements: Right leg: 3.5" all 4 sides at the top where it fastens. 6" high. 2.25" across; 2" front to back at the bottom where it rests on the floor(foot pad) Left leg: 3 sides at 3.5" and the back side is 3" across at the top. 6" high. 2 1/16" across; 2" front to back at the bottom(foot pad) You can't go to Lowes and buy these!

Antique Furniture Salvage Piece Hand Carved Wood Table Base or? I'm not quite sure what this beauty started life out as- but it was just too pretty to pass up. It's an antique furniture part of some sorts- made of solid wood. It has carved details that very much remind me of the Eastlake era. I"m wondering if maybe it was a hall tree stand- as you can see that it was cut from whatever used to be at the top- there's no indication of anything actually attaching there- no screw holes, etc. so I do believe that it was cut from a larger piece- see photos 17-18. I thought it would make a lovely table base for you- or maybe the base for a pedestal for an item that you want to display- it's so pretty, it deserves a new life! You would have to figure out a way to attach a top to it if you plan to make it a table or pedestal, though, ... moreas there's no hardware holes. It's in excellent solid and sturdy structural condition. The finish is in really nice shape too, with only minor nicks, scratches, scrapes and finish wear that you really have to look for. You could minimize with a little polish, but I really don't think that it's necessary. I'm showing in photos 13 and then 14 that it's missing two"rosettes" for lack of a better word- right next to each other. The other side has its two rosettes- that's what I'm showing in photo 14, so if you do not want to replace the missing ones, you could turn that side to the back. No other issues that I can find- I can't say enough about this one- it is oldoldold and very nice. It measures 22" long going straight across foot to foot, and there's 17" measuring one foot to the foot next to it. It measures 20 3/4" tall and weighs 5 1/4 lbs. I'm not sure of the wood- it's not oak for sure, and it's a hardwood, so supersize and see what you think. 2 Antique Table Legs This pair of antique table legs are the most ornate pair of salvage pieces that I have run across so far. They could be used to salvage an old table or to create a new table. The top of the leg forms a corner. The legs look quite delicate with the pierced design. The legs are 25" long but one of the legs has an additional piece of wood at the top that may have been used to attach to a table. The finish appears to have been removed from the darker leg. The lighter leg still has some finish on it. It also has a piece that has come off but could easily be reattached. The lighter leg is missing a raised piece at the center of the leg. One of the feet is a bit more banged up than the other. 2 Antique Salvage Long Carved Wood Chinese Furniture Toppers -Floral w/MOP Inlay
2 Antique Salvage Long Carved Wood Chinese Furniture Toppers Floral with MOP Inlay ~ two salvaged antique Chinese hand carved wood furniture or screen? toppers the shorter floral one appears to be of Rosewood( beautifully carved flowers and leaves with inlaid Mother of Pearl there are two pegs that are cut flush to the bottom right under the second flower in from each side that I would guess was how they were attached to whatever piece of furniture they were attached to that one measures 49" long by 3-1/2" wide and 1/2" thick the longer one looks like a kind of Mahogany and I have no ides what is carved at each end but one end is missing that very end that you can see on the other end this one also is carved on both sides where as the shorter one is on one side only it also has the slightest bow to it this one measures 58" ... morelong by 3-1/2" wide and 7/16" thick ~ shipping by USPS Priority Mail or pick-up in Marina del Rey. For sale is a pair of antique wood trim pieces. These probably came off of an older piece of furniture from the Art Nouveau period. Both are in good condition for their age. One has a slight bit of damage on the tip(see photos) Both have a single nail at the top that used to attached them. Measurements- 5-5/16 wide X 3-1/2" tall. Pair is sold as is.
