Antique set of 4 cast iron furniture casters 1.75" wheels hardware lot
This is a matched set of 4 cast iron furniture casters. The wheels are 1- 3/4" in diameter. The tapered shanks are 2- 3/4" long and just about 1/2" in diameter at the base. These will raise a piece by 2 inches. The casters roll freely. They have some surface rust, and they are not bent or otherwise damaged. One of the casters has a little paint on it(see 2nd photo, 2nd caster from left) This is a nice useful set. If you have any questions. Please ask.

Antique Payson Mfg Co. 360 Degree Cast Iron Wooden Wheel Furniture Casters
PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION AND TERMS BEFORE BIDDING! FREE SHIPPING! Up for auction are Five antique/ vintage furniture cast iron wooden wheel casters(5) total Circa 1880’s. Recovered from an antique furniture carpenters inventory. They are we believe to be Payson Mfg Co. 360 Degree cast iron casters with wooden wheels. An extensive research of the web produced none like it and only two similar larger casters made by Payton. The casters are stamped P Mfg Co. Nov 22 81 as best as can be seen. But the full name cannot or was not included on these. Two of the five still have the original wooden wheels; the other three have fallen off. They are unique because the three 1/4” mounting holes are hidden within the skirted swivel base which holds the disc shaped Babbitt bearings. The mounting screws are screwed in via the underside access hole ... moreas it rotates around(see pictures) The wooden wheels can be replaced because casters of this era were“pinned” in place. Remove pin insert wooden wheel and reinsert pins blunting the ends. The dimensions are as follows(approximately) Overall measurements of each caster is 2- 3/4' tall by 1– 1/2'wide. Mounting Plates are 1– 1/2" in diameter and the stem insert is 1” tall. The wheels measure 1– 1/8” by 5/8” and provide 1– 3/4” overall clearance furniture. Good condition for their age. All spin freely without extensive rust issues. They were cleaned and lightly oiled and can be easily restored for authentic antique furniture restoration, but some want to maintain the antiquity and current condition so we are leaving restoration decision to you. We have attempted to be as precise as possible. But please view all pictures for condition and ask as many questions as you would like before bidding. Thanks for looking!

Set of four. Antique, old, metal, cast iron, wood wheeled, furniture, bed casters, wheels, hardware. These items show overall wear including scratches. Discoloration, surface rust, scuff marks and scratches found to the wooden wheels, and one of the wheels has a large heavy wear spot found. The hardware appears to be a cast iron bracket with a steel post; we believe these items to be antique. The wheel diameter is approximately 1 1/8” on each. The treads measure approximately 5/8” wide, and these items measure approximately 1 5/8” x 1 1/8” x 2 7/8” each at their largest dimensions. Please see pictures for more details.

Very cool. Hard to find Antique wooded casters with the original sleeves. They appear to be in good condition and fit into the sleeves very tightly. please look over the pictures real well and judge the condition for yourself as you get all eight pieces- 4 casters and 4 sleeves. Each caster measures 2 3/4 inches high and the caster itself is appx 1 inch in diameter- the sleeves are 1 1/4 inches- on the side the iron it says M3.
