NOS Caster Mounting Brackets Wheel Brackets for Antique Furniture
Here are 4 NOS mounting brackets for your antique casters. They will Fit most standard antique wooden wheels on dressers and office chairs. Expect some signs of corrosion from age and handling- they remain fully functional. The pieces pictured are not the ones shipped but are from the same lot and are the same size and quality. I would say these. Being older, are probably more sturdy than the newer ones- that's just my opinion) They Measure 1 1/4" tall with an inner diameter of a 1/4" the toothed base is 3/4" I do have multiple lots so just let me know if you need more and you can save on shipping. This listing is for a set of 4 Antique Feltoid Furniture Casters. Pat. Date Dec 29 1908. From my research. The Feltoid casters were introduced in the early 1900's. The wheel coverings were made of highly compressed felt as opposed to the previous metal casters. The stems, bracket, and wheels are made of brass. They have expected wear and patina from use and age. All 4 wheels roll well and the stems are straight. The brackets are not bent/crushed as is often the case with old casters. It has the original nail that held it to the piece of furniture. The caster has a wheel that is about 1" in diameter and 5/8" thick. The stem turns nicely in the metal tube that is inserted in the leg. I doubt that this caster has ever been off this leg. Condition: This caster is not cracked and it does not have any flat spots. It is slightly worn on the shaft. But does not wobble. The furniture leg is not split or chipped. There is a bit of paint on one side. All my items are from a nonsmoking environment. At all, your caster fits- Even if it has play up and down, it's OK, many wheels have varying stem lengths, the important thing is that the wheels/casters don't fall out.they will still spin freely which is what your going for(you don't usually need to lift your dresser leg off of the ground.So ... moreyou don't have to worry about vertical play) If the stem of your caster is two long for the hole of your furniture leg just drill it deeper with a bit the size of the bracket tube. Next center the bracket evenly in the hole of the furniture leg you're working with. Then tap the toothed portion of the bracket into the wood with a hammer- it won't get flush with the wood but it should be pretty snug, then put your caster in. Your set!

They do not have the swivel but are free to turn in the inserts that are included(only 6) The porcelain measures 1 5/8 inches in diameter and 1/2 inches wide.
